Oh, I can. I have special powers like that.
[ narrator: the force does not work that way and, even if it did, she does not have access to it. ]
no subject
I don’t believe you.
[Oh. That’s why.]
no subject
Obviously not human.
no subject
[She has a point there, but...]
Alright. What’s it saying now then?

[ ahsoka carefully squats down, getting a little lower to be on eye-level with the stout blurrgobo. the reptilian avian makes something between a gurgle and a sqwack, fitting of its mutation. she hums, setting a hand on her chin in thought. ]
Seems like he wants your name.
no subject
Like to keep?[Iwaizumi’s skepticism doesn’t fade from his expression, but he figures if anything that this is this lady’s way of asking for his name herself, so he obliges.]
Iwaizumi. Does it have one?
no subject
Yeah, it told me earlier. Name's... pecky.
no subject
How fitting.
[It’s weird, whatever it is, but kind of cool. Iwaizumi isn’t terribly adept with animals though, and he’s a little nervous about the pecking. Maybe if he just...holds his hand out as an offering?]
What is “Pecky” anyway? You must know, right? Since you can talk to it.
[That last bit is said quite flatly.]
no subject
And Pecky is a mutated blurrg. [ she says with a couple pats to pecky's side, who doesn't change its rather sullen expression. ] They don't normally have avian features like beaks and feathers. A side effect of how things form into existence on this world.
no subject
What do you mean by that, exactly?
There a reason all the animals in this place are so...[He glances at the Blurrg, suddenly conscious that it might take offense to what he’s about to say on the off chance that it really can understand speech.]...unique?
no subject
When creatures form in the void, they do so from our memories. However it seems the void... it kind of has trouble making things fully formed. At least that's my theory. Things get blended, I guess you can say.
Not just the animals, but even the buildings here come from our memories. Everything here is part of us in some way.
no subject
I don’t think I’ve seen a single animal here I recognize. [It’s true - not even the fish swimming around this place look normal.]
Or a place for that matter. [He looks a bit wistful then. He’s not sure he’d even want to see something from home if it meant that something familiar was going to be warped into some bizarre mix of another world’s definition of normal. It makes him shift uncomfortably where he’s crouched just thinking about it.]
I’m guessing you’ve been here for a while knowing all that, right?
That’s what you people call this place? The “Void”? [Fitting he guesses, though unnerving as expected.]
no subject
[ maybe they could vote on a name at some point, but for now 'Void' seems appropriate. things are constantly forming and to her that's a good thing. means whatever they're doing to build out this world, it's going in the right direction. ]
I've been here... honestly, I'm not sure anymore. Time is a loose concept here. We've figured out that the Void creates based on our experiences, our memories, but how it does that is still up in the air.
[ a beat, then- ]
And I'm guessing you've never seen a non-human before, right?
no subject
A few since I showed up here, yeah. [Whoops. The rudeness is dawning on him a bit now. He raises an eyebrow, wanting to ask what exactly that would make her, but realizing that he...probably shouldn’t.]
Just humans and animals in my world. Nothing...[Uhh...how to put this?]...different...than that.
