OPEN - am I blue? you'd be too
Who: Blue Oak and yoooou
Where: Mt. Silver's peak, Heavenly Blanc, and Mortis Lake (maybe Merlaut Apartments later)
When: throughout voidcember!
What: Between Red and Lance vanishing, Ren and Akechi seemingly vanishing, and Mementos, Blue has been having a real Bad Time.
Content Warnings: alcohol abuse, depression
A. Mortis Lake Forest
[When Blue is stressed out, he has a few ways of dealing with it. The healthiest one, thankfully, comes first.]
[Although they may not having all their usual abilities, having his full team of Pokémon back meant that Blue could get back into the swing of a training routine, and that was at least the first step in keeping his mind straight. Mortis Lake was a great place for this- Gyarados chills in the lake waters for a happy soak while Exeggutor sits amongst the other trees next to a meditating Alakazam, watching as Blue directs Arcanine and Pidgeot in Agility training. Eevee is trying to follow along, although even quick as he is, he can't make such powerful single bounds and dashes as the powerful 'windy' Pokémon can.]
Come on, Arcanine! A little quicker! This time, try to make it to that notched tree over there and back before Pidgeot makes it to that treetop and back! [Blue calls, absorbed in his training. He looks... exhausted, almost like he himself has been pushing at this for hours without a break. You'll have to forgive him and his Pokémon if they don't see you directly in the path of their makeshift training arena.]
B. Heavenly Blanc
[Whether it's before the disappearance of his coworker or after, patrons of Heavenly Blanc might find the bar.... less regularly manned than it usually is. At first, maybe one could chalk it up to the strange sleep cycles everyone has found themselves beholden to, but those that catch the bar's usual tender might realize that's not the only reason.]
[Those that knew him well probably knew Blue was a fan of the bottle to begin with, but the way he's slumped over the bar, or in of the booths, or laying spread eagle on the floor probably makes it obvious this isn't just his usual casual, raucous overdrinking. If a patron enters while he's miserably laying about, he'll blink up slowly, squint, and try to roll himself up. Gotta... get back to work...]
Ah, customer... jus' gimme a second...
C. Mt. Silver's Peak
[And when he just can't bring himself to face the outside world anymore, he goes to where's most familiar to him.]
[...It's sort of laughable that it's this place. It hurts, more than it helps; huddled up on the cavern at the peak, Blue looks out over the world of the void that he can see in glimpses between the veils of snow that fall, below the misty cloudcover that swirls this high up. He wonders if Red always looked down over Kanto like this, wanting to return, but unable to bear it. That was probably how it felt, right? ...Who can know what that guy was ever feeling, or thinking...]
[Blue tucks his face into his knees and sniffles, hard and gross, shivering against the warmth of his Arcanine, who whines and nuzzles against him. That idiot.... there was no way of knowing what had happened to him- if he had slipped and fallen down the mountain, if he'd gotten eaten in those terrible corridors full of monsters and mouths- or if he'd simply ...gotten tired of people again, and vanished somewhere. Gotten tired of him again.]
[Well, in the end, as Blue had always supposed back then- he wouldn't blame him.]

[Blue gibbers; Turing's panic was becoming his own panic, and he does the complete opposite of relaxing; he scrambles to push himself up on his hands and knees, suddenly feeling the world sway in his head. Ugh--]
That's- you don't have to worry abou-- ngh. [Okay, maybe moving was a bad idea after all. Queasy and nose stuffed from crying was a bad mix.]
[Not to mention that swirling pitting in his stomach that wasn't from the nausea. He thought of Turing sort of like a kid protegé, despite, well, everything- so it was pretty pitiful for the ROM to catch him in such a state.] I'm f-fine....
no subject
Your words are not very convincing!
[ Turing wasn't about to contradict Blue if he was that insistent about it, but the fact remained that even if he said he was fine, his watery eyes and congested nose said otherwise. ]
Please at least take this.
[ They offered the napkin to him. ]
oops that html
[Sheesh. What a mess.]
[He sits there with a heavy sigh for a moment, trying to avoid meeting Turing's soft blue glow, and letting himself just sit upright until he felt like there was a chance of being able to stand. No good if he falls over onto Turing...]
...I guess I should have just stayed home or something, [He grumbles sheepishly, glancing around the bar.] Ahh, I know me....
no subject
That was also when Turing finally noticed Blue was avoiding looking at them; they had been so busy fretting that that detail had been overlooked. He had also said he'd had too much... Oh! Of course! ]
I'm sorry! I neglected to take any current sensitivity to light into account. I'll reduce the brightness on my display.
[ They did so right away, but there still was a frown on Turing's face. Something was definitely wrong, and whatever it was, Blue didn't seem to want to tell them about it, which of course made them worry even more. Instead of prodding for answers though, Turing sat down next to him in case he needed the company. They certainly weren't averse to having a little company right then, at least. ]
Most likely, yes. [ Oops, there was that honesty again. ] But... I'm glad you're here.
no subject
[Ah-- well, that wasn't the whole reason he'd been avoiding Turing's face, but then again- it did totally help.] Um, thanks, [He mumbles, meeting Turing's eyes once before darting away again.]
[Shame. An overwhelming kind of shame.... Then again, Blue wasn't sure how much the little ROM knew about that, either. Probably for the best. He thinks the guy could do without suffering some of this human indignity.]
Oh... why's that? [Blue mumbles, watching as Turing pops a seat next to him. In truth, he was equally glad- Turing was a good lad, and of the various people in the void, Blue was sure he could trust them with his current state, and his feelings.] I mean, I'm kinda... a mess.....
no subject
[ They just blurted that right out, regardless of whether it sounded embarrassing or not. They paired it with a little smile too. It didn't matter whether Blue could see it or not, that was what came out anyway. Maybe Blue was feeling shame, but Turing sure didn't sound shy or ashamed about just saying that without a care. ]
It is reassuring to know that you haven't disappeared...
no subject
[It wasn't very easy for him to just accept simple truths like that, but hearing it said so plainly was still kind of moving. Moreso than he expected it to be. He reaches up to wipe the tear away, lip wobbling as he tries to think of something to say to that, but not finding the right words that didn't sound too lame and sappy.]
Huh...? Did you think I had? [He manages to say with a strained voice, holding back anymore crying, and glancing towards Turing with surprise.] ...I guess I've been kinda avoiding people lately. Sorry.
no subject
It's okay! I'm not upset with you! [ Now that they thought about it, maybe it was kind of like that time. Turing's gaze slowly fell to the floor. ]
I know that there are times when being alone is preferable.
no subject
[But in truth, he never really wanted to be alone... Right? He glances towards Turing out of the corner of his eye. Pretty amazing that a robot could read the room about his mood better than a lot of people could.]
Nah... I'm still here. 's those other losers that've gone missing on me... as usual. [Blue ruffles a hand in the back of his spikes, irritated, trying to regain his cool a little.] Typical...
no subject
[ They really did not understand Blue's grumpiness in that regard. It was pretty clear that he was upset, so why say that now?
Why so tsun, Blue? Then again, whether they realized it or not, they knew a thing or two about lashing out when they were upset. They had their answer to one of the previous questions as well; people who were important to Blue (...right?) were now gone on some level. Turing reached out to him, though their hand recoiled for a moment at that irritated ruffling of hair, and patted his arm. Honestly, it seemed like Blue needed a hug after all that, but maybe that would be a little forward, they decided. ]
Does it happen that often?
no subject
...That Red.... He's always disappearing. [Blue agrees, arms wrapping around his knees as he slides into a hunched sit.] When we were growing up.... I didn't see him for a long time. So it's not like it's something new, it's just...
[His lip works in his teeth, trying to look more irritated than crushed.] I didn't think it'd happen again, that's all...
no subject
Turing didn't know whether Red had disappeared entirely or had just gone off on his own, but for their own personal reasons, the former was the only option they would be considering. ]
Constantly disappearing in such a way is very inconsiderate!
[ There was more, but maybe it wasn't a good idea to scold Red from afar when Blue was obviously very attached to him. ]
no subject
[Blue gives a bit of a pained grin, softening as he glances over at Turing. What a good kid... Blue reaches over and pats a hand stop Turing's head, like he might have ruffled one of his juniors back home, and it makes him feel nostalgic for a moment- even a little better.]
So when I see that idiot again, I'm gonna flip that stupid hat off his head so hard it's gonna give him whiplash. Help me out and doubleteam 'im with a wedgie, alright?
[He's using his senpai powers for good, okay]
no subject
I...don't know what a "wedgie" is, but I would be happy to lend you my aid!
[ Too bad the poor kouhai over here doesn't know what they're agreeing to ]
