We hereby start the Void Calendar! All over the Void since yesterday, several handwritten notes have been taped or stapled to the Void's most populated areas in the hopes to drive the people to the popular bar/cafe. Heavenly Blanc's exterior has been protected from any upcoming storms by a large awning, and more tables and chairs have been temporarily set to settle any issues of overcrowding on the inside. Upon entering, one will be able greeted by the aroma of curry, although the spices vary from pot to pot, and coffee and alcohol will be served throughout the evening.

Within the interior of the bar, a small space has been divided and cleared out -- next to the jukebox. There, one will find a few microphones resting on their stands, waiting for whoever is brave enough to sing on them to whatever is playing in Heavenly Blanc when the storm hits. Last, but not least, a whiteboard has been visibly placed next to the entrance. It reads: "Names of the Months", and you may either write your own or add sticks to vote on your favorites.

(Ren simply stops on his tracks, as if he's caught doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. In fact, he's not even here for the punch. He's here for a can of soda, which he is in motion to pick up when the words hit his ears.

With both hands out, as to plead innocence, Ren picks a can of soda for himself and offers one to Izumi. Lighten up?)

[obsessiveness]

[ huh. come to think of it, it has been a while since izumi's talked to ren, isn't it? ever since that terrible tryst at meatmentos.

he merely gives ren a deadpan look. ]

Right, because soda is s~oooo much better than freakin' alcohol.

... Are you still angry?

(He knows Izumi isn't exactly a bundle of joy, but given the fact he was pretty upset in Mementos when Ren stepped into a fight he was sure the two boys wouldn't win, he isn't sure what to make of it.

He opens his own, taking a sip.)

[ this time, izumi offers a close-eyed smile. which, if you knew him from way back then, is a bad sign. ]

For what? Showing us up in that hellscape a couple months back? Just flexing your oh-so-terrific abilities on a bunch of ordinary-ass people like me and Leo-kun? Oh boy, you sure showed us! We couldn't have gotten out of that mess without your help, Mr. Phantom Thief! What else are you going to steal under our noses next, I wonder~?

[ let it be known that izumi is the type to hold grudges for years. he is a guy driven by spite, after all. ]

I was trying to help. I care about you both.

(Nothing in his actions had been to hurt. They had been an intervention, because Leo himself didn't recognize him, even having seen what he looks like in the Metaverse. That in itself just screamed "threat" to him, and he couldn't let his friends like that.)

[obsessiveness]

Yeah, well... [ he sighs. ] The damage has been done. Let's just leave it at that before I ruin this entire party with my bitching alone.

[ he may be a stick in the mud, but he doesn't want to be a huge moodkiller. ]

Anyway, so long as you keep an eye on the alcohol tonight, you're forgiven for now.

(Izumi won't get an apology, though. Ren is NOT apologizing for using his powers to protect those he cares about, whether they like it or not. When offered to leave it at that, Ren takes it, drinking from the can before Ren himself sighs.)

(Ann, he knows she took a cup from a booth thinking it was fruity punch. He has decided to put the punch inside as soon as this conversation is over. Trust can only do so much.)

Are you, now? New Years is usually a time for reflection, you know, on what you did for the past year. Not that we can really tell how long we've been here till now anyway.

All I'm saying that one's best just doesn't cut it sometimes. Trust me, I've been there.

(Someone could easily be upset at Izumi's words, but Ren welcomes them with curiosity.)

(Honest question. If it's within his reach, he'll make it happen.)

I dunno. What would typically be your New Year's resolution anyway? Just work on that.

(Just attempting to make conversation. If Izumi wants, he can leave.)

[ he's got nothing much to do anyway but wallflower. ]

Of course? Not that I'd tell you, though. That's for me and the gods to know if there are shrines to go to, here.

There is one. Near here, around the bridge.

(Although it has morphed into a ... Greek temple, he guesses? There's still shinto-like things there, thanks to Parsee.)

But it doesn't resemble any of the temples back home. Also, there's no sun. It just... doesn't feel the same, I guess.
