[Exploring around the Void has become one of Zack's daily things to do. While he should figure out what to do to keep himself occupied be doesn't mind checking out what he can of the place. So eventually he finds himself wandering around the Underground Academy for the first time. And the sound of piano music notes catches is attention.

He heads that way and enters the music room only to see Tifa Lockhart there gracefully playing across the keys.

Not wanting to interrupt Zack leans against the doorframe with his arms crossed and just listens... It's really beautiful.]

[If there's one thing that separates the SOLDIER boys, it's their heavier footsteps in those thick-soled shoes, and Tifa could hear him enter the room between the quieter beats of the song. She doesn't pause, nor does she falter in the notes, continuing to play as if she hadn't noticed him come in.

And just as she hits the last of the notes and lets the tone fade, she speaks up, eyes still closed and a soft, relaxed smile gracing her lips.]

A standing ovation? You shouldn't have.

[Zack is very much relaxed as he finishes her notes. Leaning against the frame of the door with an easy going smile on his face. And once it wraps up Zack gives her an applause worthy of it.]

Best music I've heard in years, I'd give you two standing ovations if I could.

[His grin brightens.]

I almost forgot you were good at the piano.

Been a long time since I've played one.

[She'd almost forgotten, too. It's kind of nice that she was able to pick it up again so quickly, if not surprising. It really is just like riding a bike for her.]

Don't come across them much on the ground floor, unless you wander into the fancier parts of Wall Market. [And even then... she would never recommend anyone visit.] What brings you down here? Looking for an instrument to play, too?

[He doesn't suspect that many people in the slums have access to actual pianos either. They're kind of an expensive item to have and the slums just aren't the place for them. But it's good to see that she's still able to play like it's second nature. Kind of makes him wish he had learned to play something when he was young. But he'd probably be pretty bad at anything that was something ... drums? Maybe? Bang bang.]

I was just wandering around looking for something to do. Don't think I could play the piano, I got these big meaty man fingers.

[He wiggles his fingers in the air.]

[She wiggles her own much smaller fingers back.]

You run out of things to do upstairs? Here I was thinking Aerith was keeping you busy.

[What with the church and all, but Tifa knows that she has more than enough help with it. Everyone seems so eager to assist each other around here, it'd really be no surprise if he'd done all he could do.]

I know the feeling. Most of us have done just about everything around here by now...

Don't worry, my missions for Aerith are always my first priority.

[Salute-! And if he's anything, he's a workaholic. He gets that shit done ASAP. No one leaves Aerith waiting- at least not anymore. He's doing his best with that.]

But we are all doing our best to make a life around here, I guess. It's nice to see. I think we should be pretty glad we don't have dragons dropping on our heads or something.

[At least not right now...]

Careful what you wish for!

[Lest he really does want dragons dropping on his head. It's bad enough that they have those creepy pseudo-cactuars to deal with... What kind of dragon abomination would this world even come up with, she wonders? Not an idea that she wants to conjure up right now. Or ever.

She droops her head, shoulders slumping only a touch, but the change is noticeable.]

It's been a little tough... trying to find something to do. [Well, not for her, but—] Cloud, especially.

[Zack notes it, eyebrow raising with a curious note in his eyes.]

Hm? Is Cloudy boy getting restless?

[He crosses his arms over his chest. He's not teasing. He might've noticed it a bit too. They had searched the mountain ruins lately and Cloud had been a focused force like he was glad to have done something.]

Guess it's not all mako reactors and explosions out here, huh...

I think so. We all are...

[Even Tifa, who is just as happy with what she's got going on right now but being cooped up in Wall Market all day has its downsides, too.]

What we need is something to do... to feel useful, you know? Like we're making a difference. Me, not so much, but Cloud...? It's like he's all over the place right now.
