((ooc: this log is gonna be used for a few practice sessions, as well as a practice game and other such things! Iwaizumi will be sharing his knowledge with everyone and acting as a coach of sorts until the practice game, so feel free to use the TLs to interact with him, or make your own TLs under the sections to start your own threads with your teammates or others participating! also, if you are not a player but want to be in the audience or are playing another role, feel free to make TLs reflecting that! everyone is welcome (walk/ins included!) (Ren's very competitive and the fact that there's a certain someone on the rival team made the victory taste sweeter. He's quiet, as he usually is, but does he need to say anything? He has a smile on his face that just gives away how pleased he is with himself, the cocky, arrogant bastard.

Catch him sip on his coffee, people-watching for now.)

[Nothing wrong with being a little cocky after a victory, especially if you’re quiet at the same time. Iwaizumi wears a knowing smile as he approaches him (and lowkey takes a piece of cake).]

Nice playing out there, Ren. Who knew you could kick ass like that?

[Plenty of people, just not Iwaizumi.]

(Half of the other team, but Ren keeps the comment to himself. Instead, he just expands the smile, absurdly pleased with the comment.)

Thanks. (Although he has to admit, there's still much training to be done. He'll be here practicing with Iwai - it was surely nice to see everyone together for something so simple, having fun after so much chaos over the past few months.)

And I told you the same.

Feels good, doesn't it? Now that’s my game. [He says, simply brimming with pride - and not just for his own playing. It’s his team, the sport itself, the experience altogether that’s finally brought him some peace on this place.]

I sure as hell missed it.

(He had meant more as in the actual event, but sure, that they could win as well. Iwaizumi, however, seems to be glowing more than he is. Good, that what Ren likes to see!)

I'm not much for sports, but it was fun.

(Ren did give a hundred percent, though. It's, again, competitiveness that drove him, and also the whole rivalry thing he has with Akechi only made him hungrier for victory.

The aftermath is also nice - watching everyone get along, talking. Well deserved.)

Could have fooled me. Like I said, you kicked ass out there, and you didn’t slack at practice either.

I’m impressed.

(He finally just accepts the comment, nodding and thanking before he sips on the coffee.)

[Iwaizumi holds up the piece of cake he (maybe not-so) subtly grabbed when they began this conversation.]

About to. [And he takes a bite - delicious.] Where’d you manage to dig this up?

The church.

(Or better, the flower shop with cake on display. He hasn't seen Iwaizumi there yet, so he's assuming the other has no idea where it is.)

I work there too.

You really do got your finger on the pulse around here, don’t you?

[Two jobs? What could they even pay?]

(Heavenly Blanc pays with connection. Ren knows everyone, since it's the most visible establishment of the Void. The church doesn't pay, but he gets to help someone he likes a lot - Aerith, who manages the church itself. He just arranges bouquets and makes sure all the plants are happy and healthy.)

I guess that itself has value. You were definitely a help in getting this together. [He gestures around the gym, smiling as he does so. He can’t really express how much he appreciates that.

[Of course, himself standing by the sign up list and harassing anyone who walked by for a week probably did its fair share too.]

Whatever I can do to help.

(That has been Ren's mindset since the beginning. Being here can be depressing, but if he can help, even if it's just by providing good coffee and company, he'll do it.

He requires no payment to make others happy, and this certainly went in that.)

[He glances back at the court as he finishes his cake and deposits his trash in the nearest receptacle.]
