Well, she's right in that it's edible. And eating it apparently does relieve the inexplicable hunger pangs. Certainly enough that he can more thoroughly appreciate the situation while it lasts.

The critter initially shies away a bit--it's not really used to most people other than Merlin, given Merlin's hermit-y habits--but curiosity and/or hunger soon gets the better of it. Which is to say, it steps forward cautiously, then abrutly grabs the morsel from her hand before scurrying a short distance away to devour it.
