a delightful picnic day.
Who: Everyone!
What: PokeBalls are now functional, and there are a lot more friends in Tabula Rasa.
Where: Outside of Heavenly Blanc! It's a picnic, baby.
When: You know, now-ish.
Content Warnings: Cute. Dragons. Birbs.
It seemingly happens at random, for the trainers of the creatures they call Pokemon. Sudden bursts of light, and out emerge quite a few new friends. Pokemon of different Types, shapes, and sizes are now wandering around . . . sticking close to their trainers, probably.
There's a small gathering outside of the Heavenly Blanc, with various snacks and food set out on tables outside. Feel free to come by, play with Pokemon, and have a bite to eat! It's a random assortment of food and drink, all "foraged" and/or made by the Pokemon crew in order to celebrate their partners being released and to also introduce them to their friends they've made in Tabula Rasa!
Be careful of the rumbling storm nearby, though . . . but on the bright side, at least your phones seem to be working, if you have any? Time to take selfies with your new friends, or maybe a TikTok that just stays on your phone forever.
(Trainers will have top levels, if they want, so if you want to interact with a specific trainer, you can wait for their level! Otherwise, have fun at the picnic.)

Samuel Oak + Dragonite
Considering everything that's happened -- first the events involving Dr. Yung, then everything in Mementos -- Dragonite is even more protective of Sam than usual. While the affection and loyalty between human and Pokemon is clear to see as they interact, Dragonite gives a warning glare at anyone unfamiliar who might approach; of course, that's everyone. (Even Blue. ESPECIALLY Blue, what do you think you're trying to pull trying to look like some kind of weird older version of its human's grandson, mister?)
Meanwhile: Perhaps the world doesn't fully understand this whole 'sleep' thing yet, because Sam suddenly has to fight off exhaustion despite being as well-rested as everyone else. He wobbles several times before resigning to rest his eyes for a moment, JUST A MOMENT, and immediately goes slack as if he'd been hit with sleep powder. Thankfully Dragonite is there to catch him before he hits the ground, before lying back to let him use its belly as a pillow. Those big eyes gaze lovingly down at its trainer as it lifts an arm, gently stroking his gray hair as it lets him nap on its belly. Get your cute pictures while you can (because the nap is as likely to end as abruptly as it began) -- or risk the ire of the guard dragon to wake him up.

Blue frowns and stutters in his step as the Dragonite intercepts him, brow furrowing defensively with hurt. Why was he being glared at!? He just wanted to talk to Gramps after not seeing him since before...
...Since before those odd subway tunnels, in which Blue had been haunted by weird phantoms of him... He had been so worried that he'd be unsafe there, but he'd never been able to find him. So now...
Eevee glares back from Blue's shoulder in his place, and gives the Dragonite a haughty scoff. "Go glare at someone else, you overgrown lizard!"

Eevee's chastisement means nothing to the dragon; as far as it's concerned, intimidating anyone who tries to get near its human, to let them know it won't tolerate any funny business, is part of its job.

Eevee's frown doesn't ebb one bit either, but Blue tears his wounded frown away from Dragonite to focus on Oak instead, sitting at the table nearby. "Are you feeling alright after everything that happened recently? I was looking for you and the other trainers, but I never did find anyone before we all woke up."
"I almost still wonder whether it was a dream, or real... It felt like a Gengar was giving me a terrible nightmare or something."
Blue hesitantly fiddles for a moment before glancing up again. "You want any coffee or anything, gramps? It seems like people are having trouble with sleeping and staying awake, now."

At Blue's offer, Sam gently shakes his head. "I'm fine. If I want something later, I can get it myself." He holds his hand out to Eevee, in silent offering. Want some pets, little cutie?

While Blue waffles a little over how to take that advice, Eevee shares his trainer's hesitance as he notices his mood, but creeps forward quietly to greet the professor with a gentle sniff.
"Okay... Well, you can just ask me or Ren, we can hop into the bar and get you something."
...Left standing around, the waiting child as always. Well. At least nothing ever changed with gramps.

"I see, I see," Lance says with some reassurance, gently reaching up to pat his own Dragonite's nose before he offers a slight wave to Samuel. "I see you've found your partner."
Lance's Dragonite offers a similar wave, and grumbles a cheerful greeting to Oak's Dragonite. Hello!

"Well, 'found' isn't exactly the right word, is it?" Sam smiles at his dragon friend. "They've been with me all along, after all, just...." Well, you know. Trapped in the Pokeball and all that.

"Is something the matter?" Sam turns toward the boy while Dragonite continues to glare. It really doesn't like the vibes it's getting off the near-stranger. "You can pet them, if you like." Dragonite turns toward its master, expression both surprised and pleading, as if to say 'What? Don't let that jerk touch me!'

Oh wait. Now he does.It wasn't a fact that he advertised, and he had only just recently acquired it."No more than usual," The void had always seem to play favorites from Kaiba's perspective, and that was generally based on statistics. There were more pokeman trainers, or researchers than duelists, just as there was a collection of those here that Takamaki knew from her area of origin. The increased numbers correlated with the transitions in landscape and functionality. It was no less irritating, still he managed to curtail some of his displeasure.
"Heh- I don't think your friend here agrees."

"Dragonite and I don't agree on everything, but they usually listen to me." Answering Seto's comment on Dragonite's attitude, since it was the only thing he said that was helpful. He reaches over to gently pet Dragonite's tummy. "At the very least, they won't attack you unless I tell them to. Just don't make any sudden movements toward me." If it believes Sam is in danger, Dragonite won't wait for an order to defend its human.

"Heh, that's something," Kaiba could appreciate loyalty. Though he still wasn't overly keen on giving the pokémon a pat, he waited until it was demonstrated before reaching out to touch the creature himself. It felt as solid as the other pokémon he'd come in contact with. Still, he didn't prolong his attentions regarding Dragonite since he too had an aversion towards touch.
"I can't foresee why I should need to, so it should be fine."
