 So, random thought: do you think this place is listening to us talk to each other like this? I mean, something here is alive, right? You suddenly get magical veins pulsing everywhere that somehow give us telepathy, plus the fact that there's a bloody beating heart underground!  I don't know about you, but I bet it's all connected somehow. It's got to be!

[ he sounds certain, but just as quickly as his thought ends, another, more lighthearted one follows. this doesn't have to be a Pepe Silvia situation, and he doesn't want it to be. ]

...Either that, or I'm going completely mad. But on the off chance I'm not and my natural genius is leading to some wild breakthrough, humour me for a sec - what would you want to say if you could talk to it directly? [ and before anyone has the chance to answer, he adds- ] And no "Take me home!", 'cuz that's too obvious. 

[ everyone wants to go home. he's pretty sure that's been made abundantly clear by now... or at least he hopes it has. ]

It is aware of our words and actions. It screamed in response to damage underground.

(They'd like to know who, or what, did that damage.)

We do not wish to return to our universe of origin. Our previous world was not a part of that universe. It was ... decaying over time. We were in the process of evacuating allies from other worlds, native sophonts, plants, and animals, when we found ourselves here.

[ and saw to, once he went down into the tunnels to investigate for himself. as little as he knows about the world and how it works, he can't help but feel empathy for something alive that's clearly in pain. ]

Wait, you're from one of those other-other worlds, too? Like Espio? [ this is incredibly important information! how did he, someone who prides himself on being in the loop, not know?!

but before he can exclaim about that, he stops to listen to what Legion is actually saying. whatever world he had unintentionally come here from was dying, and from the sounds of it, they had no idea if their efforts to try and save what they could had actually worked. that's not something you can brush off. ]

That's... geez. I'm sorry to hear that. [ he pauses. ] You haven't seen anything from there around here yet, have you?

The glowing flowers are similar to those of a plant from that world, known as living lanterns.

Well, that's one thing down! Obviously the void's got some understanding of where you came from, so maybe it'll bring some more stuff over here. You never know, right?

[ he's doing his best to keep Legion thinking positively. though he's still trying to wrap his head around this alternate universe-kidnapping business, seeing a place you call home collapse can't be pleasant. ]
