Good.

[There's a beat. He's expecting a complex swirl of emotions, a surge of anxiety or fear -- but there's nothing. Just relief, evident in the way his eyes soften for another moment before he pushes his coffee cup aside and rises to his feet. Ren is happy to see him. That much is obvious.

A few steps close the distance between them, then he takes Ren's chin in one gloved hand to give him a smirk meant for him, and him alone.]

It's the same for me.

[With that out of the way, he lets go of Ren's chin and brushes past him, intending to leave.]

There are people here who need to see you. [He flicks a hand carelessly, as if to indicate the state of Heavenly Blanc itself, and the Void at large.] Once you're finished with them, come find me. I'll be waiting.

[He doesn't say "in our apartment." That's for Ren to figure out himself.]

[Akechi just nods, once, and lets the bell on the door jingle merrily as he closes it behind him. Now that he knows Ren is here, somehow, he can breathe more easily. There would be time for explanations, of course, questions and answers. He'd resigned himself to this return to the Void being wholly without Ren -- and, much to his own surprise, he was at peace with that.

He and Ren would meet again; of that much, he'd been certain, even back in Tokyo. With the return to the Void, it's sooner than he was expecting, but far from unwelcome. He'll check in on a few things as well, but he's well aware that he doesn't have quite as many people who are anxiously waiting for news of him.

No, for now, he returns to the apartment Ren shares with him, taking a long moment to reacquaint himself with it. As always, it's overwhelmed with life; he takes the watering can to water a few of them, though they don't really need it. He sweeps a few of fallen petals away, strips the sheets and shakes them out to freshen them up in lieu of a proper washing, cracks a window to air out the room. It's easy to fall back into habits he'd quite literally forgotten during his time away. The fresh air, slightly chilled from the mountains outside, smells like freedom. Like having a future.

So -- he'll wait as long as he needs to for Ren to return.]
