Who: Kimihiro, Mugetsu, hopefully you! What: A few activities to get him started. ❤ Where: Everywhere! Most threads are around Merlaut, though! When: The month of December! Content Warnings: None, just spoilers sometimes.
I'm probably spoiling the little bastard, honestly. It wants attention constantly. I don't think it's had it in a century or more. Needy little thing.
[She was muttering it as she came into view. The new arrangement o the shrine was still getting to her, but she couldn't very well deface it, not when she didn't know who she'd be pissing off, so she was trying to place nice. She grunted and glared down at the offending tool.]
Behave. I made the water clock obey. I can keep a rowdy broom in line.
(kimihiro can only agree - it makes sense that it pesters her when she was sure to let him know first thing that there was a spirit inhabiting it. still, he doesn't stop sweeping, now he's gonna clean the temple since he's at it.)
The water clock is a tsukumogami as well? (and he doesn't like that he has to ask, usually he could just feel those things. mugetsu could just feel it as well. it's starting to bother.) Maybe if we start a schedule on cleaning, it would feel useful again.
The water clock... is a water clock. It's not nearly old enough for that. I made it with stuff we found to try and study the issues we had with time. It and I got into arguments until it started keeping time properly.
...It's weird, but I think the clock was listening, though it's not 'awake' like the broom is. [She shrugged and looked over at him.] Yeah, we should keep a schedule for cleaning the shrine. If it stays well tended, it's for the best. Can't have the spirit getting wrathful can we?
(nothing weird about talking to your belongings, as you were, mizuhashi. kimihiro finally finishes the last part of the temple, putting the broom down and bowing to it with both hands met as a quiet and polite request so that it feels appeased.)
You don't mind, do you, Mizuhashi-san? My being here ever so often.
[Nothing weird at all. Especially when they actually listened and, as Legion put it? She shamed them into keeping time properly. That was a weird moment, honestly.]
You actually now what I am, and you have a not annoying spirit with you. Sure. I actually assume you'll behave yourself properly, so feel free. It's... weird being around humans who remember.
(the broom seems appeased... for now. it's time for kimihiro to find a place to sit and reveal what he had brought with him for her.)
I have something for you. (and like that, he takes the bottle he had put on the ground when he first arrived - the nicest sake he has yet tried. yokai, sake, profit.)
[She blinked when she saw the bottle. That looked like proper sake, rather than whatever alcohol she could get her hands on. Well, now... that was a thing, wasn't it? Surprised, she smiled a little and shook her head.]
You really didn't have to go hunting for me, but ... is that the real thing? It's all so random around here...
If the pipe fox likes it, then it's good rice wine. Foxes know their rice. Kind of one of their things after all. [She smirked a little, looking it over and setting it gently on a good spot.]
Didn't know you had no sense of taste. That's gotta be ... awkward sometimes. Always been that way?
That's... uh... weird. It kind of sounds like a curse, or magic or something. But I guess you'd know that I might assume that. But if that's what you've got? That's what you've got.
We'll just have to see about getting you something magical in that case.
[It was, but then again? The idea of sorcery, charms, curses, wishes and power? They were natural. Sure they could get into the 'kind' of magic, but it didn't actually matter if they weren't curing it.]
Yeah, let's get some sake cups. I have a couple simple cups in my house. Seems fitting to drink with the person you're giving the offering to.

(speaking of the sleeping devil, he gives a little snore on kimihiro's collarbone... poor thing is tired!)
I unfortunately don't have a sense of taste, so I can't tell you other than that.

(it didn't simplify anything, but listen, nothing with him is simple. he's not a simple person.)
I can taste magical things, though. Fox udon and the such.

(isn't that simple? of course he knew, considering both their backgrounds. it's a shame, he's sure there's so much to experience like that.)
Shall we drink?
