Hmmm... yeah, it's a pretty undesirable job when you get down to it, but it's a job, and I am what I am.

Youkai is this word humans use. Spirits. Monsters. There are thousands, tens of thousands. Some are emotions. Some are things. Some are beasts. Some were human once and became what they did, by choice, by situations.

I think it's a word we embraced that just means "Spirit thing I don't understand" to humans, and what they didn't understand they feared... until they forgot us.
