(The Mimics aren't hostile to machines anymore, so as long as Turing didn't like, accidentally kick one or something, it'd probably have been fine.

Probably.

Legion stirred, eyelight blinking on. They did not yawn or stretch--they might sleep now, but they were still a machine and had no need for such things.)

[ Turing didn't stir at Legion's voice at first, and it took long enough for someone to wonder if they were still asleep. They did sit up, but the light around them was dim, as if they hadn't gotten a full or restful night's sleep. ]

Hmm...? Oh! [ Turing covered their mouth at the sound they made; they didn't want to wake the Mimics. Of course, covering their mouth wouldn't do anything anyway, but with all the time they had spent around humans, they were bound to pick up a few mannerisms at some point. ]

Um, hello, Legion.

[ Their sheepish look was quickly wiped away at Legion's offer, but luckily they had enough foresight to switch to quiet mode before answering out loud. ]

Yes, please! ...That is, as long as everyone else doesn't mind.

[ They glanced again at the Mimics. ]

They have become tolerant of the presence of fellow machines.

(The whole species has, actually. So like, there shouldn't be any problem.)

[ They looked so fluffy... Upon hearing that news, it suddenly became very easy to see them as giant cats. Giant cats with glowy tails and horns, but still. ]

Do you think it's possible that they could become friendly instead of just tolerant of fellow machines?

[ Translation: "Can I pet the kitty eventually?" ]

Yes. (Legion is working on that.)

They see themselves as part of larger collectives, or "packs". (More doglike than catlike, at least in some ways.) They respond well to offerings of treats, provided that the offerings are sufficient to share with packmates.

I see... I would like to bring them treats, but I may have to think of a way to carry enough for everyone.

[ Strength wasn't so much a problem, but carrying enough comfortably potentially was, depending on their appetites. ]

Packs are small, typically containing only two or three individuals.

(So it actually shouldn't be too hard? These are treats, they need to be large enough to enjoy but they don't have to be full meals.)

Oh! [ Maybe predictably, Turing's expression immediately brightened at the clarification. ]

In that case, perhaps I should get into the habit of carrying treats with me in case I happen to run into any of the packs later.

The prepackaged food items found at Aoba Shibumenosaki Underground Academy are typically easiest to store and transport.

We have developed a preference for cake.

(Yes, really. Part of this is because they had developed a habit of giving cake to friends long before they even came here, but also: cake good.)

This platform also enjoys sushi and honey pickled lemons.

Me too! The cake at the Lemon Cello Church is very nice.

I'm not familiar with honey pickled lemons, though.

Jars of honey pickled lemons can be found in the cafeteria. The flavor is ... strong.
