What: PokeBalls are now functional, and there are a lot more friends in Tabula Rasa.
Where: Outside of Heavenly Blanc! It's a picnic, baby.

It seemingly happens at random, for the trainers of the creatures they call Pokemon. Sudden bursts of light, and out emerge quite a few new friends. Pokemon of different Types, shapes, and sizes are now wandering around . . . sticking close to their trainers, probably.

There's a small gathering outside of the Heavenly Blanc, with various snacks and food set out on tables outside. Feel free to come by, play with Pokemon, and have a bite to eat! It's a random assortment of food and drink, all "foraged" and/or made by the Pokemon crew in order to celebrate their partners being released and to also introduce them to their friends they've made in Tabula Rasa!

Be careful of the rumbling storm nearby, though . . . but on the bright side, at least your phones seem to be working, if you have any? Time to take selfies with your new friends, or maybe a TikTok that just stays on your phone forever.

(Trainers will have top levels, if they want, so if you want to interact with a specific trainer, you can wait for their level! Otherwise, have fun at the picnic.)

I was curious.

(Really, who wouldn't be! Look at all the Pokémon running, interacting and they're all so different from what he could ever imagine... One does call his attention, though. Goodra looks very familiar to the tiny Pokémon Ren recalls from Raihan's memory, from the color scheme to the general sliminess it displays.)

This one feels familiar!

As you should be! If I saw a bunch of crazy monsters wandering about, I'd want to check it out, too.

[ he's been trying to think with the perspective of an outsider while here, even if it's still strange to conceptualize living in a world without Pokémon. he takes another sip of his tea, smile quirking at Ren's observation. ]

Good eye! That's Goodra - the little Goomy you saw in my memory is her baby. [ he calls out to her, waving her over once she's turned. ] C'mere, girl!

[ at 6'7", she towers over Ren and is just taller than Raihan - she coos happily when Raihan reaches out to give her a rub behind her horns, but soon starts to eye Ren with wide-eyed curiousity. a new friend, perhaps? ]

I don't feel that way anymore.

(That could have been the case at the beginning, even considering how his first impressions of Duraludon weren't the best. Right now, he has had enough contact with them to see them in a different eye.

Ah, but he does look so proud of himself when Raihan confirms his suspicion. He isn't sure if Goodra would let him just pet her, so he reaches, but doesn't touch yet - he's waiting for her to come instead.)

[ and that's what Raihan likes to see! dragons aren't usually the easiest introduction to Pokemon in general based on their fierce looks and tough natures, but all it takes is a little open-mindedness to really appreciate them.

as big as she is, Goodra is as gentle as can be off of the battlefield. with a glance at Raihan to make sure it's alright, she steps towards Ren and leans down to sniff his hand before gently nuzzling her snout into it with a friendly coo of greeting. ]

She's a little slimy, so mind your clothes. [ and before she gets any ideas- ] And you keep your hands to yourself, missy! No hugs unless he says he's alright with it.

(Yeah, Ren does not see her as a dragon, though. She's just a friendly, cool and enormous Pokémon to him - there are others his cognition ties to his view dragons, such as the many Dragonites and the Charizard flying around the area. That is a dragon! This is a cutie.

There's a smile from Ren, all teeth as he pets Goodra before he realizes what Raihan means and pulls his sleeve up a little.)

I'm sorry we can't hug. I still have to make lunch. (He tells her - even though he has two outfits. Did Ren just imply he is going to make food for everyone? Yes he did.)

[ and Raihan is here to challenge him on that notion! sure, conventional dragons are cool, but technically Charizard isn't even a dragon. Goodra, on the other hand, is Dragon through and through, and her cuteness is second only to her ferocity! ]

I brought towels if you need 'em. [ he smirks, but his eyes soften as he watches Goodra nuzzle up to Ren. she's always been among the most friendly of his team members, even if he knows she'd rather be more affectionate. ] She'll get you one day. It's bone-crushing, but you'll definitely feel... protected.

[ this is just the first meeting of many, after all - he's sure that his Pokémon will get plenty of face time with people as time goes on, now that they can be released from their Poké Balls. and while that's all fine and dandy, he also likes the prospect of food. ]

Oh? What's on the menu?

(Ren will perhaps never fully comprehend the Pokéworld, much as he gets that the others may never fully understand his own. He is still petting, though, almost beaming when Goodra seems to enjoy it.)

Where's her baby? (He hopes they're fine. He sure felt the affection towards it in the memory and it remains with him to this day.

Finally, Ren turns the smile to Raihan. He isn't sure if Raihan has ever tasted his curry, which is very different from Blue's in terms of spices.)

Curry.

Back in Hammerlocke, probably... the real one, not the mess of rubble that's here. One of my gym trainers was taking care of him before I ended up here.

[ the Goomy was still small, but showing real potential under the Gym's tutelage. though he was technically Raihan's Pokémon, everyone working there had a hand in raising him. Goodra doesn't seem too perturbed about it, thankfully - she's confident her brood is in good hands.

but as good as the food at their little picnic has been so far, the mention of curry makes his face brighten in interest. he knew the Heavenly Blanc had a curry specialty, but he hasn't had the chance to taste it yet! ]

For real? Now that feels like home... what'd you put in it?

(Ren has seen the real Hammerlocke, so really, that's where his mind goes. There's a little smile, as he is sure the little Goomy would be taken care of. After all, if Raihan trusts them, there's no reason for Ren to believe otherwise.

A shake of his head to the question, because first, it's a secret, and secondly...)

It changes per customer. I assess what I think you'd like.

Personalization, huh? Interesting...

[ his expression goes from excited to enticingly puzzled, wondering just what Ren's methods are. is he some sort of curry connoisseur? ]

Alright, let's see how well you know the great Raihan's meticulous taste. If I approve, I'll make it worth your while!

[ he has no idea what that might mean yet, but Raihan always keeps his promises. he'll find something! ]

It's a deal.

(And there's even a nod to confirm it. Raihan's personality shines so bright that he can't imagine him enjoying something more on the safe side.

He'll experiment with things and make a personalized curry for the other and hope he hit the spot with it.)
