That's just part of being a community -- they lean on one another when they need to. 'Today you, tomorrow me' and all that. Though he's a bit of a hypocrite in this regard, as he would feel just as guilty if it were the other way around. You'd think, knowing that they don't mind being the helper, people would feel less bad about being the one to receive aid.

He's not sure how it will actually help, especially seeing as the only real examination tools he has are a thermometer and a flashlight, but perhaps it'll give him a little peace of mind.
