People are trying to do that...I'm not sure how to feel. I mean, can the Form, the Truth and the Purpose behind a youkai truly be changed without destroying one? Does this world even understand the issue, and how does...

guh. This place leaves me with a lot more questions than answers, even as people try to do that.

Your fate and those people's are interconnected. I believe people meet when they have to meet.

I believe we will have to see. In my point of view, you'd still be as you are in your core, but I don't know enough about this place to give you a full vision.

Hitsuzen... I'm familiar with the concept.

[It was one of those things that was natural to both their worlds. A naturally foreordained circumstance. Not the same thing as destiny or fate, but rather closer to the naturally unavoidable. They were here for a reason, which necessitated that they meet, necessitated that they interact. It necessitated change.]

And it doesn't answer the ultimate question of my kind. Do we cease to exist if there is no jealousy, or if we have none. Does that change here? Do I care?

There's a lot of unanswered questions about this place. It... makes me almost obsessed at times.

Perhaps you grow back into humanity, but we can't know until the inevitable happens. It makes sense to be restless in the face of uncertainty, Mizuhashi. Don't beat yourself up over that.

I have been this way a long time, so you're probably right. There's a lot of pent up, built up inertia in centuries of cynicism. [She snorted and laughed.] As long as I don't cease to exist.

That's always a worry for us spirits. What happens if we lose our reason to be? Assuming we don't find a new reason.

Tch, if you're talking about the bill I think you are? That's on humanity. They'll get the natural recourse of shunting us aside in time. They probably won't even realize when the butcher bill comes do that it's because we ceased to exist.

They all think they can go it on their own.

Hopefully, it comes to a balanced one. Perhaps humans can start reevaluating your existence before it's too late.

That's a nice hope, but I think we both know it's a bit of a futile one, there. But hey. might as well hope for something while you're at it. Me? I'm currently safely away from their collective stupidity. they can keep their nice, pretty sun that shines so bright.

I am human, after all, regardless of how complicated my existence is.

Yeah... I can imagine from your perspective it's a lot worse. It's kind of ... I live in a life of inevitabilities. So I look at that sort of thing as inevitable.

But it could be a long way off. The road to hell's not nearly as short as people think.
