He'd actually already started on that, setting up a low border around the garden area, when the dome and its fiery field had appeared and given him incentive to shuffle his priorities a bit.

That said, for his part Merlin isn't thinking at all about possible connections or quality relationships. Instead, he's just taking her interest precisely at face value: a bored demigoddess looking for something to occupy her time.
