We hereby start the Void Calendar! All over the Void since yesterday, several handwritten notes have been taped or stapled to the Void's most populated areas in the hopes to drive the people to the popular bar/cafe. Heavenly Blanc's exterior has been protected from any upcoming storms by a large awning, and more tables and chairs have been temporarily set to settle any issues of overcrowding on the inside. Upon entering, one will be able greeted by the aroma of curry, although the spices vary from pot to pot, and coffee and alcohol will be served throughout the evening.

Within the interior of the bar, a small space has been divided and cleared out -- next to the jukebox. There, one will find a few microphones resting on their stands, waiting for whoever is brave enough to sing on them to whatever is playing in Heavenly Blanc when the storm hits. Last, but not least, a whiteboard has been visibly placed next to the entrance. It reads: "Names of the Months", and you may either write your own or add sticks to vote on your favorites.

[Whisper-hissing at Legion and raising his hands defensively. Truthfully, he's not sure who knows what about his relationship and he was still trying to keep it under wraps. There were far too many people around, so there's no way this was being missed.]

I suppose that's true. It's rather unfair to target one person specifically, though. I'm not even certain if anyone is keeping score.

[A beat, then he brightens somewhat at a realization, a hint of an old childish interest visible behind the more neutral expression he usually tries to wear.]

Do you have games of this nature where you come from? I'd quite enjoy hearing about them, if you wouldn't mind.

The majority of those participating in this game appear ... young, and are from societies with comparatively primitive technology to ours.

There are likely a number of things we have done that would not be shared by most others that are not unique to our synthetic nature.

(Committed murder, been in a war, killed a god, befriended gods, traveled to other planets, etc.)

Yes, however our experience with party games is limited.

Oh look, one she doesn't have to drink for, though she is clearly as embarrassed as everyone else; she doesn't have blood to blush with, but her face does glow brighter.

"I don't even know if my kind are even capable o' that sort of thing." Pause. "Or how we reproduce if'n we don't. I reckon we gotta make babies somehow." ...But she was raised by humans, and she hasn't exactly had the time or inclination to ask. (The only other Novakid she can find on a regular basis is Captain Noble, and she's definitely not asking him.)

"You are unfamiliar with your species?" That gets a headtilt. It's not totally unheard of, though it's definitely odd. With all the aliens in the Mass Effect universe, mixed families and people growing up on planets dominated by species not their own are common, but even then everyone is still usually well aware of their own biology. From the Geth perspective, it's even more odd, since everything was shared between them and Legion is the only unit even capable of functioning as a person when separated from others of their kind.

Unless, of course, her people keep the details of their biology secret even from their own? But that seems counterproductive: what if one is injured and needs treatment? It'd also make reproduction difficult... unless that was the point.

"I was raised by humans, an' my kind are pretty rare. I didn't meet any other Novakid 'til I was already an adult, an' by then I had more important things ta worry about."

'Species' and 'biology' are perhaps not the right terms to use here, since there's nothing biological about Novakid at all; they're basically just humanoid sacks of plasma that are somehow able to think and speak and eat... and make babies, yes.

Again, not unheard of that she'd be raised by another species, but still highly unusual.

They don't exactly know anything about Novakid or their biology.

"You are satisfied with this situation?" They suppose that as long as her lack of knowledge isn't really bothering her there's nothing wrong with it.

"Wouldn't say I'm satisfied, more like I've made my peace with it." But happy with it? Of course not.

"Of course I wanna know more about how my body works. Not just reproductive stuff, either, things like... how do I eat an' speak an' breathe without a mouth? How do I see when I ain't got eyes?"

She shrugs. "But I don't think my kind know much more than I do on the subject, anyway." Would a regular Novakid even have the attention span for that kind of self-examination?

They listen, as outwardly calm as ever. That she is not, in fact, satisfied, is unsurprising: their question had been spurred by confusion at her seeming lack of unhappiness with her situation.

"Acknowledged. We hope you are able to find the answers to these inquiries with minimal difficulty."

It's all they can offer, as they are completely unfamiliar with her species.

"I doubt it... but it ain't been affectin' my health none. Maybe it's best not to worry about it." She shakes her head. Usually you can learn a lot by examining a species when it's dead, but even that isn't an option for Novakid, considering that they tend to explode and leave nothing but their brand behind.
