[Finding that admission a little surprising, since those of a more affable nature seemed to rely more on humor, ill-timed or otherwise. In a way he could appreciate that. If she had pressed it, he might have capitulated, his spirits were running higher than usual lately.

He watched as she inspected the other objects in the room. When she posed her question, he took a look himself, eyes lingering on a violin. Hadn't that been the instrument of choice for his step-brother? Also- they carried a level of prestige about them. Breaking his gaze he looked to the floor before meeting her eyes]

One that plays itself- or is capable of a digital output so I could incorporate one skill with another. [Ie. so he could make his own musical scores for his other projects] A keyboard would be the most conducive since they also can be programmed to produce a wide variety of tones.

[As it happens, there's a single keyboard in the room, not far from the drum set she'd been inspecting, tapping her nail against each piece and creating small beats with it while she listened to him talk. She wanders over to it and very tentatively flicks it on, not even sure if it would work.

Lo and behold... When Tifa presses down on the keys, it makes a sound. Less dramatic than the grand piano, but like a piano nonetheless. She presses some buttons and it now sounds galaxy-like.]

Oh, this one's fancy! Like we're flying in the stars like in the movies or something!

[This is definitely what he meant, right?]

Why not give it a whirl?

[If he'd been thinking strategically he would have picked something bizarre that wasn't present (like a theremin), because he did have a feeling that she was going to try and convince him to try one of these instruments yet. Sure enough she was soon to locate a keyboard. It would require electricity however so the likelihood of it workin-

-well darn. It definitely isn't on par with the grand piano or it's rich tonal quality but the keyboard does have more versatility, and if you can play a keyboard you can play a piano. It wasn't long before she had found a unique setting and was testing it out.]

It would be appropriate for that sort of usage.

[Liking what he was hearing but not gushing about it. When the inevitable question arose, he gave a shrug and approached the indicated object. His resistance wasn't that hard to wear down today so he would indulge her just this once. It wasn't as if he had another way to show his appreciation for being allowed to listen to the impromptu concert.

Not making an attempt to actually play something, he ran his fingers along the keys, generating more of the galaxy-esque sounds. Then he started to fiddle with some of the buttons too. When he was done it started playing the preprogrammed demo songs.]

Most of these come with a setting like this, but you can edit in your own.

[The mix of the galaxy-like sounds makes her wince a little, but she hides it behind a smile as her foot taps against the ground to the beat of them. When put together like that, it's... interesting, to say the least. Not quite what she was expecting, but she's pleasantly surprised by the sudden song it starts to play instead.]

Now this is more like it!

[The tapping of her foot turns into a full bop.]

With one of these, it's like you could make a whole band. A one-man show.

[Oh no, she's getting ideas... and it's plain enough in the way she grins at him, even if she has a feeling his answer will be a vehement NO. :) ]

[The cacophony of sounds was far from melodious in the beginning as he tested the apparatus. It was highly responsive, that was certainly a point in it's favor. Can't argue with functionality. It's not surprising when the later portion is more readily accepted. Music, isn't that far removed from formulas, each beat held for a specific amount of time, each measure a sum of a whole. You could strip out all the romanticism and come up with something useable.]

Heh, not that I could take credit for something that was already set into the system.

[At least she derived some enjoyment from it]

Theoretically speaking, but in practice I think not. Leave that for someone with real talent for music.

Uh huh...

[Good thing there seems to be quite a handful of people here who are musically inclined—she won't have to bother him to join them in their musical endeavors, and he can just sit back and listen instead!

That does beg the question, though...]

So, what would you say you're talented at, if not music?

[Good, because the nagging would be awful. And it would have been hilarious to see her try and possibly succeed. Whether he attended or not was another story, but it would be easier to swing.]

I'm a computer programmer, entrepreneur, inventor, and a championship duelist. [Then just so no one starts envisioning him brandishing a foil] .. That last part is referring to participants of a game called duel monsters. Only those capable of the most complicated strategies are able to really compete.

Those are the things I excel at. [Also insults. When he's so inclined]

Yes, Duel Monsters.

[She seemed to puzzle over the idea for a few moments, but Kaiba had no way of predicting what would follow. The whole Pokémon thing was kind of a sticking point with him, both because they had access to their monsters and he didn't.. and he wasn't on the best of terms with some of the trainers he'd met.

So when she made the innocent mistake he huffed and moved away from the instruments in a huff, his voice booming out the following:]

No.. I mean Duel Monsters, not those cheap knockoff, off brand wannabes!

[Tifa watches, brows knitting together further as she realizes that she may have struck a nerve. That's fine, she can take it.

But calling the Pokemon cheap knockoffs?]

Every world is different! Sorry, didn't realize.

[Although she doesn't seem too upset by the fact that she had mistaken them with one another. In fact, she giggles at his huffing and puffing.]

You should tell me about them sometime. I think it'd be fun!

[Kaiba sure did call them that. If circumstances had been different, and duel monsters was more popular here than Pokémon he might have been able to see some merit in them. Perhaps if he had a better rapport with any of the trainers that might have been possible too, but mostly the trainers looked down on his monsters or scoffed about cardstock. Same verse, different mouth spouting it or sometimes it was just the body language that said it all.

The trainers were too full of themselves from Kaiba's perspective. And considering who he is... well. he was an expert in the field of ego]

Hmph, they are.

[Not even feeling like refuting the different 'world' theory]

Someone should, and seeing as I'm the only one who can...

[He raised his left arm which has his duel disk strapped to it and pulled out a card to show it to her]

These are duel monsters. They don't come from inside a pokeball, and I currently can't really summon them since the device required isn't functioning.
