We hereby start the Void Calendar! All over the Void since yesterday, several handwritten notes have been taped or stapled to the Void's most populated areas in the hopes to drive the people to the popular bar/cafe. Heavenly Blanc's exterior has been protected from any upcoming storms by a large awning, and more tables and chairs have been temporarily set to settle any issues of overcrowding on the inside. Upon entering, one will be able greeted by the aroma of curry, although the spices vary from pot to pot, and coffee and alcohol will be served throughout the evening.

Within the interior of the bar, a small space has been divided and cleared out -- next to the jukebox. There, one will find a few microphones resting on their stands, waiting for whoever is brave enough to sing on them to whatever is playing in Heavenly Blanc when the storm hits. Last, but not least, a whiteboard has been visibly placed next to the entrance. It reads: "Names of the Months", and you may either write your own or add sticks to vote on your favorites.

[Yes, let's never speak of that, good]

[There would be plenty of hungover Cinderellas by the end of this party, Blue included, but he's a little more used to it- or so he likes to think. All these teenagers would have to be looked after by somebody.... Even if that somebody was, himself, not much older.] I don't mind a bit of cockiness [Obviously], but that guy's on another level.

[Blue picks up Izumi's cup and sets it under the french press at back, snorting to his response and almost dropping the hot coffee cup. Rayban. He's remembering that one; he doesn't bother to correct, either, as he pushes it back across the counter to Izumi.] Yeah, opposite sides, though. I'm from the Kanto region, which is basically the other side of the globe. Although I work in Alola right now, it's basically just as far away.

I've traveled all over, but I never saw a reason to go to Galar. Still, I guess I can't speak to their battling style personally, in that case.

[obsessiveness]

[ thank you, my good man. izumi takes the cup of coffee to his lips and drinks from it, all while listening to blue's rambles. that last part kind of took him off-guard, though. ]

Wait, battling? You guys battle... with your pets?

[ that's essentially what they are, right ]

[Oh no, here we go. Blue pauses mid-movement in cleaning the coffee press and purses his lips with a deep sigh, like he's already had this conversation a dozen times.]

[(Because he has.)]

Yeah, what about it? [Blue tries to play it off with the desperation of a man who doesn't want to have to explain the basic concepts of his world again. Man, he should just write these things down to hand out, or something...] Battling is a natural instinct of Pokémon, it's not like we're making them do it. [As if he could make a 20-foot long sea dragon do anything.] We just... well, partner up with them, to travel around together.

Pokémon are way, way stronger than humans, you know.

[obsessiveness]

Ehh.

[ izumi takes another sip of his coffee with a hum that almost sounds disinterested. almost, because the concept of strange animal buddies partnering up with humans is rather riveting even for him, but in the end he's just not that into the battling aspect... ]

You say they're stronger, yet humans in your world managed to tame them and make them team up with you. There's also strength in that.

[ hmmm. ]

So what do you think of like, normal looking animals? Like cats and such? 'Cause I'm starting to doubt that you've even encountered one in your world before.

[Blue is getting kind of used to the accusatory tone most people have when they're trying to understand the idea of Pokémon trainers and Pokémon battles, so he has a bit of a kneejerk reaction as Izumi responds-]

We're not making them, [He repeats irritably, gesturing across the way at Eevee schmoozing around the party for pets and nibbles.] Just try ticking him off sometime, you'll see even the smallest ones could do whatever they wanted, if they didn't like their trainer.

[Blue glances at the bulletin board that's been a hubbub of activity throughout the party now, covered in doodles of cats.] That seems to be the case. After all, where I come from, 'cats' come in a bunch of different species, like Meowth or Skitty. And even Meowth has different forms, depending on where it lives, so they're way more distinct from each other than I've ever heard anyone mention here.

Though even the Pidgey here have their own form. I guess I wouldn't know for sure unless I met one. [He has not met Little John....]

[obsessiveness]

[ HE'S NOT A GAMER and he's just used to normal life, okay? not that being an idol is ordinary, given the dramatic shit they'd gone through, but his life back home sounds a lot more plain and boring compared to the very... animal-centric world blue and raihan live in. ]

That sure is a fox. A baby fox? [ he's referring to eevee. squints. ] Pets in our world would tend to disobey their owners either if they're not trained right, so maybe it's not that different? I will admit that your animals back home look... interesting, and I don't mean it in a bad way? If I had Raihan's fire turtle I'd have an easier time cooking things on its shell, for starters.

[ just put a pot of food on top of the torkoal and bam, hotpot ]

But I guess felines in every world are going to be cute one way or another, huh. [ the edge of his mouth twitches upward in a half-smile. ] I suggest checking out Leo-kun's cat upstairs sometime. It's not really his cat, but... well. They've had some history together.

It's not-- well, whatever, close enough, [Better to just let this one go, he grumbles. He supposes he could see the correlation between a Vulpix or Zorua and an Eevee-] He's an Eevee, but you're not wrong. Pokémon won't disobey unskilled trainers, or ones who haven't earned or who've lost their respect.

[Blue would insist that his life was quite normal.... But truthfully, he wasn't your everyday Joe, even for his own world. He is the grandson of a famous professor, after all!]

[His interest is piqued easily at the prospect of additional cute creatures to meet, and he leans forward in his seat.] Hah? noisy-boy's got one here? ...I haven't seen any creatures running around besides the Pidgey, lately.

[Blue lifts his chin and glances around the room, as if to catch a glimpse of a new and exciting species!]
