Stealth in these tunnels is practically an impossible endeavor, considering the squishing noises with every footstep, so Sam's approach is no surprise. Perhaps the dragon at his side is, though perhaps not -- Legion has seen Dragonite by now, after all, even if they haven't exactly been introduced to each other.
The two watch Legion work for a few moments, Sam rubbing at the back of his head in embarrassment. Considering how their last conversation went, will Legion be upset with him? Still, eventually he speaks up.
He approaches a little closer, crouching down nearby. He's probably going to get blood or something even worse on his pants, but he doesn't look like he minds.
"Can I help? I have some medical experience." He holds out his hands in silent request for the bucket.
Healing herbs are an old idea that isn't too out-there, so he can take Legion's word on that, at least.
"Affirmative." They hand the bucket to him, then go back to work.
"Query. Do you have any knowledge as to the cause of these injuries?" It's seeming increasingly unlikely that it is any of the denizens of this world--the animals also appear to be concerned.
"These wounds are large enough, it might take stitches to close them up properly." Still, he fishes a set of gloves out of his pocket and pulls them on. Technically these aren't supposed to be reused, but given the limited supply... he'll just have to sterilize them later.
At Legion's question, he shakes his head, frowning at the wounds even as he begins to join in the treatment process. Dragonite stands guard behind the two, vigilant for any hostile wildlife that might approach their location.
"If it's not the natives, it would have to be one of the people here, wouldn't it? I just can't think of a reason why someone might want to do this." It's not like it would help to navigate the tunnels; who would be willing to traverse the wounds they made? It seems like simple cruelty for cruelty's sake, and he wrinkles his nose in disgust at the thought.
"We are inexperienced with this procedure. However, it is possible that the stuffed bear animals will assist if sufficiently motivated."
That's how Viridi fixed this the last time: she listened to the animals and brought a bunch of the bear things here to help. Motivation was provided primarily by Legion and offers of cake.
"It is also puzzling to us. However, it is possible that fellow captives blame this world and the beings in it for trapping them here." Legion doesn't think the world did this deliberately, as it did not exist when they arrived. If something is responsible for them being here, it is some other entity or force: this world is simply a creation resulting from it.

"Affirmative." They look at the weird leafy paste in their hands.
"This flora is known among the machine fauna of this world to have healing ptoperties."
They're beginning to realize that they can talk to the animals, though only the robot ones for now.
yo wtf dreamwidth didn't send me a notif for this D:
