Who: Kimihiro&You What: Getting to know the Void, just generally being confused. Catch-all post! Where: Around the Void! When: November OOC Content Warnings: Nothing!! Perhaps spoilers?
Wasn't all that common back home either. (he sighs, mostly because it's almost disheartening. mugetsu is right there, you know, and even he looks a little upset.) Unfortunately, of course, but I imagined sake would be as important in any Japan.
(if iwaizumi looks, there's not a hint of dismay or surprise on the idea of multiple dimensions or realities. he's used to the idea and concept.)
[Then why ask, Iwaizumi wonders. As for Kimihiro being unfazed by the idea of multiple dimensions, it’s a little exasperating - another weirdo, he thinks - but not entirely surprising in and of itself. As far as he knows, he really is the only normal one around here.]
Well, we’re definitely not in Japan either way. [He won’t argue about whether or not it matters - that seems like a conversation he doesn’t want to get into right now.] As for sake, there might be some at Heavenly Blanc. It’s a bar. Sort of.
[He glances at Mugetsu. He look sad (and kind of neat). He sighs.] I can take you if you want I guess.
[And with that he’ll turn his back, wave over his shoulder and make his way toward Heavenly Blanc. It’s something between a café and a bar where the electricity only works half the time, but there’s a pinball machine and decent as hell curry, which is probably why Iwaizumi spends as much time there as he does.]
I’m underage, so depending on who’s working I may not be able to get it for you, but if you’re going to find it anywhere, it’ll probably be here.
[He says this as he makes his way through the entrance, nods toward the bar.]
(he follows, a hand still holding the changshan to make sure it doesn't get dirty from meeting with the grass as he walked. he doesn't have shoes, but it doesn't seem to be an issue.
watanuki bows before entering, allowing mugetsu to wrap around his wrist instead. there's nobody tending the bar though and he sighs.)
I guess you'll have to wait, Mugetsu. (he isn't just taking it!)
[There’s an awkward stretch of time where no one comes to serve them, but neither of them are willing to take the drinks themselves. Eventually, one of the bartenders does approach, and Iwaizumi, seeming to know him, explains the situation and manages to get a small bit of sake from him. It goes straight from there to Kimihiro though, and Iwa nods in his direction.]
See if that’ll do, I guess.
[His eyes are on the fox spirit now, wondering how he’ll go about accepting the offer. So weird...]
(he allows iwaizumi to deal with all of that, but really, mugetsu would need much more than this mere amount of alcohol. sure, though, let's see if he likes it.
kimihiro sets his tobacco tray on a table, gently setting the pipe before mugetsu just wraps his way down his arm towards the sake dish. kimihiro just nods to him and much like a bird beaking on a fountain, he begins to drink and sure enough it proves to be insufficient. mugetsu squeaks for more and kimihiro just gives him a sigh.)
Fine, fine. I'll see if I can purchase the bottle.
I’d just ask for it, honestly. [He says, observing the creature with an eyebrow raised in curiosity.] Money doesn’t work like that around here. I’m not even sure it’s a thing, actually.
[But he’s not sure what the etiquette on bartering for alcohol is either. You’re on your own with that one, Kimihiro.]
(yokai are just like that. how many times has kimihiro opened over ten bottles of perfectly high quality alcohol between him, doumeki, the fox, mokona, the spider queen...
it was easy to ask for it, although he makes a mental note to pay back in the nearest future possible. he also gets a cup for himself, because well. mugetsu isn't drinking alone and iwaizumi is underage. not that it stopped doumeki any when they were younger, but kimihiro approves of the responsible thing to do.)
Alcohol is one of the biggest things in my household because of that.
[Iwaizumi is still in that state of bitterness and shock where he wouldn’t reject a drink if it were offered, but he’s never been a terribly heavy drinker himself and it doesn’t faze him one bit not to have one now. He’s an athlete at heart after all, and that shit’s bad for you - maybe not for “yokai” though?]
You got more of these things hanging around your place back home?
Why?
[It seems a pretty natural question, though maybe that’s just normal where this guy comes from.]
No. (kimihiro just. gives out a very exhausted sigh. iwaizumi wouldn't know a ghost from a mile away. he could barely process mugetsu's existence, as it seems.)
I'm a human. (presumably. he doesn't even know what he is anymore. he likes to think that his condition didn't strip him of his humanity, regardless of how non-human like he is.) Time just works differently for me.
Isn't that a matter of perspective? Going back to what we know as such.
(yeah he can tell iwaizumi is not only resistant but preeeeetty pissed!)
I intend to find out why we're here.
(he makes the decision, but quite honestly? to teach the world how to world seems like a perfectly comprehensible reason to him. mages just be like this sometimes.)

( fox pipe spirit - longe boy, cute boy, no legs!! just a tiny little face that makes it not be a very weird brush.)
Are foxes not worshipped anymore?
no subject
Sounds like Japan, but we’re not all from the...same Japan here, I guess.
[How did he end up being the one to explain this when he barely understands it himself?
It has come full circle.]It’s weird, and it doesn’t make any sense, but it’s true.
Anyway, where I come from, it’s not that common anymore.

We are or aren't, it doesn't matter, does it?

That would be good. (and he nods shortly.) Thank you.

How much does it need?

(the sake doesn't go down smoothly, mostly because explaining who he is without the shop in itself is quite... challenging. he'll need another sip.)
I temporarily own a wish-granting shop and the shop itself is not of a natural origin. They can come and ask for their wishes as well.
no subject
[What the entire fuck is that supposed to mean?]
no subject
(Isn't that simple?)
no subject
[Simple enough for him!]
Being here probably isn’t that weird for you then.
no subject
(kimihiro sighs, petting mugetsu's head as he drinks.)
I haven't been out of my shop in a hundred years. It's not possible for me to be here, physically. That part is weird.
no subject
[Why does he look more exhausted than dumbfounded? Prepare yourself for what’s probably a rude as hell question:]
So what, are you like a ghost or something?
no subject
I'm a human. (presumably. he doesn't even know what he is anymore. he likes to think that his condition didn't strip him of his humanity, regardless of how non-human like he is.) Time just works differently for me.

Pretty much nothing works right in this place.
no subject
(kimihiro just gives it a shrug, like he knows the thing almost too personally.)
I'm sure things will find their way back into harmony.
no subject
[Yep. Someone’s bitter. Maybe he should have asked for that drink.]
There’s nothing to go back to.

That’s the only sort of thing I want to “go back to”, and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that.
no subject
I have ways, if only it weren't just the two of us.
