As a scientist, Samuel is also curious about the berries, though by now he's learned not to pick them -- he's content to observe them when they're still 'on the vine'. Glancing over at the other, he raises his eyebrows at the... request, though it seems to carry the tone of an order.

"A little courtesy goes a long way, you know. Could I get a 'please'?" Despite the gentle scolding of his words, his tone is as friendly as ever.

"Or you could use this." Pulling a small object out of his labcoat pocket, he unfolds it, leans down, and gently tosses it along the ground toward the other -- it's a mini-pocket knife, the blade about 4 cm in length, with a few other tools tucked away inside the handle. Not as many as a full-sized pocket knife would have, but the place where he lived in his world had somewhat restrictive knife laws. "Give it back when you're done, please."
