🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂
Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A
Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.
🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.
🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.
🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:
"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."
☕ OOC NOTES ☕
This is the open mingle post for the Heavenly Blanc void party! Please feel free to top-level and tag around.
There is a top-level included here for you to post OOC notes of what their characters have discussed on the log, as well as their own thoughts about the world. If there is anything important that people should know, please reply to the top-level with the information, so that it's easy to find for everyone. General info posts about what your character will be talking about are fine as well. Just please try to avoid multiple edits if you can as you thread if you are going that route! for the sake of my dw inbox...
Because this is an info exchange/mingle post, we encourage thread-jacking. However, we know that not everyone is into that kind of thing, so if you are okay with others hopping into your threads, please be sure to indicate it in your top-level.
Questions about the log can be directed to the ooc post.

It's certainly not normal.
[ as lance makes another move, thoughtful as he looks the board over. ]
It begs the question of what this place is, I think. And who, or what, created it. Something with an unmistakable amount of power.

(Too bad that information didn't come out! Ren would absolutely love to hear how a younger Blue was.)

[ with a slight frown, as he inclines his head toward dragonite, who is still paying pretty close attention to the shogi board, almost as if the dragon-type is following the game. ]
There are Pokemon, like Dragonite, who possess incredible powers. We refer to them as 'Legendary Pokemon' or 'Mythical Pokemon.' Some have the ability to manipulate time and space, or possess extraordinarily power over the various elements . . . quite a few of them live in Kanto and Johto, where I am from.
[ for some reason, that area of the world seems to just attract these beings. ]
But typically, they only lash out against human beings when provoked . . . they tend to leave us alone, for the most part.

(The Pokémon Lore thickens. He learned about Pokéballs, communication and many other factors, all in the span of time this party takes place in!
He sure will have to start taking notes soon...)
But even taking people from different dimensions? Would it be possible as well?

[ with much warmth, as he looks at dragonite, who (a little shamelessly) looks rather pleased with himself. and he considers leaving it there, but it would be a shame if ren didn't know how incredible dragons are.
so, here you go. the dragon ted talk. ]
They are exceptionally powerful beings, Dragons. They possess legendary strength, and their potential is near mythical. Few beings can best them, in battle, and even fewer possess a natural strength against them.
[ it's part of the reason why lance is so drawn to them. it's a beautiful thing, really, to witness such strength. ]
Specifically, Dragonite's mythos runs through centuries of tales and rumors, particularly stories of the beings saving sailors at sea. It is very rare, to tame them, and become partners with them. And while Dragonite may not possess the same abilities as Celebi or Mew -- who might be capable of what you describe, or another Legendary type, he possesses power that most Pokemon will never be able to achieve.

Lance has Ren's undivided attention during the explanation he gives. All the Poképeople sound so passionate about Pokémon that it surely gives Ren growing desire to visit their world someday, should that be possible.
One thing, though. He looks at Dragonite, and while he doesn't contest or doubt any of the information Lance gave him, he cannot help but to notice that Dragonite is... Cute. Like a plushie?
Would hate to piss him off.)
You must be proud of your bond.
(At this point at the party, Ren had already understood the level of friendship and partnership involved between Pokémon and their trainers, so, color him impressed if what Lance says checks out!)

[ without hesitation, and dragonite seems to confirm that by leaning down to nudge his snout against lance's shoulder, causing the champion to sway slightly. ]
If I've accomplished nothing else in life than my bond with Dragonite, I would consider that a life well lived.
[ he loves his best boy very much. ]

Are they stripped of their powers?
(Since he really hasn't seen any of the powerful feats as of now.)

[ dragonite lacks the ability to burn or hyper beam, but seems to be able to do everything else just fine. like punch, or kick, or fly. lance isn't entirely sure why, but . . . ]
We attempted to battle one of the Magikarp in the lake, when it attacked, but our initial attempt was a failure.
[ turns out hyper beam to knock it out quickly was not a recommended course of action, whoops. ]
no subject
(In the lake, must be talking about the fish, right? Karp? The one that slashed his shin. The thing can't die, even when it had a knife impaling it.)
Is that "from" you guys?
no subject
[ it is very obvious that lance is very charmed by these fucking psychopathic fish. ]
They're a little more violent than they are in Johto or Kanto, but it must be some type of regional variety that I haven't met yet, before coming here.
[ because, obviously, that's just how this works. ]
I've raised a few of them, at home. They're pretty cute, once you get past the flopping around. [ and general uselessness... at least, his version of magikarp. ] They have great potential, if you're patient -- have you run into them?
no subject
It's like Blue with the tincans...)
What do you mean, if you're patient? Can they learn new things?
(And yes, he has, Lance... He has and he hates them...)
I had an encounter.
no subject
[ buckle up, kid. time for dragon taming 101. ]
Magikarp evolve into Gyarados; I have one, for a partner. They are typically aggressive and hard to control, and lash out more frequently than not.
[ and he holds up his hands, about a foot apart, and slowly spreads his arms, to indicate a massive growth in length. ]
Imagine the creatures in the lake growing to something over twenty feet long and nearly six hundred pounds . . . it is an incredible manifestation of power. There are legends of Gyarados destroying cities and sinking ships . . . very unlike Dragonite, here, who has something of an opposite reputation.
[ AND THEY ARE CUTE AS HECK. but it's clear, in how lance speaks, that he holds a great and deep-seated love and admiration, for these creatures. regardless of gyarados' reputation, lance is absolutely enamored with the beings. ]
Incidentally, the Magikarp in the lake carry the shape of Magikarp, but the temperment of their evolved form, Gyarados . . . which I've never seen before. I hope your encounter was relatively painless; they seem harmless, for the most part.

Surely he can make the assumption other Poképeople and Pokémon stand in the way, as Dragonite himself, but... What do you even do if such creatures just decide to cause havoc? How does an average citizen that is not a Pokémon trainer deal with this? Are there non-Pokémon trainers? Do the wild Pokémon unite? How is that working here if they do evolve as Lance says? Not everybody has Pokémon, and his own source of power is locked in, only serving as a source of occasional conversation (and commentary) in his head. Sometimes.
He just looks at the Fluffy Dragon with goggly eyes, as to ask for confirmation of his thoughts, even if he didn't express them.)
It was not. Their fins are sharp.
no subject
but now, he and gyarados are thick as thieves. pokemon are weird, you know. ]
Ah, you were hurt?
[ that's no good, and lance offers a slight frown. ]
They did attack out of fear . . . they are probably scared. I'm sure they didn't mean any real harm.
[ FISH ARE FRIENDS NOT FOOD ]

It's better now. Don't worry about it.
(Ren shrugs for a second, eyes dropping to the damaged shin that, while still hurting on occasion, doesn't drag him with the limping anymore.
The thing definitely did not attack out of fear, though... It came flapping from the distance and when it approached enough for Ren to take a good look, it launched and stuck to him. It was not a glorious moment and Ren had to make a fast decision! That all being thought, however, Ren decided to not bring this up to the Poképeople, that seems like a terrible idea.)
Raihan-san showed me the Pokéballs. Do you also have others with you?
