🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂
Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A
Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.
🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.
🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.
🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:
"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."
☕ OOC NOTES ☕
This is the open mingle post for the Heavenly Blanc void party! Please feel free to top-level and tag around.
There is a top-level included here for you to post OOC notes of what their characters have discussed on the log, as well as their own thoughts about the world. If there is anything important that people should know, please reply to the top-level with the information, so that it's easy to find for everyone. General info posts about what your character will be talking about are fine as well. Just please try to avoid multiple edits if you can as you thread if you are going that route! for the sake of my dw inbox...
Because this is an info exchange/mingle post, we encourage thread-jacking. However, we know that not everyone is into that kind of thing, so if you are okay with others hopping into your threads, please be sure to indicate it in your top-level.
Questions about the log can be directed to the ooc post.
Have fun! |

I wouldn't trust what you watch. [ she has a feeling it won't match any known species at best and will be offensive at worst. better not to prod that. ] My name is Ahsoka. Thanks for the drink.
[ and then, perhaps a touch bruised in her ego, she takes a strong and fast sip of the tea. she hits the cup on the counter, still half-full, and breathes in deep as she takes in the hot tea. her throat is on fire, but it's definitely better than the cocktail. ]

[It's hard to tell if he simply doesn't pick up the curtness of her reply, or is just breezing past it.... But he doesn't seem too smug about it as he continues, so-] Sure, no problem, Ahsoka! It's called green tea, if you ever wanna order it again. Ren-chan is actually pretty good! Though it's no match for the cup my sis brews.
[He has a little chuckle to himself, having a moment of indecision before he decides to leave the coffee there for her, too. Just in case she wants to have a taste- hmmm, should he bring her some sugar and milk, in case...?]
[And then she shotguns the tea, which honestly, is pretty damn impressive. He stares for a moment before glancing towards the bar again. Maybe he should get more tea ready, too.....]
--Oh, I'm Blue, by the way. And that- [He points across the room, to where a fluffy little vulpine is snoozing on a table, alongside a quiet boy and a yellow rodent-] Is Eevee, my Pokémon partner. On our planet, it's just humans and Pokémon, but Pokémon come in a really wide variety. Like Pikachu, chillin' out next to him. Or the big metal guy, over there. [He gestures to Duraludon, towering over the crowd with his equally tall trainer across the room.]
[Maybe Dragonite was outside? He doesn't see the Dragon-type...]

So you just have all these little guys running around and you make friends with them? That sounds both sweet and dangerous.
[ and, unspoken, peaceful. it sounds nice in a way she wishes for. ]
You were saying before that some Pokemon are here, but different from how you've seen them before, right? Do you think they would be easy to domesticate like yours?
no subject
Kinda just like people, I guess.
[Blue hadn't quite gotten a full sense yet of just how peaceful his world was compared to others, but he would surely learn- there had been strange mismatched understands already, surely.... But no breaking points, or anything like that.]
Oh-- like the Pidgey outside this place, right? [Blue gestures up, like toward the roof; he had helped Tifa to tame the Pidgey so they wouldn't attack patrons, and now they were much better behaved, so...] I think so! They don't understand people's words as easily as the ones I'm used to, but they still definitely can learn.
Snacks are a good motivator, [Blue grins.]

I was just asking because it would be nice if we could domesticate some of the wildlife. We have to live with them as much as they do with us. [ she crosses her arms and then frowns, remembering- ] I was attacked by uh, a giant flopping fish though. Think we could just grill those up for food.

[Blue had considered taking along one of the little fellas himself, but he wanted to wait until his partners were free of their balls again, so he could catch it properly.]
[He frowns a little at the mention of the Dragonkarp, and grimaces.] --They're called Magikarp, [He corrects, and knits his brows.] You wouldn't want to eat them anyway- they're all scales and bones. But.... with how aggressive they're bein, I'm kind of worried about them. Usually they don't get this aggressive until after they evolve. [Blue would know- he's trained one.]
To be acting like this in their base form makes me think they're agitated by something- it's happened before, but we haven't been able to figure out what's making them so upset. They're not as easy to communicate with as other Pokémon to begin with, let alone when they're trying to attack you...

[ although- ]
How do they evolve? We might want to avoid that if they're more aggressive after that.
[ she has no idea how evolution factors in because that term means something completely different than the way blue is using it. ]
no subject
It might be.... Gyarados, their evolution, is renowned for its temper. So it's not the first time something like this has happened, but the last time it was-- well, unnatural. I guess this isn't very natural either, is it?
[Ah... explaining Pokémon evolution, huh? Blue thinks for a moment on how to explain it.] Pokémon change form when they get stronger, [He begins slowly] Kinda like how humans grow up, Pokémon grow up, too. Pokémon's bodies contain a lot of energy, so when that energy builds up enough, it triggers something in their cellular structure that causes a more rapid and sudden change of form. We call that 'evolution'.
[It's a lot of info to process, so he tries to pare it down as best he can.]
My gramps is a researcher of these kinds of phenomena, but there's still a lot we don't know about exactly why and how Pokémon evolve, besides observed conditions. And for the most part, the common factor is battling to get stronger. These Magikarp are really aggressive, but they're not a species known for being strong in battle....
