Oh no.

I don't think I will ever be as cool as you Raihan. You're easily the coolest guy here.

[ how serious is she, the world will never know. ]

I'm glad we're in agreement! [ he grins; he's almost certain she was being sarcastic, but doesn't think twice about rolling with it anyway. it's no fun otherwise! ] But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna give you credit where it's due.

[ he looks between her and the creatures, still fully convinced that she can talk to them. don't disappoint him....... ]

So, what'd they have to say?

[ she almost wants to just admit she can't, but if he's going to believe her then no way can she disappoint. luckily, she is an excellent (horrible) liar! ]

Hm. Share with us your wisdom, boy.

[ she says, giving one of the blurrgs a gentle pat on its head. her hand rests and she closes her eyes, trying to reach out to hear its feelings. ...the force is with her, but even so the connection past her is lost.

that said- ]

...They said they missing their pack. They've been separated for some time now, and need to return to their herd.

[ he watches with interest as Ahsoka tries to resonate with the creatures, trying to see if he can get on the same wavelength, too. he obviously can't - these aren't his Pokémon, after all - but he wants to at least see what she can parse. ]

Well that's no good. [ he frowns a bit, sobering up a bit from his initial boisterousness. ] I guess I can understand how it happened... those herds always look like they're moving from one place to the next.

[ he leans down a bit to their level, gently holding his hand out to the one Ahsoka isn't engaging. the Trainer instinct is kicking in, Pokémon or not. ] They look pretty small compared to some of the other's I've seen. Are they young?

[ the blurrgobo approaches raihan as his hand is offered out, beak carefully pushing into his palm by the top tip. cautious sniffs, and perhaps the hope that there was something in the palm missed. ]

Could be. They're definitely smaller than other blurrgs I've seen. [ a beat, then- ] Blurrgs being what one-half of them are. The reptilian half at least. They're native to some planets I've visited. The adults can be twice the sizes of these guys.

[ sorry, friend! there's nothing for it but gentle pats for its beak, but hopefully that's enough for Raihan to get in its good books. he'll have to bring some of Blue's mushroom jerky next time. ]

No kidding? [ he looks at her with surprise, and then back at the creature - true to her word, it does look a bit reptilian if you block out the beak and feather plume. if she recognizes them in the same way that Raihan recognizes the Pidgey, Magikarp and Smeargle parts of the creatures they've been fused with, it makes more sense that she'd be able to communicate with them. that's his logic, and he's sticking with it. ] Well, that's enough reason for me to pitch in! And if we reunite them with their pack, maybe they'll look a little happier.

[ or that's just their default expression... but he likes the visual of the little guys mustering up a smile of some sort, enough to make him chuckle to himself. still crouched, he tries asking them directly; maybe he can get through to them, too. ] Do you remember the last place you saw your family?

[ ahsoka chuckles warmly at the comment - blurrgs never did seem pleased and that's without being fused with some bird creature - and gives raihan the space he needs to communicate. unlike her attempts at faking it until making it, having a real trainer who has gone through this could actually be useful! even if she can't talk with the blurrgobo for real, these two are lost from their group.

the blurrgobo steps back and makes a gentle squawk, a heavy growl mixed into the vocalization. the one next to ahsoka steps forward as well and mimics the sound, then starts to walk past him with a confidence the other lacks. it seems to know where it's going more than its friend, though how much of that is blind confidence remains to be seen. the other one does not follow, large eyes sadly drooping as it squawks once more at raihan. ]

Think it likes you. ...Or might just be depressed.

[ there are plenty of Pokémon out there with a resting bitch face, so that part wasn't really serious, but he's glad it got some sort of a laugh out of Ahsoka. even if this is serious, he still wants to keep the atmosphere easygoing and relaxed for the two lost little ones.

he keeps focus as he watches what the creature is trying to say. it's definitely a step in the right direction that they can understand him, but ultimately unsurprising thanks to his experience with sapient creatures - it would be weirder if they couldn't, really. the trick now is to try and make something of their pantomime. ]

I'll take that as a no. [ he smiles softly, giving the sad-looking one a more comforting stroke on its beak. ] I like it, too. But I'm not gonna let it go on moping like this!

[ he looks to the more confident one, then to Ahsoka. ] You sure looks sure of yourself... Translation?
