 So, random thought: do you think this place is listening to us talk to each other like this? I mean, something here is alive, right? You suddenly get magical veins pulsing everywhere that somehow give us telepathy, plus the fact that there's a bloody beating heart underground!  I don't know about you, but I bet it's all connected somehow. It's got to be!

[ he sounds certain, but just as quickly as his thought ends, another, more lighthearted one follows. this doesn't have to be a Pepe Silvia situation, and he doesn't want it to be. ]

...Either that, or I'm going completely mad. But on the off chance I'm not and my natural genius is leading to some wild breakthrough, humour me for a sec - what would you want to say if you could talk to it directly? [ and before anyone has the chance to answer, he adds- ] And no "Take me home!", 'cuz that's too obvious. 

[ everyone wants to go home. he's pretty sure that's been made abundantly clear by now... or at least he hopes it has. ]

Those are big ones, I think. At least some word into what's going on back where we came from would help ease the tension a little.

And why bring us specifically, anyway? I'm a pretty amazing guy, but even I didn't think I'd be important enough to get swept into some weird empty world.

I thought at first it might have something to do with our powers, you know? Most of us have something about us that makes us kind of unique... but the Void took all of it away from us, so...

Yeah... it makes sense until you get to that part.

[ when taking his ability to control a team of trained, highly powerful beasts, he can understand a little more why he was taken - but then again, why him and not someone like Leon or Gloria? did his unshakeable charisma and good looks shoot him to the top of the list? ]

Unless it didn't want to take away our abilities, but it just ended up happening somehow? I dunno. [ but, like everything else, that's just baseless conjecture. now there's another question that's nagging him, though. ] But, more importantly! What sorts of things could you do?

[ When the thought filters through her mind, Rinoa takes a deep breath; she doesn't know how the ley lines work, but it's all she can do not to flood him with mental images. He may even hear the internal struggle as she considers whether or not she wants to share over such an obviously-public network—

She shakes her head. She's being ridiculous. At this point, so many of the Void inhabitants have heard what she can do, or outright seen it in their shared nightmare. It's not something she's trying to keep a secret, not anymore. ]

I'm what people on my world call a Sorceress. We're women who have natural magical power. Most people where I'm from need help to use it, but in our case it's part of us, you know?

[ he's thankfully not flooded with anything, but does pick up on her hesitation. he had assumed it was an innocent enough question, but that probably isn't the reality for some people... they might all be stuck here together, but it doesn't mean that everyone will want to be an open book. ]

Hey, no worries if it's something personal. I get it.

[ but it seems like she's built herself up to wanting to talk about it, so he allows her to do so. it's appreciated in any case, and it doesn't appear that Raihan is put off by it. ]

Bona-fide magic, huh? Sounds impressive! [ and he means it! the most that humans are capable of in his world are psychic powers, and rare as they are to begin with, you have to be born with them on top of it. ] Where I'm from, that's something you'd only hear about in fairy tales.

[ as mysterious as it can appear to be, a Pokémon's power can almost always be linked to a scientific explanation. magic is something completely novel to him. ]

[ There's nothing even close to fear in his response, and Rinoa can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. She may have become a lot more open about talking about her powers, but there's still anxiety that comes hand in hand with it, especially knowing that there are people here who come from worlds that doesn't even have magic. Sorceresses might not be trusted at home, but at least people know what they are. Every time she opens up to someone here, there's a risk of some sort involved. ]

I've heard a lot of people say similar things so far. It's interesting how different all our worlds are, you know? Where I'm from, Sorceresses aren't always trusted, so...

[ Not that she can exactly blame people, after what some of her predecessors have done. But that's far too heavy a discussion for something so completely public. ]

You're one of the Pokémon trainers, right?

[ on the contrary, he thinks that all of this magic business is pretty damn cool! it's something he's completely unfamiliar with; as much as explaining Pokémon and their role in his world to others has been interesting, he's found himself increasingly curious about other people's worlds and how they work. ]

Well, you've sounded pretty honest to me so far! No reason not to not trust you, unless you're planning on casting a spell on me...

[ but he can't help flirting just a little, of course. he doesn't know who's on the other side of this ley line, but she sounds cute! ]

I'm the tall, dark and gorgeous one, yeah.

[ The flirting is met with an amused laugh; she's not bothered that it's over such a public network. In fact, the playful tone is easily returned: ]

I'm without my magic here, you know. The only spells I can cast without it are the type that make people wanna dance with me.

So unless we have a big dance party, or you need help learning the game in the BATHzone, you're probably safe for now~

[ and of course, neither is he! public forum be damned; it's in Raihan's nature to shoot his shot a little, even if it doesn't go anywhere. there's a playfulness to it, and he's just happy that she seems to at least play along. ]

I'll have you know that I'm pretty awesome at that it already! Look for "Raihan" on the high scores next time you're there, if you're looking for a challenge. [ he's not the highest one on the board (predictably), but was pretty high up last time he checked. ] But I won't say no to a dance the next time the void decides to throw a party, either... how about it?

[ Oh, and it's a name she recognizes - naturally from seeing it on the scores, where Rinoa herself is also among the highly-ranked names. She grins. ]
