That doesn't make any sense. A world isn't flesh and blood; these tunnels are a random transplant from somebody's nightmares or something.
The earthquakes will cause major terrain shifts, but that's a normal part of early world development. It's actually a good thing. It will create new land mass and relieve tectonic stress. ...Which is, you know, dumb because I'm pretty sure this place doesn't have tectonic plates yet, but whatever, it just picks things up without actually figuring out the mechanics.
