[She laughed, shaking her head in mild, detached amusement at the thought of that before pointing at what was clearly a hole in the roof. Look, she might not know the story, but... that hole didn't come from nowhere.]

Please. Even without doors, things have a way of dropping in. The patch job's pretty obvious. Is that hole familiar to you too?

Maybe. [ It may or may not have been the handiwork of two different people. ] I guess a lock on the doors wouldn't stop them from coming through the ceiling...

[ Clearly. She's still smiling, though, content in her memories of those times. ]

It's fine, though. Lets the sun in to shine down on the flowers, you know?

Heh. I know a spirit back home who would just love you for saying that about your flowers. [She chuckled.] She never felt people loved flowers enough for her taste, but then again she was the youkai of flowers, so...

You wouldn't have liked her. Girl had a bad attitude, even by my standards. Never figured out why. None of us know.

A bad attitude, but a lover of flowers? [ Aerith tilts her head, smiling curiously. ] I'd still like to meet her. We have at least one thing in common!

[ Besides, it isn't as if a bad attitude has ever stopped her... ]

If Yuuka ever shows up, I'll point her your way. I'm currently hoping she doesn't. She's usually more trouble than she's worth having around.

But, like I said. [Smirk.] She'd probably like you. Anyone who loves flowers usually gets in good with her.

(OOC: ironically, I actually do know a Yuuka player. *laugh* but they're busy these days and I never see them play her in games anymore. Pity.)

Yuuka, huh? Okay! I'll keep an eye out.

[ Aerith is good at wrangling others and doesn't at all seem deterred. ]

That's a ringing endorsement in my book! I hope I get the chance to meet her.

You... are the sort of person who sees the sunshine coming after a rainy day. [She snorted. This one could manage optimism about a lot couldn't she?]

I'm kind of the opposite of that, but I guess the world does like to have a few who can see the sunny side of things.

Aww. Well, thank you! I do try.

[ Some times are harder than others, but...she has a lot of practice. ]

It's okay. We all have different experiences, so it makes sense that we'd all have different perspectives, right? Besides, nobody should be expected to be bright and cheery all the time. That'd just be impossible!

A couple of you folks definitely put in an effort to try and get there. I gotta say. But you're not wrong. Unless you're literally a spirit of happiness, it's not possible to always be happy.

You have no idea how annoying a spirit of happiness would be until you meet one.

I bet. [ She laughs a little at the idea, clearly amused. ] I'm sure it'd get a little grating to have somebody, or something, who was happy all the time, even when you weren't feeling so cheery.

[ Maybe it's how Aerith herself can annoy people, though she likes to think that she can rein it in when need be. ]

Even Osomatsu isn't always happy. Cheerful most of the time, but not always. It's... kind of a lot to handle I'd bet. [Even Aerith could rein it in compared to what she was thinking.]

A spirit's usually defined by their emotion. So it's hard to imagine if you aren't one. I haven't ever heard of a spirit of happiness. [She did snicker a little.] You... just see happy most of the time. How do you do it because it seems easy for you.

Oh, it's not so bad. [ Yes. Yes, it is difficult to be cheerful all the time, in the face of the world's true terrors. ] We're all just...doing what we can do. That's all.

[ She nods at the discussion of spirits, head tilted somewhat with interest. ]

I guess this is just how I learned to deal with everything. [ Aerith says finally, with a light shrug. ] I hope it helps other people, too, and not just me.

It's going to help most of them, I think. People who are able to see the silver lining in the middle of this keep them positive. And positive thinking seems to help overall.

So, yeah... I think it will help.

Well, good. We all have to do what we can to hold it together, am I right?

[ Otherwise, it could be easy to succumb to feeling helpless in a place like this. Aerith...is trying as hard as she can to keep others from feeling that way, even if they truly are helpless here. ]

The alternative really isn't something even a depressing soul like me is all that interested in, so yeah. I think we do. Just a bit. And we'll figure it out one way or another.
