Who: Kimihiro, Mugetsu, hopefully you! What: A few activities to get him started. ❤ Where: Everywhere! Most threads are around Merlaut, though! When: The month of December! Content Warnings: None, just spoilers sometimes.
(fine, finally he found his footing. he knows where most things are, where to find most people, but mostly, he still spends a lot of time secluded in his room. his journeys are for supplies and things that can be worth his time, and this time, it's a shamisen.
this one is not like his. his own teaches him songs and the cat refuses to sound for anybody else. he knows around two songs, and there he is, practicing them out of boredom as he sits in the middle of the shrine.)
[This has been a bit of an unusual start to his day, but the sound of music is what draws Venti in from the edge of the void. He follows the sound across the bridge, eventually finding himself in a clearing with an odd shrine and a lone fellow with an instrument—something he might've seen once or twice in Liyue or Inazuma.
... but interrupting a performance would be rude! So he's just going to stand there and listen politely for awhile, wondering what the fuck is going on but also taking the time to appreciate this stranger's musical talents, practise or not. It's only once Kimihiro stops on his own that Venti offers a wave, cradling his lyre in his other hand.]
Hello there! That's quite a fine instrument you have! What do you call it?
(well, there will be no more performances from kimihiro, because aside from one other song, that would be all he knows. the one he's playing, while rather tricky, is all he has been practicing whenever he picks the instrument back home.
he has had time to master it.
when the voice reaches his ears, kimihiro snaps out of the trance to take a look at the person addressing him. this one, he hasn't met, he reckons.)
This is a shamisen. A traditional Japanese instrument. I see your lyre, may I assume you're a music lover yourself?
[Shamisen... hmm, yeah, he's pretty sure he's heard of those before in Inazuma. But this is most certainly not Inazuma, so that doesn't help him out much.
Still, he smiles.] Of course! Venti the bard, at your service—three time winner of the Most Popular Bard in Mondstadt. [never mind that those wins were in three different centuries, details]
Alas, I'm not sure if that title would mean anything to you, as this place appears to be quite far from Mondstadt indeed.
(there's an apologetic tone in his voice, along with a little embarrassed smile. it's not great to tell someone you don't know a thing about their achievements, he's very sorry, venti.
three times winner, though, he can understand and he just taps the space next to him for the other to join.)
Quite an achievement you've got, huh? Would you mind playing with me then?
Ahaha, that's a shame! But it's not so bad, being unburdened by fame. A pleasure to make your acquaintance!
[There are still plenty of questions on his mind, and he should probably be a lot more concerned about his current predicament... but also, it's not like he was busy or anything, so instead of worrying about literally any of This he's just going to sit the heck down and brandish his strings.]
You go ahead and take the lead! I'm pretty good at improvising.
(it's really a warning more than anything. it would be a shame if venti got too excited beforehand and kimihiro had already given him all he has got. off he goes!)
[It's a different song, so he needs a moment to catch the rhythm before joining in... but, true to his word, he is very good at improvising. It's with a trained ear and deft hands that he manages to keep up with the unfamiliar tune, somehow weaving in his harp in a way that doesn't sound completely awful.
When the song finally ends, he lets the last notes ring out and fade before deigning to speak.]
Hmm, not bad! You've certainly been keeping up with your practise.
