The Spirit is In - Shrine/Blessing

[Parsee rested in a seated position inside of her shrine. More than a few had been by recently, and before they'd gone to sleep, there'd been enough people that she could feel 'something' happening. It was difficult to really tell what that something was, but she'd been feeling different lately.

Hearing a clapping of hands, or some other sound from outside, she grunted and got to her feet, walking out. Her clothes were all in white, even if they were still makeshift. She'd finally conceded to the need to speak and left the candles out of her mouth but she still wore a metal crown of woven trash with candle held at the top. Peaking out, she raised an eyebrow.]

Eh? You here for prayers?

[Outside, the smeargle painted sign telling them 'prayers one pebble' was all that told how this worked.]

(OOC: Awaiting approval for her assignment as a spirit, but I assume it will play out. If you're interested in a blessing, she may in fact give that to people she doesn't dislike, because that will really... really... mess with her. You can, if you wish, have your character coming back after a blessing too to comment.)

(Oh look, it's Legion. They look up from their attempt at prayer.)

Yes. However, we also brought cake.

(They gesture at a makeshift platter sitting on the ground next to them with several cute identical mini lemon cakes on it.

It was common for them to bring friends cake on Enso, and now that they have access to cake here, they will continue the tradition.)

Those... yeah, you brought cakes. Did you get those at that church place? You didn't have to do that.

[She was blinking and surprised right about now, because wow that definitely qualified in her mind as a substitute for a damned pebble, even if she could still eat pebbles. Cakes were better. They just were.]

Yes. It was common for us to gift cake to our friends on Enso.

(They're just continuing the tradition.)

I mean, I'm not saying no at all. I'm just surprised is all. What's the occasion?

[She stepped out, reaching out a hand for the cakes and looking down at them curiously. Much better than rocks and pebbles, she could admit that readily enough and she certainly seemed pleased by the thought.]

(They hand her the platter, and get up from their prayer.)

An occasion was not previously required.

(Cake was just, for a little while, how Legion symbolized friendship to people who didn't always understand their words.

Physical gestures, they've found, are far more communicative.)

[And, after a moment's consideration, she took one of the cakes off of the platter before setting the rest inside. Taking it, she took a bite out of it. The 'supplicant' should get to see their 'deity' get to eat the food put before them rather than symbolically, if possible. Mmmm, not bad actually.]

Trying to pick up some of the more pleasant of human habits, I take it? [She winked at him, and after a bit of a thought, she nodded.] So... uh... was there something or someone you wanted to think about today? Maybe someone here. You or another.

(They watch her for a moment, contemplating her question.)

We have been attempting to tame the creatures that resemble the Geth.

(One for now, but they'd like to try and tame more, or at least get them to be friendlier. They don't want the ...remnants? ...children? of their people to be horrible monsters that lure people in and eat them.

Perhaps they will pray for success in this venture.)

I guess they do a little, don't they? I've noticed Tsukumogami around too. Awakened items with a bit of an axe to grind. Ngh...

Have you had much luck so far?

(They take out one of the colorful pokeballs that people have been recently using to capture various creatures and show it to her. It's blue with raised yellow ridges.)

It remains hostile.

(Needless to say, they do not open it.)

You put it in one of those things?!? I... haven't even tried one yet, but you were able to stuff it in there?

I bet it's hostile by being cooped up in a tiny ball.

Though it appears small, it has no difficulty containing creatures, and does not appear to cause harm or discomfort.

(They chatter, uncertain of how to explain. They themselves do not fully understand how Pokeballs work.)

...that is... really weird. I've never seen anything like that. It can hold a creature?

[She folded her arms and frowned, looking at the thing.]

People better not use that on each other. That'd be bad.

(They chatter, headflaps fluttering. The little lights on the side of their head flash red briefly as well.

The idea that someone could use a pokeball as a tool of slavery is ... disquieting.)

We are uncertain if this is possible.

That... is totally for the best, but just wait. The Void will screw it u and one of us is going to get ...

Though death is not possible here, significant injury will likely be effective at dissuading attempts at enslavement.

(Legion has some ideas about what can be done about anyone who deliberately attempts to capture and keep another person as a pet.)

I just got chills there for a second... [She laughed nervously.] Yeah, you're right. If I ever hear of anyone doing that, I will absolutely sick you on them.

It's fine, Legion. [She giggled.] It's good chills. The one who should be scared is anyone dumb enough to use that on a person, not me. If you're not intimidating me, it's not so bad to be a little intimidating.

Remember. I live with drunk demons.

They consider this. It is true: they themselves have had many allies they have admired for their intimidating capabilities. It is, however, difficult to think of themselves in such terms. Others have attacked them due to fear.)

(They are glad to have allies that do not treat them as a threat.)

[Cold, calculating threat could be quite the natural intimidation, whether they realized it or not. She grinned at Legion and nodded.]

Well, at the very least, it doesn't sound like it's an issue. So, you're trying to get this robot to behave itself a little better?

Affirmative. When released, it attacks one hundred percent of the time.

(The fluffy robots are not as cuddly as they look.)

Uh... how aware is it actually? Is it capable of rational thought, or does it only look like Geth? i wouldn't know how to tell the difference.

(They look at the ball in their hands, headflaps rippling.)

Uncertain. Its communication is largely in the form of Geth threat and hostility indicators.

(Or sounds they register as such.)

It is likely that, similar to other synthetic lifeforms, it possesses the ability to network, in which case its awareness is dependent on the presence of others of its species.

[she was clearly going back to the memory. She wondered how many did that in the effort to understand? Networking... Networking... The thoughts of all those minds, or programs. It started giving her a headache again, but she stopped after pinching at her forehead.]

It's not quite the same as you. You can't really fully communicate or network with it can you? That's how you'd put it, right?
