[Although it's perhaps a little hard to tell when and if Blue is doing it on purpose.... At least, he doesn't seem to be forward about being antagonistic, so if Akechi would like to believe he's as foolish as he seems, it's unlikely he'd be able to hide it so well, right?]

[...Judging from some of the events at the party (with one Seto Kaiba), perhaps he isn't the type to bother hiding it when he's feeling antagonistic, anyway.]

Hmmm... Do think there's anything we can actually do to get home? This place seems so lifeless, [Blue comments, watching the Smeargle tag after Akechi with an adoring grin. Don't make them sad.] I mean, aside from the Pokémon here. What I mean is.... if it is a Legendary Pokémon that's behind all this, I feel like they woulda shown up by now. But it doesn't feel like anything that happens here is on purpose, you know?

[It's several impacts in quick succession, and his eyes go wide and wild for a moment at the idea that she can beat him, and so easily. His eyes flick past her shoulder to his sword before he forces himself to reign it in, gritting his teeth as he inclines his head.]

I... yes. This has been... a valuable lesson, Tifa-san.

[A bruising for his pride, no doubt, but valuable nonetheless.]

[And he isn't just saying it to be polite, he actually means it as he finally does try to rub the paint off his cheek. He doesn't like to owe anyone anything, but she doesn't seem the type to collect with anything malicious. In a way, she seems like Ren in that respect.

The question about cognition sparks a thoughtful hum and an appraising glance, as if he's gauging how much he wants to tell her.]

It's a theory, where Ren and I come from, [he says finally.] Top secret, of course, not known to the general public, but there are some who believe a world could exist that's formed from the collective unconscious. From how people perceive the world around them, from their expectations and desires.

[Ren had seen fit to tell Tifa about it, so Akechi gauges it's only fair to tell Rinoa if she's smart enough to ask.]

That's what the two of us had initially suspected this to be, but the evidence thus far suggests otherwise. A distant cousin of that theory, perhaps, ruled by a god who has only observational knowledge of how a world could be, without any real knowledge of physics, chemistry, or biology.

[For now, Akechi just pets the one who's run up to him, a surprisingly gentle hand with how annoyed his voice sounds. At least he doesn't seem like the type to take out his frustrations on the things around him; at least, not where anyone can see.]

It's possible the god, overseer, whomever controlling this place is a particularly stupid or careless one, [he agrees, rubbing one of the creature's ears between his thumb and forefinger. If it could purr, it certainly seems like it would.]

No matter how small the chance, I will not rest until I've determined a way for us to leave this cursed place. [And then his lips quirk up in a wry smile.] Not that "rest" is something afforded to us, in any case.

[Honestly, Akechi almost respects Kaiba for being so open about his contemptuousness for others. He wishes he could do the same, sometimes, but alas, he wants to be liked too much. It doesn't benefit him at all to be hated, not when there are so many unknowns here still.]

Yes, that sounds like them exactly.

[And he frowns. What the fuck is that supposed to mean, Ren??]

How strange... thank you. Hearing first-hand from an expert is even better than an internet search, wouldn't you agree?

[Blue is pleased to see how fond Akechi seems to be with the Smeargle...... He's a good actor, if nothing else! Oh well, if he won't play with them, this is good enough!]

Haha, careless maybe, I dunno if I ever heard about a stupid legendary...

[Watching Akechi with the Smeargle, Blue continues to play with the other ones, following their lead as they walk him through their painted little 'obstacle course'.]

[No matter how small the chance, huh...? Blue couldn't be bothered with stuff like this. If there weren't even any hints as to what was going on, he was content to simply coast along, staying safe and keeping his spirits up as best he could.]

[Stuff like that... That was for maniacs, like Red. Like Ren.]

Haha... The both of you are just regular super heroes, aren't you?

........Well, heroes with knives, or whatever, I guess. [Blue dryly laughs, somewhere between a teasing grin and a grimace.]

(And that's not going to help Leo one bit, Akechi. His frown can easily indicate the concern he is feeling towards Leo - he knows it's tough being here, specially when this is one's first encounter with something less than ordinary.

Unfortunately, he has to agree with Akechi, so he gives a confirmation in a hum.)

I don't think being God's favorite is a good thing, anyways.

[ Her brows raise as Akechi talks. Like he said, it's a theory from his world, and as far as she knows, there's no similar theory on her own. Still, it makes a lot of sense, especially considering the strangeness that makes up this world. On one hand, like he said, there's the complete lack of the usual rules that would make a world make sense; on the other, there's the strange combinations of things from the inhabitants' various home worlds... like the exact kind of creature standing by his side, and all around them.

At least... she's pretty sure that's what he means. She puts her hands on her hips, a thoughtful expression crossing her features. There's no harm in asking, right? ]

Would that theory explain why there's all these things here that... kinda... belong to different people? With everything mixed up because whatever brought us here doesn't understand anything past, you know, observational knowledge?

[ She indicates one of the painter-like creatures standing by him, a fond smile forming on her lips. ]

Like these. They're kinda similar to something from my home, something called a Moomba.

[Sometimes people need a little bruising to their pride to improve, Akechi!!

Tifa slows her roll, a sheepish smile parting the enthusiasm in her expression, and she lowers her fists, relaxing her pose. She knows her strengths, and she can be a little hard on people sometimes, but going easy on someone never went well, either. It at least helps her to know where they're at.

Slowly, she glances over her shoulder to his sword.]

No need to thank me. Just remember what I said, and we'll call it even. But next time... I want you to spar with your sword.
