Uh oh. Arching an eyebrow he looked down at her glowing purple countenance, "Why is this starting to sound like the beginnings of a lengthy speech?". That being said, he didn't interrupt. Much, allowing her to get her thoughts and order and presented. Indigo deserved at least that much. "You love me?" Ok, in all fairness he couldn't let that one slide, sounding dubious. Some people did form bonds more easily and were more open about their feelings, but when did this happen? Eh, it wasn't important. Not at present, he was about to be lectured.
Under his scrutinizing gaze, it probably didn't make it any easier for her to deliver her advice. He stood there like a stone statue. It took a lot not to bring up just how much he excels at everything he sets his mind to, or how he wouldn't accept inferiority in himself. Needlessly mean. More like they're overly sensitive.
His jaw gaped open at that next line however, not having expected her to have the audacity to call him insecure. "If you're just going to add to the growing list of insults-!" He snapped, pivoting to leave, his jacket swirling behind him from the motion but he stopped himself, balling a fist and forcing himself to look back. Storming off now, certainly wouldn't dissuade the question of his insecurity.
There's another word in there he's not overly fond of either,"I've never really been into the whole friendship deal. You've got the wrong duelist for that." You want the spiky haired current title holder. Still, apart of him forced himself to dial it back a notch as he turned back towards her fully. "I do appreciate your knowledge, skill, and cooperation on various projects, and I'm hoping that association can continue but I never thought of us as anything more than colleagues. Due to the respect I have for you I'm willing to .. overlook this incident, and take it more as it was intended." As you know.. advice and not a personal attack. How about actually trying to listen to it, and apply it?
Let his actions speak for him, hm? They usually did but he had less to work with here in the void. Maybe he hadn't been adapting to this microcosm as much as he thought?
This one hurts, I didn't want to send it!
