I. Takoba Beach

[Noct spends a lot of time on the beach. He finally managed to track down a fishing pole, and a good percent of that time is spent standing on the beach with the line in the water. He hasn't managed to catch much, but it's got as much to do with passing the time as the actual catching.]

[He's also claimed an apartment in the Merlaut, now, and when he gets really bored, he goes back to trying to decorate the place. He's gotten the basics so far, and he spends some time digging through anything new to see if there's anything worth taking with him.]

II. Merlaut Apartments

[Noct had basically claimed an apartment and hoped nobody would kick him out of it - and so far, no one has. Right now, it's a mish-mash of pieces of furniture that he's hauled up from the beach combined with the ones that were already there.]

[He doesn't actually spend a lot of time there, considering the lack of power, internet, or television, but he can be seem coming and going from the building.]

III. Mortis Lake

[Noct actually isn't sure if there are fish in the lake or not, but sometimes he brings his fishing pole out here just to try. Sometimes something grabs his line, but he hasn't actually been able to pull anything up, yet. He's not sure if that's a good thing or not.]

[He's frequently being trailed by one of the potato-chocobos. They haven't quite worked up to riding, yet, but there's definitely been some bonding going on.]

IV. Wildcard

[Noct can be seen wandering around the area, checking out the new places and keeping an eye out for new arrivals who might need a hand. Sometimes, he might be seen laying down in a patch of shadow under a tree, eyes closed and head tipped back. Other times, he might be seen playing with (or avoiding) the local wildlife. Feel free to say hi!]

[Noct appreciates Ren's stealth, and he shakes his head as he turns his attention back to the water.] Not at the moment. I'm trying to catch some stuff for sushi, but I think they're all onto me, today.

[He smiles a little as he twitches the rod to the side, making the lure jerk.]

[Noct frowns as he looks Prompto over, as he notes those injuries. They look familiar from what Prompto was dealing when he saw him last. He's also not letting him go yet, still needing to reassure himself that Prompto is here and real and not going to disappear. Six, he's missed him.]

I'm okay. I've been here a little while, but it's kinda hard to tell since it's never nighttime and we don't have to sleep, yet.

[Noct can't help but laugh - and then he looks immediately apologetic.] Sorry, I'm, uh... I'm not laughing at you? I'm just... I'm really bad at being responsible and stuff. I've kinda gotten better, but. If Ignis ever shows up, he's definitely going to be surprised I cleaned a sink on my own. Even if I was kinda sure it was gonna try and attack me if I left it alone any longer.

[He absolutely means chocobos, surprise! He's also not sure how else to describe them.] They've been running around racing each other and stuff?

Oh! Yeah, I saw that, that's cool. I didn't know that was yours.

That is either brave or highly stupid.

[He's not sure what category this person falls into yet. Probably the foolishly stupid one because he doesn't have a high opinion of -- well, anyone really.]

Is that what you are attempting to do now?

It is also possible you may "catch" one by spending time near or in water.

(He himself counts as bait, in this instance.)

[Noct smirks a little.]

Friend of mine would say I definitely count as both. But yeah, thought I'd give it a try. It's not like there's much else to do so far.

[Noct didn't think of that.]

Oh, you mean they'll come around just because I'm here. Good point. Most fish tend to run away if they know people are around.

Or... swim away, I guess.

Yes. These do not.

(They consider for a moment, then go to wade in the water. Now they're interested in seeing if they can lure a dragonfish.)

[ Aerith smiles, chuckling in response. ]

Hey, it's okay! I know a lot of people like that. The first step to change is admitting that you're...bad at cleaning sinks. [ There's more of a laugh after that, one that fades into a curious quirk of her brow at the continued description of the birds. ]

Not - chocobos? [ There's no way, right? ] Anyway, yep! That's my church. Well, sorta. You probably know how it is.

[ With the mixed-memory locations and things around. ]

It's nice to have it here, though. Makes me feel better to be able to still go there, no matter what else is going on...

I would like to see this creature myself. It is good to know what threats await.

[He will totally let you get eaten by said creature though, Noctis. Just stand by and watch it happen.]

[Noct takes a step back as Legion steps into the water, taken aback.]

Uh.... weren't you just telling me not to do that?

[king_in_dreams]

[Noct laughs a little but also blushes faintly, the hand going back to his hair sheepishly. He drops his hand and looks a little startled as she goes on, though.]

Yeah, chocobos! Wait... you know chocobos? [Holy crap.]

[And he nods again.] Right, yeah.

[Noct raises an eyebrow at him.]

You just wanna see if it tries to eat me, don't you?

[Hey, people who know and like him would absolutely be waiting to see if something ate him. Prompto would probably take pictures.]

Yes. It is extremely unwise. However, we find ourselves-(Screech!)

(They fall over themselves trying to remove the Dragoncarp that has now latched onto their thigh.

Feel free to laugh at them.)

Sure do! We have them in Midgar: the city I came from. [ She tilts her head to study him, looking for any signs of recognition. ] So, where're you from? Somewhere else on Gaia?

[ Not Midgar, surely. The coincidence would be way too much. ]

I would be curious as to the results, yes.

[Yes. Yes he does want to watch it eat Noctis.]

However, it seems as though you'll have to find it first.

[Noct startles back a step as the Dragoncarp emerges - and then he just blinks at them, pressing his lips together as he tries very hard not to laugh.]

Holy shit.

Uh.... are you okay? Do you need help?

[Not that he's even sure how he would help.]

[Noct shakes his head.]

Nah, my planet's Eos. Uh... Tifa and I kinda talked about some of this, back when we were all swapping memories? Since we have Ifrit and Shiva, too.

I'm from Insomnia, though. That's my city.

They're fish. Sometimes they--

[Whatever he had been about to say about fish stops as there's a splash out in the ocean, and he turns his attention back to the fishing rod as something chops down on it.]

[Oh boy.]

(The last bit is jumbled up noises of agony as they finally manage to pry the carp free. Looks like it bit them pretty hard, even if the damage was pretty minor.

They're not the best with pain, and hobble awkwardly back to shore, captured dragoncarp in their hands.)

Though successful, we do not recommend this course of action.

[Noct's smile drops away entirely as Legion cries out, and he watches, concerned, as they emerge from the water. He takes a couple of steps closer, though he still keeps his distance in case the carp starts thrashing again.]

Yeah, no. That thing would definitely have just chomped me in half if I'd tried that. You sure you're okay?

The summons? Huh... That's funny. [ A different world, but one with chocobos and summons? ] I've never met anyone who had anything in common with our world. Not yet, anyway.

[ Until Noctis. Strange. Is it at all possible that he lives in a very, very different version of their own world, after all? In the way that she's been shown other instances of Gaia, maybe...one is so divergent that it was renamed entirely. Maybe Gaia was Eos.

Hmm. Too much to worry about now! ]

Insomnia, huh? Guess you don't get much sleep there. [ Get it?? ]

[king_in_dreams]

[He shakes his head.] Neither had I. When I realized she knew about the Six, I thought we might be from the same place, but... [He gestures vaguely. He hasn't thought too much about the similarities and differences between their worlds and what it all could mean, yet.]

[He huffs out a laugh at her next comment.] Yeah, I kinda try and make it an irony thing, though, considering I'm pretty bad about sleeping in.

We are constructed of more durable materials than most organics.

(The injury might be more worrying if the laws of this universe didn't also allow them to heal on their own without repair, the same as organics.

The dragoncarp in their hands thrashes furiously, and they must keep a tight grip on it.)

Uh, yeah, definitely a good thing.

[Noct is still a little preoccupied by the dragoncarp, especially with the way it's thrashing.]

I'm realizing now I don't know what I would have done with one of those if I had actually caught it.

[He has no idea what to suggest to Legion now that they're holding the thing.]
