[She grabbed for the thing as it squawked and shrieked, hauling it up by the ...hands? These things were seriously weird. With a fight on her hands she managed to get it out of the stall, away from the barbecue and hurled it down the path. there was a bang and a clatter, followed by a scuttle as the thing tore off down the way.
Panting and getting to her feet, she looked over at Tifa and grunted.]
They're about that annoying.
no subject
What are those things!? I've seen them once already, but no one knows what they are.

[She dusted herself off and gave Tifa a sort of pointed look. When she did, her gaze started at the boots and went all the way up and down. It was the kind of gaze that probably would have gotten a construction worker decked, if it weren't for the fact that there didn't seem to be any actual oggling going on. She was inspecting the woman.
Yeah... yeah... in better light, fuck she'd be jealous of this woman, but that wasn't the important part.]
When you look at yourself. Do you, you know, feel... look... right? Like ignore any fancy powers you might secretly have. Do you feel and look like you normally do? Because I do, but everything else is like ... a memory. Some stuff's perfect. Some stuff.... [A squawk off in the distance, and a clatter.] Not.
no subject
Besides the fact that none of us ever feel hungry or tired? I guess I am pretty much all the same. [Though, she's never really stopped to think about it otherwise before. She looks down at her feet, and then to her gloved hands.] Only problem is, can't figure out how to get these to work.
[Tifa raises a fist, pointing to the glass balls embedded in her glovesโsix of them, all different colours. That's about the only thing different about herself since coming here.]
no subject
That's about what I thought. You look like a normal human. Didn't think there was anything like a youkai in you when I first saw you. Wanted to be sure. It sounds like those [She gestured towards the gloves.] are a power of some sort. Like mine. Those things don't seem to work, and the stuff we'd have to do to live? Breathe, Eat, Drink, Sleep... that's all wrong.
But you look and feel normal to yourself. I look and feel normal to myself. Everything outside of ourselves? Not 'quite' right. It's like it's using our memories and jamming them together when the pieces don't fit. So we get pig chickens with hands for feet. We end up with a church that's selling pastries instead of its altar. A bar and a cafe crammed together.

Tifa sighs, quiet and sharp, and distracts herself with the sauces on the counter, pausing to read them to bring her mind back to where she is now.]
Do you think we're the ones doing this?
no subject
[She bit her finger while looking out over the dilapidated facilities, her green eyes sparkling angrily. She wasn't happy. She hated how little she knew. She was always one of the last to find out, but this was something else entirely.]
We're not doing it consciously. I can't. People worshiped me, but I'm not what you'd call a god. Not a real one. Just an old spirit people came to for help. [She grumbled.]
But it might be reacting to our memories. So ... maybe? Which... I'm going to just say this once. If that's the case, I'm actually sorry for anything I spawn besides the bridge. I'm not really a ... pleasant person.
no subject
I don't think so.
[She smiles, trying to sound as reassuring as she can be, current circumstances notwithstanding. She hopes that Parsee can still see it with those glowing eyes of hers, even as Tifa starts to stuff the sauce jars back into the cupboard where she assumes they came from.]
I've met what you'd call some real unpleasant people, and you aren't one.
[The Shinra executives, Don Corneo...]
Doesn't sound like there's much we can do about what we bring here, and I doubt any of us would do anything dangerous on purpose.
no subject
[She laughed sadly a little bit and glanced over her shoulder. Tifa wasn't exactly wrong. Compared to Rufus? Don Corneo? She was a drop in the bucket. She was capable of being downright malicious with the right excuse, but she wasn't someone who reveled in that malice. Closer to a little force of nature that cropped up every now and again.]
I'm not near as bad as some, I guess. I'm not out to wreck the world or anything. [Well, not today anyway. People were paying attention to her.] But I'm a spirit of jealousy. Some days, that's easy to deal with. Some days, not. It's not personal, usually.
But you're probably right. Still, if you guys get Kappa, sorry about that. They're annoying as hell.
no subject
The word 'kappa' rings a bell in Tifa's head though, and she pauses in pocketing one of the sauces before she turns around to fully face Parsee, hands anchoring on the counter as she leans back to almost sit on them.
...
....
Oh!]
Kappa... That's not similar to a koopa, is it?
no subject
[You know what? She remembered the woodcuts and paintings they used to do of kappa. There was a very real similarity to the turtle demons with bowls at the top of their heads and that big bastard. At the same time, Kappa as she knew them were just as much pranksters and dangerous as the drawings, but they were all almost identical dressed women... like all the spirits in Gensokyo. Their hats were their bowls and King Koopa didn't have a bowl on his head.]
So... I think on the surface? He looks like a bigger, more powerful version of how humans used to draw them on Earth. But he's not a water spirit, so... maybe one world's version is different from another?
Yeah, I think that's probably about right. Similar, not same. They're all basically geniuses at one dumb skill or another, and really curious about everything, getting into everyone's business and challenging people to dangerous games. None of them know the same skill, so every time they try to work together, they fuck everything up horribly and it ends up a massive mess.
Best to just keep the idiots busy.
no subject
They sound like a handful.
[Reminds her of Johnny, a little. Bless his soul, she kind of misses his antics.
And nothing like what she knows about Bowser from their first and only interaction so far at Heavenly Blanc. He seems a little more put together than that, and much less annoying.]
I bet Bowser could put them in their place if they ever did come here. Or maybe... he'll create an army of them. Then I think we're in trouble.
[She very much doubts that.
Taking a look around the small stand now, Tifa hums to herself.]
Well, I think that just about wraps up my business here. Was thinking of checking out the rest of the place... see what made it here. Wanna join me?
no subject
Yeah... I think let's explore a bit. We're not going to find anything more in this stall anyway. You know this place, so lead the way. I'll play torch
gonna wrap this if thats cool with you!
[Way, way up at the top of Wall Market. She knows exactly what she's looking for, and quite possiblyโwho. Her biggest fear when this showed up was that the people came with it, and even if they are so far so good, she can never be too careful.]
Let's go.
