🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂 Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories. 🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party. 🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal. 🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone: "Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you." "It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well." ☕ OOC NOTES ☕ This is the open mingle post for the Heavenly Blanc void party! Please feel free to top-level and tag around. [Red is lost in the sweet, refreshing taste of his juice, glass about 3/4ths empty by this point, when suddenly Blue comes back to his table with a complete stranger in tow. From the look on the guy's face, it doesn't seem like he actually wants this at all. A kindred spirit... pun completely intended.

Removing his lips from his straw, Red regards Cole with a look of sympathy as he raises a hand in greeting at the two of them. On the other hand, Pikachu is very excited by this development and waves very enthusiastically!]

Pika pi~ka! [New friend, new friend!!]

[Thanks Pikachu, Blue knew you'd be on his side!!]

Here, here! Red, this is Cole; Cole, this is Red.

You're both sitting all on your own, so you should at least keep each other company, right?

Oh, and this is Pikachu, [Blue gestures to Cole towards Pikachu, the only one happy about this situation.] He's Red's partner Pokémon!

[At least someone(??) is happy about this. Cole at least doesn't seem displeased so much as out of his element, awkwardly standing by the table. His attention is drawn to Pikachu when he "speaks."]

You're much smaller than Duraludon.

[Which is the only other Pokemon he's personally met, so far.]

[In response to Cole's comment, Pikachu stands up proudly on his hind legs and flexes his tiny little arms.]

Pi-ka!!

[He may not look like much, but he is a very strong boy! Even without his powers!! (Well, not really, but shh.) Red smiles in amusement and pats Pikachu's head. At the very least, his Pikachu is definitely in the top percentage of Pikachus.]

[Blue giggles at the flex- Pikachu certainly had a less prideful attitude than Eevee did, but he was certainly still capable of holding his own!! ...Maybe a little too capable, if you asked Blue.... Anyway, Blue gestures between them towards Red, leaning on the table.]

Cole here came to eavesdrop, [Just. out there. Just like that,] and I figured since you guys are both quiet and don't wanna interact and you're not gonna ask anyone anything, maybe he can share some of the stuff he hears with you!

[And then you can share it with Blue!!! Isn't his plan ingenious?]

[Pikachu's antics don't exactly make him smile, but he's a little more relaxed. He is clearly a very good Pokemon.]

[Fortunately(?) Cole isn't bothered by Blue straight up outing his eavesdropping plans. His head tilts slightly as Blue reveals his plans.]

You said that Red is your best friend. Shouldn't you be the ones spending time together?

[He's not here to make friends, but encouraging other friendships is certainly up his alley.]

[Wow, Blue actually said that? Red is a little surprised, but he masks it under his usual calm demeanor, casually taking another sip of his juice while Pikachu settles down and looks between them all curiously. Red's got no Rapidash in this race, so he'll let Blue answer Cole's question.]

Huh?? Well....

[Blue rolls his eyes to the side a little bashfully, trying to ignore Red's expression (or lack thereof, perhaps) as he fiddles up some explanation.]

Well, of course, but we already spend all our time together! [It was true- largely because Blue fussed over Red going out on his own-] So... it'd be good if Red could make some other friends too, besides me, right? And get to know other people well, too....

[His usual answer, as Red knows, but....]

[He focuses on Blue since he's still the one doing all the talking. He listens to his reasoning, and...]

Why? Does he want to?

[He looks at Red after he says that.]

[Well. Red certainly isn't as invested in the idea of making friends as Blue is, but is he opposed to making new friends? Of course not. He simply has a much more laidback, low pressure approach than his super extroverted best friend here. He's already met a few promising candidates before this party, so...

He nods at Cole with a faint, warm smile. Red is perfectly willing to give him a chance, if he feels like hanging around. Although with how hard Blue is pushing for this, he wouldn't blame Cole for wanting to leave either.]

[The sight of Red agreeing, while slightly surprising to Blue, has him smiling warmly and a little uncontrollably.... He knows how hard it is, but he thinks too that Red recognizes how important it is to not be alone! In this place...... and in general, too.]

[He was just trying to help him out, after all.]

That's right, so....

What about you, Cole? It'd be nice to have more people to talk to directly than just listening to other people talk, right?

[That seems to be agreement, so that's good. It would just be better if he looked for actual people to make friends with.]

Talking is... harder. I have to here, because I can't hear you otherwise. It's not usually like this.

[Not that he never talks, but he doesn't normally have to ask so many questions just to find out what people are thinking first.]

[Well, the guy who hasn't said a single word this entire time can certainly relate to talking being hard in general. But "can't hear you otherwise?" This comment intrigues Red enough that he does finally speak up.]

Did you... read minds?

[He can't think of any other way Cole could supposedly "hear" people.]

Oh! Good thinking, Red!

[Blue pops his fist in his palm, a little 'aha!' motion.] You must be a Psychic, like our buddy Sabrina. She's a Gym Leader, back home- has a whole bunch of Pokémon who can do the same things, too.

[That would explain a lot of things Cole had been talking about earlier, Blue thinks!! Psychics could probably see and interact with dreams, too, like Drowzee and Munna....]

[Better than the other, spookier option he'd thought he meant, anyway.]

Of course, telepathy or whatever, that's still a good way of communicating with people, too.

That is one way to say it. I wouldn't call it reading. Reading is softer.

[Whatever that means. Though he's a bit confused by Blue himself. He doesn't know what those words mean. But it sounds like the ability to "read minds" isn't uncommon in their world? For Pokemon too.]
