I. Takoba Beach

[Noct spends a lot of time on the beach. He finally managed to track down a fishing pole, and a good percent of that time is spent standing on the beach with the line in the water. He hasn't managed to catch much, but it's got as much to do with passing the time as the actual catching.]

[He's also claimed an apartment in the Merlaut, now, and when he gets really bored, he goes back to trying to decorate the place. He's gotten the basics so far, and he spends some time digging through anything new to see if there's anything worth taking with him.]

II. Merlaut Apartments

[Noct had basically claimed an apartment and hoped nobody would kick him out of it - and so far, no one has. Right now, it's a mish-mash of pieces of furniture that he's hauled up from the beach combined with the ones that were already there.]

[He doesn't actually spend a lot of time there, considering the lack of power, internet, or television, but he can be seem coming and going from the building.]

III. Mortis Lake

[Noct actually isn't sure if there are fish in the lake or not, but sometimes he brings his fishing pole out here just to try. Sometimes something grabs his line, but he hasn't actually been able to pull anything up, yet. He's not sure if that's a good thing or not.]

[He's frequently being trailed by one of the potato-chocobos. They haven't quite worked up to riding, yet, but there's definitely been some bonding going on.]

IV. Wildcard

[Noct can be seen wandering around the area, checking out the new places and keeping an eye out for new arrivals who might need a hand. Sometimes, he might be seen laying down in a patch of shadow under a tree, eyes closed and head tipped back. Other times, he might be seen playing with (or avoiding) the local wildlife. Feel free to say hi!]

I. Takoba Beach

[Sephiroth himself cared little for mundane activities. He actually never cared much for them really. Before he had no time to spend on such things. Before he came here? He had all the time in the world, but hardly needed to do much of anything. Being dead gave that advantage.

He spent all his time obsessing over one person instead.

Right now, he's simply trying to figure out more about this place. He steps up beside the man fishing -- something that he's observed him doing for a little while.

While he does not carry a weapon on him, he does look sort of like an imposing statue the way he stares out at the water.]

Have you witnessed anything lurking beneath the depths? The creatures here are strange ... Not any I've seen before.

[Noct glances over at Sephiroth as he approaches - and then turns his attention back to the water until the other actually speaks.]

Uh... yeah. There's some weird dragon things out there. I'm kinda hoping they don't end up eating my pole.

[It took him long enough to find the thing in the first place and he doesn't want to lose it.]

['Dragon things'? What does that even mean? The only thing he saw was that fish Zack practically jumped in the water after. That could hardly be considered a dragon.]

Is whatever you saw a threat?

It's supposed to be? Enough people have warned me about them, anyway. I feel like catching one would be pretty cool.

[He can't give you much more than that, sorry. And yes, he knows it's weird that he wants to catch one of them, if they are as dangerous as everyone's making them out to be.]

That is either brave or highly stupid.

[He's not sure what category this person falls into yet. Probably the foolishly stupid one because he doesn't have a high opinion of -- well, anyone really.]

Is that what you are attempting to do now?

[Noct smirks a little.]

Friend of mine would say I definitely count as both. But yeah, thought I'd give it a try. It's not like there's much else to do so far.

Hey, neighbor! Didn't realize you'd taken up living here, too!

[ As he enters his room, Aerith appears in the doorway, waving at him. In her usual fashion, she enters without being invited, looking around at any personal touches he's brought into the unit. ]

Love what you've done with the place. [ She offers, smiling in a bit of a teasing way. ] Did you have all that mold and stuff in the sink when you first moved in? Took forever to scrub it out...

[She's absolutely welcome to come in - he wouldn't have left the door open if he had minded people wandering in. He huffs out an amused breath at her comment on the decor - it's definitely a mish-mash, but the layout is fairly similar to his apartment back in Insomnia - so at least there's no easy chairs at the dining room table or anything.]

Ugh, yeah. Definitely made me feel bad for all the times Ignis cleaned out my fridge back home because I had stuff growing in there.

Friend of yours? [ She inquires, at the mention of 'Ignis.' ] Well, maybe he'll show up to help you out! In the meantime, if you ever need a hand - if that stuff grows back, or something - I'd be happy to help.

[ It was gross and not at all fun to remove, but Tifa had helped her, so why not pass it on? ]

Have you found anywhere yet that's a place from your home? At least, partly yours, anyway. [ Considering her cafe-church... ]

Yeah, one of my best friends. [He huffs out a laugh.] If you knew how bad I am at keeping stuff clean, you might take that back.

[He shakes his head.] Not really? There are a couple of things that are kind of similar? Like, we have big bird things that you can ride, and those weird feathery potato looking things kinda remind me of them?

What about you?

Practice makes perfect, right? Maybe what you needed was the opportunity to have a space of your own that you're responsible for! I'm sure your friend would be really proud to see the progress you've made by the time he shows up.

[ If he does. If not-...well, they don't yet know if the knowledge they gain in the void carries over to their homes, so...maybe it'd still be helpful! ]

Big birds you can ride? [ Certainly, he doesn't mean chocobos... ] I don't know about any feathery potatoes, either...

[ Not without names. Aerith nods at the question, though, smiling fondly. ]

Yep! A church from my Sector that I spend a lot of time in. It was mixed up with a lemony café, though, so it has a little extra something to it. You should stop by sometime, if you want! It's called the Lemon Cello Church. You can't miss it.

(The fish are the only thing that makes sense in this place. They're just fish, not mixed or melded to something else. While Ren did have some work trying to keep the fish situation in the bathhouse intact, he still appreciates them nonetheless.

He sees the other, at this point more than used to having him around and he quietly approaches, soundless steps not to upset prospective captures.)

[Noct works slowly at his reel, moving the line back and forth as he watches the shadows under the water. He's figured out by now that the fish here are normal enough - if you don't count the dragon things in the ocean - so that's something of a comfort. At least they're not going to bite his nose off.]

[After a minute or two, he seems to feel eyes on him, and he glances back over his shoulder, smiling a little when he sees Ren.]

Hey.

[forethinking]

(Ren nods in response, another 'hey' in the other's direction before he approaches the water, trying to see if there were any challenges within the Shadows.

So far, not so much. He keeps his voice down to speak, careful not to scare off the fish.)

Anything so far?

[Noct appreciates Ren's stealth, and he shakes his head as he turns his attention back to the water.] Not at the moment. I'm trying to catch some stuff for sushi, but I think they're all onto me, today.

[He smiles a little as he twitches the rod to the side, making the lure jerk.]

(They are heading back toward the Merlaut when they spot someone familiar at the lake ... is he fishing?

They turn from their path, and approach.)

Alert: we do not recommend this course of action.

(Sure, there are normal fish ... but there's also the possibility he'll catch a vicious dragonkarp, instead.)

[He is definitely fishing, and he looks back over his shoulder at the sound of Legion's approach.]

Uh... why?

[He still has his line in the water for now, but he reaches for the reel, a little startled. No one's said anything to him about not fishing, yet?]

A common variety of fish is highly aggressive and capable of attacking out of water. Damage to equipment and physical platform are both possible.

(Some fish bite back, in other words.)

Oh! [He gets it, now.] Yeah, I know about them. I've been keeping an eye out. So far I haven't seen any.

[He's actually a little sad about it - he wouldn't mind actually trying to catch one of them, considering the fish he went after back home.]

(They tilt their head as they observe his response.)

[To say that Prompto was wary and confused at this place was an understatement. Mostly it was the fact that it didn't look like anywhere he'd ever been or seen in his entire life, but that was enough for him.

But while there weren't any familiar places, he does find a familiar person...or at least someone fishing at the edge of the water who looked familiar enough. It could very well be some sort of illusion, though, so he's approaching cautiously.]

Hey Noct? That you?

[Noct actually startles at the sound of his name, turning his head to look in its direction. It's a very familiar voice, after all.]

[For a moment, he just stares at Prompto - and then he drops the rod, not even caring if it ends up in the ocean, and starts toward his friend.]

Prom?

Yeah, it's me!

[He's going to jog the last bit of space between them and--well, he's not hugging Noctis but he's grabbing his friend's arm to make sure he can feel that he's really there. Even though Noctis was one of the last people he say before he ended up here, it's still nice to see him.]

Dude, you don't know how nice it is to see something familiar. Didja bring anyone else?

[He mostly means Ignis and Gladio, but he wouldn't be upset if one of the girls had found their way here instead.]

[Noct meets him halfway, reaching out to touch him, too, as soon as they're close enough. The urge to hug is strong, though. Maybe in a minute.]

[He shakes his head.]

No, it's just been me.

[He looks him over quickly.]

You alright?

Ah...

[It's sort of disappointing, but they've got each other for now, and that's also okay.]

I've...been better. But I mean...yeah, mostly.

[Physically, he seems to be okay, aside from a few small bruises on his arms and what appears to be a partly healed cut across the bridge of his nose. They're close enough that Noctis might notice them, but Prompto's not going to bring them up.]

I'm in one piece, that's pretty alright in my book. How're you doing? Been here very long or did you just get here too?
