a delightful picnic day.
Who: Everyone!
What: PokeBalls are now functional, and there are a lot more friends in Tabula Rasa.
Where: Outside of Heavenly Blanc! It's a picnic, baby.
When: You know, now-ish.
Content Warnings: Cute. Dragons. Birbs.
It seemingly happens at random, for the trainers of the creatures they call Pokemon. Sudden bursts of light, and out emerge quite a few new friends. Pokemon of different Types, shapes, and sizes are now wandering around . . . sticking close to their trainers, probably.
There's a small gathering outside of the Heavenly Blanc, with various snacks and food set out on tables outside. Feel free to come by, play with Pokemon, and have a bite to eat! It's a random assortment of food and drink, all "foraged" and/or made by the Pokemon crew in order to celebrate their partners being released and to also introduce them to their friends they've made in Tabula Rasa!
Be careful of the rumbling storm nearby, though . . . but on the bright side, at least your phones seem to be working, if you have any? Time to take selfies with your new friends, or maybe a TikTok that just stays on your phone forever.
(Trainers will have top levels, if they want, so if you want to interact with a specific trainer, you can wait for their level! Otherwise, have fun at the picnic.)

(They headtilt. They don't recognize the nickname, because they don't realize quite that Duraludon is a dragon, or that Raihan is a dragon trainer, and they've also never heard that nickname before.)
This experience is likely to yield valuable data.
(Why are you like this, Legion.)

[Blue's head tilts as he tries to parse the intent in Legion's... um, reply? Thinking on it, he figures that they mean learning about the Pokémon, so he nods eagerly.]
You wanna learn about Pokémon? Well, you came to the right place! [Blue grins, gesturing at his own team, peppered across the landscape.] I'm the only normal trainer around here... Not Normal-type, that is, but rather that I'm not a dragon tamer like them. Even gramps has got a Dragonite, so I guess it's up to me to show off the variety that Pokémon can have, huh?
no subject
Affirmative.
(They look around at Blue's pokemon.)
Are all types capable of understanding us?
no subject
That's right! [Blue cheerfully replies, watching as Exeggutor's 3 heads chitter over each other to greet the mechanical being curiously.] Pokémon are all pretty smart; that's why they can interact with humans so well. Oh, some of them can communicate back pretty well, too. Exeggutor here is a Psychic-type, so sometimes he can use telepathic thoughts to communicate with me and other Pokémon, too!
...Although, it seems like none of them can use any of their abilities here, anyway. [He gives the tree-like Pokémon a ginger pat to the trunk as his leafy fronds droop in agreement.] Exeggg...

Their headflaps lift slightly, and they tilt their head at exeggutor.)
Greetings.
(The comment about the lack of abilities is unsurprising, and they don't react much to it.)
Our capabilities are similarly limited.

[Exeggutor cheerfully sways as he's greeted, the leafy palms atop his head rustling. His three heads appear to talk over each other, each saying something different- in reality, they were taking turns in replying, though sadly, Legion couldn't understand them...]
Oh.. really?? [Blue's widen in some surprise. He wouldn't have guessed it, but now he supposes...] Are you a Psychic, too?
no subject
They can't understand, but that's okay, Legion's own chattering responses aren't very understandable either. Some kind of acknowledgement of the greeting?)
We are not. However, prior to our arrival in this world, we did not possess the weaknesses of organic life.
sobs at that icon
[Blue blinks and takes a glancing stare at their torso, as if expecting to see some visible flesh there. Then again, some Steel-types also had flesh along with their Steel bodies; and others didn't. Maybe that steel plating was just armor, like on a Skarmory...?]
That sounds like a pain, though. That means you can get hurt more easily and stuff, huh? Do you have to be more careful, now?
[Exeggutor chatters in agreement. He was a tree, so of course injury meant something different to him, but his trunk could still be chipped and battered, and his fronds could be torn. Scary!! Especially fire...]
Yeah the artist is pretty great
(No flesh here! Not very much steel either, actually: what appears to be metal armor is actually a super tough plastic material.)
We must be careful to avoid incapacitation due to these sensations at inopportune moments.

[Blue can't help but keep staring for a moment before he catches himself, blinking away with a self-conscious grin.] Ah, well-- Steel-type Pokémon get hungry and tired and stuff, so it's not so weird to hear, to me! ...That must be a real pain for you, though, huh.
[For someone not used to it, getting tired must be really weird, huh? Slowly feeling like your whole body is dragging down... Blue hadn't gotten entirely used to the weird ways this place brought on exhaustion and hunger so suddenly.]
Ah. If you never slept before, does that mean you never had a bed before?

(They headtilt, and chatter in confusion. They are uncertain of why he is asking about organic recharge surfaces.)
