Hey! You okay up there?

[ From down on the ground comes the call of someone Kaiba hasn't spoken to in a while: Aerith, passing by. She's got a hand up to partially-shield herself from the rain, but is otherwise squinting in his direction and frowning. ]

You might catch a bolt of lighting if you stand around too long, you know!

[ She's a capable-enough healer, but not everything can be totally undone with a little Cure... ]

[If the sound could travel that well, then the ground couldn't be that far down. That was if normal physics applied here, and they didn't always. Eh- he was willing to risk it. Without answering her at first, he disappeared from view only briefly, before he took a leap out of the train. As if to highlight Aerith's concerns there was another flash in the distance silhouetting his descent.

In a matter of mere moments, he landed dramatically in a crouch. Righting himself his jacket flared out behind him.]

That's not a bad idea. [What?. Thunderstorms were new, and lightning might not pose the usual threat. If fire was any indication.... still, he wasn't sure he wanted to volunteer to be a lightning rod despite his earlier, more precarious position. Looking her over once, he refrained from saying something as obvious as 'you're still here', though he found himself wondering how she had faired the last two episodes.] Don't you have enough sense to get out of the rain?

I could ask you the same thing! [ She hasn't moved yet, and is instead standing with her hands planted firmly on her hips. ] Maybe if you'd hurry up and get down here, then we could both get dry!

[ Jeez, Kaiba. With all that lightning? No way is Aerith just going to abandon him to get struck and fall. ]

It wouldn't be a very soft landing, so be careful on your way down, okay?

[Careful, reckless- either way gravity did most of the work for him but it was a sufficiently flashy descent in keeping with his aesthetics. The way he landed likely should have resulted in an injury since it focused the force in a central location, and yet he was fine. Years of practice. Righting himself he smirked.]

Fast enough for you?

[Although he didn't see the need in her making the sacrifice to get drenched, it was her choice.]

Yup! And flashy, too! [ She looks pleased with herself, and lifts her hand, a single finger raised toward the sky. ] But not as flashy as we'll be if we get hit by that lightning! So...shall we?

[ Whenever the nearest shelter is should work until the storm subsides... ]

[Kaiba wouldn't have accepted anything less.

Not understanding quite why she looks so pleased with herself, while she's still being dripped on he groans at the pun] With the rails above us, I doubt that we're in any danger here- but fine.

[Running over the terrain in his mind, he tries to recall what's closest to their present location. It doesn't really matter what it is, just so long as it is]

Oh, you know. Just passing through. [ Making sure nobody needs help, and just...clearing her head, honestly. ] What about you? What were you doing all the way up there?

[ After all, she'd at least been on the ground: Kaiba was in a bit more of a precarious spot. ]

In a storm. [Fixating on this point, since there was no point in her getting drenched needlessly. At her question he looked back skyward at the tracks]

Investigating how electricity has manifested here and how best to utilize it and harness it. [See, totally practical and worth risking electrocution for] Networks still are inoperable, not that there are any towers or infrastructure in place to support it... [But it's still disappointing]

Yup! [ Hey, if he can be out, so can she!!

Aerith nods at his explanation, glancing back and up toward where he'd been standing. ]

It's some kinda mix of science and magic, right? That seems to be the theme of this place, anyway... [ Not that she's an expert on either. ] I want to know how it all works as much as anyone, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information to go around. Not yet, anyway.
