OPEN - am I blue? you'd be too
Who: Blue Oak and yoooou
Where: Mt. Silver's peak, Heavenly Blanc, and Mortis Lake (maybe Merlaut Apartments later)
When: throughout voidcember!
What: Between Red and Lance vanishing, Ren and Akechi seemingly vanishing, and Mementos, Blue has been having a real Bad Time.
Content Warnings: alcohol abuse, depression
A. Mortis Lake Forest
[When Blue is stressed out, he has a few ways of dealing with it. The healthiest one, thankfully, comes first.]
[Although they may not having all their usual abilities, having his full team of Pokémon back meant that Blue could get back into the swing of a training routine, and that was at least the first step in keeping his mind straight. Mortis Lake was a great place for this- Gyarados chills in the lake waters for a happy soak while Exeggutor sits amongst the other trees next to a meditating Alakazam, watching as Blue directs Arcanine and Pidgeot in Agility training. Eevee is trying to follow along, although even quick as he is, he can't make such powerful single bounds and dashes as the powerful 'windy' Pokémon can.]
Come on, Arcanine! A little quicker! This time, try to make it to that notched tree over there and back before Pidgeot makes it to that treetop and back! [Blue calls, absorbed in his training. He looks... exhausted, almost like he himself has been pushing at this for hours without a break. You'll have to forgive him and his Pokémon if they don't see you directly in the path of their makeshift training arena.]
B. Heavenly Blanc
[Whether it's before the disappearance of his coworker or after, patrons of Heavenly Blanc might find the bar.... less regularly manned than it usually is. At first, maybe one could chalk it up to the strange sleep cycles everyone has found themselves beholden to, but those that catch the bar's usual tender might realize that's not the only reason.]
[Those that knew him well probably knew Blue was a fan of the bottle to begin with, but the way he's slumped over the bar, or in of the booths, or laying spread eagle on the floor probably makes it obvious this isn't just his usual casual, raucous overdrinking. If a patron enters while he's miserably laying about, he'll blink up slowly, squint, and try to roll himself up. Gotta... get back to work...]
Ah, customer... jus' gimme a second...
C. Mt. Silver's Peak
[And when he just can't bring himself to face the outside world anymore, he goes to where's most familiar to him.]
[...It's sort of laughable that it's this place. It hurts, more than it helps; huddled up on the cavern at the peak, Blue looks out over the world of the void that he can see in glimpses between the veils of snow that fall, below the misty cloudcover that swirls this high up. He wonders if Red always looked down over Kanto like this, wanting to return, but unable to bear it. That was probably how it felt, right? ...Who can know what that guy was ever feeling, or thinking...]
[Blue tucks his face into his knees and sniffles, hard and gross, shivering against the warmth of his Arcanine, who whines and nuzzles against him. That idiot.... there was no way of knowing what had happened to him- if he had slipped and fallen down the mountain, if he'd gotten eaten in those terrible corridors full of monsters and mouths- or if he'd simply ...gotten tired of people again, and vanished somewhere. Gotten tired of him again.]
[Well, in the end, as Blue had always supposed back then- he wouldn't blame him.]

[She said before sitting next to him wondering what else she could do. Now that she thought about it, she never encountered someone in a drunken state quite like this. She had only heard stories about how people act like this when things got really difficult.
That being said?]
But are you okay? I don't know what caused you to drink this much but I wish you are well.
no subject
[O-oh... Oh, was that the plan? Yeah, he supposes so; if he's gonna close the bar up for the day.... Well, the only other place he could think to head up to is.....]
[Blue wipes at his eyes and continues to think about how super lame he was to meet a girl like this. Man, she probably thinks he's a creep!!]
[As for why he's drinking? Where to begin...] ...It's a long story. Um, are you new? Don't think I've seen you around...
[Boy, he didn't think there would still be new people cropping up, here. That was both kind of scary and.. kind of hopeful?]
no subject
[She said before looking at him once more. She didn't know what made him want to cry but she wasn't going to push it. He would be willing to tell her whenever he was ready.
Whatever it might be, it must be something really bad for him to drink this much.]
no subject
[New? New-new?? If people could still come here, then maybe...]
[Blue's mouth twists, and he glances off to the side, like he's thinking.]
...'m Blue. My best friends disappeared recently.... [He rests his head back on the bartop, morose.] ...I didn't know people could come and go from this place like that... But I dunno what else could have happened to them. It's not like either of them to get lost or hurt.
no subject
[She said with a soft smile. However, she couldn't help but let her own sadness show through. She just recently lost her leader and a friend(?) here too.] I wasn't aware of that myself but I like to believe they are somewhere safe. As much as I wish for your friends to be well, it is important to believe they will be okay in the end.
[Or at least she really hoped so!]
no subject
[Hesitantly, Blue dips his chin in agreement.] Well, if they made their way home somehow, they're fine.... But they shoulda brought me with 'em, in that case! Buncha jerks.
[Don't mind him, lib wobbling, trying obstinately not to sniffle.] W-whatever, people here aren't so bad. Sorry for you to find me in such a sad state, Haru-chan.
no subject
You mustn't apologize! If you wish to cry, then you are more than welcome to! It is more important to let your feelings out rather than bottling it in!
[Then she gave a small frown before it quickly turned into a smile] I know it didn't work well for me and I do not want you to feel the same way.
no subject
[And it wasn't an easy wall to let go of, either. Building those up was tough when you were as prone to emotion as Blue was- it had been a life-long project. But Haru's insistence makes him hesitate visibly, although he still doesn't seem to be able to allow himself to just let it out with a hard clench, a bob of his Adam's apple as he swallows a new wave of tears back down.]
Really.... It's okay, [He lies, poorly- and he knows it- but at least maybe she'll take pity on him enough to let him slide by. Crying alone was way easier, anyway...] I think I'll head back to my place, like you said.
[He tries to steady himself and rise from his seat, but there's a bit of a stumble involved. Ah, he'd better get his Pokémon to help him.] Haru-chan, thanks for lending me an ear for a minute. Well, you're free to hang around in here, if you want- not like I charge for the drinks anyway.
[He tries to flash her a kidding grin, even despite the grimace it's bitten through.]
no subject
She wasn't sure but she simply waited for what he would say next. As she watched him struggle to hold back a sob, she patted his back. It wasn't much but she hoped it would provide him enough comfort of sorts.]
Very well, do you need me to carry you back home or are y-
[Of course her words were cut short the moment he stumbled. Taking a step in front and placing her arms out, she hade to make sure he was safe.]
It's not a problem but are you sure you can go home by yourself? [In return, she gave him a look of concern. She just met him but even so? She knew that he needed to stop being so overly confident.]
no subject
[He sways and catches himself again on the edge of the bar, glancing away with a sheepish cringe. Sheesh, normally, he just passed out over the back of one of his Pokémon or something... This girl seemed like the type who would worry if she didn't see him home, though.]
[Then again, making some girl he had just met carry him home seemed kind of pathetic... and totally rude! Sis would kill him if she knew!!]
That really wouldn't be cool of me, [He tries to protest, but his head swims, and he can't quite focus his eyes.] I-I don't wanna take you with me when I fall over, haha.
...But, I guess it wouldn't be bad to have someone to help out...
[With some lack of coordination, he unclips a Pokéball from his belt and holds it out, releasing from within it a flash of light that forms into an enormous, fluffy dog. Arcanine gives a short, worrisome BOOF and whines, crouching against Blue to guide him to flop over his back. Clearly, he's used to this behavior....] Uh, if you wanna help walk me and Arcanine back, I guess... Don't wanna worry you.
no subject
The moment he held it out, she couldn't believe her eyes. Immediately, there was a squeal of delight as she saw a big fluffy dog in front of her!] Goodness, what a cute dog! I was not aware you had a companion with you the entire time!
[That being said, the look on her face does seem to suggest she does want to pet him. But she wasn't so sure as she didn't know what Arcanine's reaction would be like.]
no subject
[Blue's voice is muffled into Arcanine's fur a bit as he manages to wriggle himself up over the canine's back, fingers digging into the fluff to hold on. Arcanine stands tall once his trainer is safely aboard and then looks to Haru with a wag of his tail, patiently, carefully eying her and sniffing to acquaint himself.] Ark..
[Wiggle-wiggle. That seems like a doggy way of saying, go for it!]
no subject
Her father wouldn't allow it!
But now she has?] I didn't know his fur was so soft! You're lucky, Blue-san, I wish I had a dog like this! And one that is so nice to take its owner back home!
[And yes, she's still petting Arcanine and having the time of her life!]
no subject
He's real fluffy, right? [Blue gushes, a little slurred- but at least it was lifting his spirits to think of his Pokémon, instead of the fellow trainers who'd vanished-] An' he's a Fire type, so he's soooo warm when you hug 'im! Oh, but he can't use his flames for some reason, 'round here... Wonder why....
[Now that he's flopped over Arcanine, Blue can let his head spin as much as it likes, and his eyes pinch shut. Arcanine wags his bushy tail as Haru pats him, prancing in place to make sure Blue was settled before leading the group towards the door of the bar. At least he was sure to get back safe, with them all together.] Thanks... for your help, really...
no subject
She didn’t mean to get carried away but how could she resist?]
It’s not a problem, I’m glad I could help. [That being said, she looked at Arcanine and then back at Blue] Do you think you are able to let your owner go back home safely? [She didn’t mind going with Blue if need be but only if the pokemon was okay with it]
no subject
[Blue scrubs his fingers into Arcanine's fur and sheepishly grins towards her.]
Yeah.... Hope the next time we can hang out will be less, um, troublesome.
no subject
[She said with a smile. She was taking a leap of faith by calling him a friend. They had just met but she sure hoped this would be the start of something new!]
Just take care, okay? If you need anything, let me know!
