Urghhh! [A growl of frustration, but—-] Look pal, I ain’t lookin’ to go kicking anyone’s ass over some goddamn stupid ball today, alright?!

Just leave me alone and go back to bed!

[ eh, a couple of students from his school back home used to jump off second-story windows with barely a scratch on them, so izumi can easily pull it off. besides, with the literal hell he went through a while back, he can no longer be scared of doing that anymore. ]

Yeah, well, too late for that. If you weren't screaming your whiny ass off, I wouldn't be here.

[ he coolly raises an eyebrow at the floating volleyball, kicking it up with his foot and tossing it back to iwaizumi. ]

Volleyball, huh. You in a club like that back home, or something?

[Whiny? The ass-kicking is getting really tempting here, Izumi! But Iwaizumi has already had one show-stopping physical altercation since coming here so far, and he’s really, really not looking to deal with that kind of attention again anytime soon. Izumi is being calm now, so he will be calm! Be calm, be calm.]

Yeah, what of it?

[Be CALM, Iwaizumi! He huffs, takes the volleyball and walks a few feet away to where his gym bag is sitting on the ground, stuffs it in. His uniform would make the answer to that question obvious if it weren’t for the track pants and jacket he’s wearing over it - they do proudly boast his high school’s name though - Aoba Johsai.]

Doesn’t matter. [Yeah, yeah. Bitter new guy - we get it.]

[obsessiveness]

[ aoba johsai... izumi does know an "aoba" from back home, but other than that, the name of the school does not ring a bell. then again, yumenosaki academy was a world of its own, and most idols like him don't really pay attention to normal schools anyway.

jeez, that's uneventful. he went all the way here to give this guy an earful, and now he's actually just... shutting up? that's usually a good thing, but - ]

What, you're giving up now? I didn't tell you to stop practicing, for one. I used to be vice-captain of the tennis club at my school, so I kinda get it.

I’m not giving up. [He says as if that’s the most insulting thing Izumi could have possibly said.] I’m going to go find some place where gravity works so I can actually hit the damn ball.

There’s no point in practicing where you can’t play the game properly.

[obsessiveness]

[ izumi can only sigh. ]

Well, there's always the beach? You can never go wrong with beach volleyball even though it's not the season for it.

Yeah, maybe.

[Alright Iwaizumi, calm down. This guy is being...well, not nice, but he’s not yelling anymore.]

Are there even seasons here?

Do thunderstorms count? There's snow in that mountain over there, but that's all we got. But trust me when I say that dealing with this world's bullshit is so much better if you turn your brain off a tad.

Anyway, let me know if you find a place to play ball in. I've joined a club in high school before, at least.

[Iwaizumi sighs a bit. The guy has a point, though he’s still a bit too riled up to admit it. Turning his brain off has really been the only way he’s been able to cope at all, and the easiest way to do that is to play, which...is what has led to his current predicament. He doesn’t hate the direction this conversation is going though. Maybe some sports talk would be a decent distraction.]
