Who: Kimihiro&You What: Getting to know the Void, just generally being confused. Catch-all post! Where: Around the Void! When: November OOC Content Warnings: Nothing!! Perhaps spoilers?
(kimihiro listens attentively, although of course, there isn't much he can say about it. new things sprout of out nothingness, appearing at random... it's not exactly a dimension he has ever visited or heard of from the others... but a simulation? well. judging by the technology around the boy, it makes sense he'd think that way. what is reality but what you perceive of it?)
Due to my circumstances, I doubt that it's one. (his shop can't even be seen by anyone other than costumers and those who actually have business in it. he can't leave. his access to technology is a laptop, a tv and a means of communication with the one person who visits him as of now. he can't leave and can barely be found on a good day. how would anyone reach him for this in the first place?
he's not going to lie, though. there would be a small relief in knowing it is just one and he's still at the shop.)
I'm just a shop owner. (and for now kaiba gets none of the rest, because really, he doesn't want to get annoyed yet again. kaiba already made his suspicions clear with "it's not real" and kimihiro already feels the resistance of accepting the unacceptable. baby steps.
kimihiro simply sighs, patting himself for a lighter or anything that could produce fire so he could inhale some smoke.)
My name is Watanuki. (written like april first, but kaiba would have to care about it to think about it.) How many people are here, Kaiba?
(no honorifics. kimihiro is definitely older than this pain in the ass, and he doesn't want to get comfortable with the other.)
No? What a surprise. [Rolling his eyes and sounding sarcastic. When he'd mentioned his theory he'd fully been expecting it to be rejected. There were only a few that would even entertain the possibility, it was remarkable just how narrow-minded people could be. Pot calling kettle? Most likely. No matter. This guy's opinion was of little concern.]
Look, I'm as confused as you are as to why you're here. Me- I understand. [Kaiba held a prominent position and was an influential person. Taking him out of the picture and locking him in a digital netherrealm to get him out of the way made sense. A shop owner- not so much. By extension he could also see a reason to remove certain parties like the phantom thieves that could be a thorn in the side of someone with lofty aspirations and not many scruples. Most of those trapped here- seemed highly randomized. Without knowing the guy's full story he just accepted that he was a nobody.
It was likely a good call not to expand on the specific circumstances of Watanuki's unique situation. Kaiba was and still is a very skeptical person by nature and the fact that he could see the other in plan sight now would have undermined the claim to the opposite elsewhere.]
The name isn't familiar to me either. [He was low on cares] Roughly 30 [Not taking the time to run over the names in his mind to verify it. A ballpark figure was close enough in this instance]
(good for him that kimihiro doesn't read minds, here or otherwise.
kimihiro, however, is more concerned about the how than the why. as annoyed as kaiba might make him, he recognizes that he too had issues accepting the unacceptable, even when he was able to see, feel and well, in his case, run from the unnatural forces that chased him a few decades ago. after all he went through and now the nature of who he is, kimihiro finally gets it. all is hitsuzen - the inevitability of fate. if he's here, in this void, there has to be a reason and it's not up to him when the truth emerges. he will know when he has to know.
similarly, fates interconnect. he takes a good look at kaiba... and he sighs in dismay. their fates are already tangled, as kimihiro sees it. there's a beat there in which he curses the universe for bringing him yet another pain the ass, but very well.)
You're not supposed to. (because well. the own conditions of the store. even if they came from the same place, the shop is concealed and a barrier is set. kaiba wouldn't be able to see it.)
[It certainly is. He had his fill of alleged mind-readers besides what with Pegasus, and Ishizu Ishtar
Such was the difference in their experiences. Since Kaiba had gone comatose before arriving in the void he found the fact that he'd ended up here marginally easier to understand if not accept. That was the hazard of having your soul spirited out of your body, again. There just didn't seem to be much of a rhyme nor reason for this digital prison. Blah blah blah- now Kaiba is relieved that he can't read minds in the reverse. Why people so willingly relinquished control of their own lives to existential nonsense was beyond his comprehension. He made his own destiny.
To that look, he narrowed his eyes not really getting the exaggerated huff.]
What's stopping you? [Certainly not this tall brunette in the ostentatious coat.]
the blood gets warmer each time kaiba speaks, he has noticed. probably the combination of the other's hard edges, mixed with his arrogance and overall attitude doesn't go well with kimihiro at the end of the day. reminds him a little of someone who has passed even.)

I should take a look around.

Unaware of who he reminds the other of he has no frame of reference]
Gravity then, because you're still here. [Rolling his eyes.] Well- as fascinating as this has been.. [Meaning the opposite] I think we're done here.
