What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories. 🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party. 🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal. 🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone: "Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you." "It's nice to see everyone. [ Well, damn it. He was hoping he could get out of doing this, but Tifa has her ways of being persuasive... which is all the more reason it should be her who's announcing this. Then again, it's only fair since it was Cloud who first brought the idea up... he shouldn't be making others do the legwork, but he's not sure how he feels about being the leader either. What would Barret do in his place? ... Yeah, he already knows what Barret would do.

After downing his shot of liquid courage in one go, Cloud stands up on top of the counter to gather everyone's attention. It's announcement time! ]

Everyone, listen up.

[ Is everyone even listening? Whether they are or not, he's already up on the counter (why?), which means he's gonna power through this whether everyone likes it or not. This is so embarrassing... ]

There's a beach just beyond the mountain, I'm sure many of you have already seen the piles of garbage there. We're... not sure where it comes from, but Tifa... I was thinking we gather up a crew to clean the place up. It's gonna take a lot of manpower and hours, but for now, time seems to be on our side.

If you find anything useful, you can keep it, the rest of the trash can be used to construct new things. And yeah, it would help if you know how to fight, but it's not necessary.

[ So, they'll need fighters, gatherers and crafters basically. Cloud doesn't need to explain how material and be broken down and rebuilt, he'll leave that to the experts if there are any. Honestly, he thinks they could even build an entire shantytown like the slums, but that's going to be a little bit harder to convince others if they've never seen it. ]

Uh... thanks.

[ That's as far as a Cloud Strife inspiring speech can go... now he hops off the counter and orders a second drink immediately. PHEW. Of course, he's open for further questions and just general chit-chat/theorycrafting! ]

Ohh, that seems like a great idea!

[With a tray full of liquor-filled tumblers in hand, Blue raises them as if in a toast. Don't worry, they're not all for him.]

I'm in! I can't believe anyone'd leave such a pretty, natural place in such a state....

[Blue hands one of the glasses out to Cloud with a sunny grin. Sure, he just downed another glass, but... that only meant that it was empty and needed to be refilled. Right?] Here. After a speech like that, you probably need another sip, right?

[ More booze is the last thing Cloud needs to face his problems, but watch him gladly take another glass anyway. Thanks Blue! ]

If nothing else, it'll help everyone pass the time. Whatever time is nowadays.

[ It's more productive than drinking in a bar all day, but maybe he shouldn't say that out loud... while having a drink in a bar. ]

... Are you new to the staff?

[ He's only familiar with two workers here, but he wouldn't be surprised if Tifa asked for extra hands for an event such as this. ]

[Not if you ask Blue! Let us all run away from facing our problems together.]

Have you noticed that too? ...I thought I was crazy, but-- I think it's been way past what a day should be by now, right?

[Blue rubs the back of his head with his free hand. He doesn't try to think about the physics of this place too much- it was way too weird!]

Um.... Well, I guess you could say I'm a volunteer for today. [He rests the tray on the edge of a table nearby, and gives a little two-finger salute in greeting.] I'm Blue! I decided to help out Tifa there, since she's been keeping me hydrated. If you get what I mean, heh!

[What he means is that he's an alcoholic, but don't worry about it.]

[ He definitely gets it. He doesn't relate, but he understands what he's getting at. ]

That so? You sure we can trust you with keeping everyone else hydrated then?

[ Don't drink it all! Though he's only throwing light jabs, it's not really Cloud's business to count everybody's intake for the night. Everyone deals with the stress of being here in their own ways. ]

(When he said "listen up", the last thing Ren pictured was Cloud getting up the counter. Cleaning it up soon, he makes that mental note but overall, just listens to Cloud give out a speech. Interesting! He never took Cloud for a public speaker.

When he's down and already downing his drink - NOT SERVED BY REN , he laughs a little, taking a wet rag to wipe the surface of the bar.)

Should I ask Tifa to make you another?

[ He's not sure if he feels any more loosened up? It's definitely another void thing, he thinks. ]

Chalk that up to another thing that's not working as it should.

[ It sounds cooler when he says it like that, but he's really more of a take it or leave it kind of guy when it comes to alcohol. ]

Don't go trying it though, just 'cause I said it has no effect, yeah?

[ You'll get them both in trouble for that. ]

[Sometime after the speech, probably after he'd finished that second drink, someone flopped up to the bar and settled down into a seat, pointing at one of the clear bottles. She'd been lurking most of the night so far in the corner, generally being antisocial, but eventually... well, that sort of thing got really old dead sober.

As the drink got poured, she glanced over at him.]

Figuring we should make something out of this mess while we're here, eh? How long do you think before we actually need to, instead of just do it because we feel like we have to have something to do?

[Little ray of sunshine, this one.]

[ She's pretty perceptive, at any rate. While Cloud is just suggesting ways to pass the time, it doesn't mean there can't be any reward in it. To him, both scenarios lead to the same conclusion. ]

That's up to you to decide, not me. Isn't there something you actually need?

[ A bed to rest on? A roof over her head? ]

[She had to think about that for a second. It wasn't exactly like she was all that effective at building houses and there might be building materials that she could use to build a place to live near the bridge. So there was that.]

I'll probably end up showing up for one reason or another. Need somewhere to live when this weather keeps showing up. The underside of a bridge isn't exactly... great during a hurricane out of nowhere.

[Neither was a shanty, but she'd take what she could get.]

Hang on - you live under a bridge? The one near this place?

[ Cloud has yet to decide where he's going to "live", but he wonders if he should if others are already claiming a spot... ]

[Bowser eventually sits near Cloud. He orders a drink, then speaks to Cloud.]

You really think you should be cleaning up the beach?

[Being an evil king, Bowser does not care about the environment. However, he is concerned with his minions, and though the tribes of the Piranha Plant-like creatures do not seem to recognize Bowser as their king, he cannot help but think of them as still part of his kingdom, considering they're the only reminder of home he has. Because of this, he has wondered what purpose the trash serves for the creatures, and whether it even should be removed.]

[ Cloud looks at his own drink for a moment, then at Bowser, and then back at his choice of alcohol again. Is he tripping out or did a talking lizard thing just claim a seat next to him???

Maybe that's enough for one night, he thinks. ]

There are a lot of good reasons to do it, but I have yet to hear one against it.

[ This whole event is like an open forum anyway, so he's willing to hear out any valid objections. First thing's first, though. ]

--sorry, are you a Pokemon?

[ Cloud glances around the bar, wondering if Bowser's trainer is anywhere nearby... ]

No. I'm a Koopa.

[Bowser took this to mean that Cloud must be from the dimension where Pokémon existed.]

But I've been thinking. That trash has been flowing in since the world started, right? And the Piranha Pl- er- Tin can things sort of blend in there. Maybe in this world that's how the ecosystem's supposed to work, if anything's supposed to work here.

[ Koopa... add that to his ever growing list of new vocabulary. ]

In my world, piles of trash and aggressive robots aren't part of any nature. Do you feel sorry for them or something?

The beach is from my home.

[Izuku will speak up after Cloud gets down from the counter, keeping his voice raised enough so those around him can hear.]

Since I worked to get it clean before, I'd like to help clean it up again. It took a few months to get done before, since it's so covered with trash...but I can tell you for sure that it's doable.

[ Up until now, Cloud just thought the trash was an anomaly, so he's surprised to hear it came all in a package. But hey, good to know that it's doable, and they got a volunteer now! ]

How did it end up like that? Did your people not have a better place to dump all their unwanted things?

[The response causes Izuku to wince and glance briefly down at the table between his hands, but he nods.]

I...I know. The only explanation I have for it is rampant pollution. It was just really bad on that particular beach...but it was opened back up to the public for use after it was cleared.

[ In hindsight, Cloud thinks he might have come off a bit too strong in his interrogation. He certainly didn't mean to hold Izuku responsible for it - all worlds seem to have pollution problems, as well as those who turn a blind eye to it. ]

I see. What made you wanna step up and clear it out the first time around?

[ He seems too young to care about the planet, but Cloud's only point of reference are the children of his own world. ]

Though we agree with this decision, there is a concern: wildlife local to the beach shore is partially composed of artificial material. It is possible that total removal of garbage may be harmful to these lifeforms.

(They themselves helped Tifa clean up some of the garbage, and they're all for recycling. But ... the sight of the strange plant robot symbiotes has them wondering: this is a different universe, are actions that are typically beneficial likely to cause harm?

Regardless of the answer, is is an important consideration.)

[ First the koopa guy, now an actual machine thing?! Cloud has definitely had enough of alcohol for one night, this is getting out of hand. On the off chance that he's not losing his mind, though, Cloud just... accepts that this the way of the new world now.

At least he won't ask if it's a Pokemon this time. ]

Never thought I'd consider machines to be part of "wildlife". Are you sure that they have the same kind of sentience as... well, your type?

By the way, are you a Pokemon?

[ ...He couldn't help himself in the end. ]

(They chatter something about inherent organic bias in the Geth language. They still haven't realized that the nature of this place makes their random chatter mostly comprehensible-that Cloud might be able to grasp that they're calling him racist.)

They display signs of animal intelligence. Additionally, their composition is partially organic.

(And now they're back to their marginally meaningful chattering about errors.)

You mean those plant-like things inside them, right?

[ But even plants wouldn't be considered as having animal intelligence. They're special, maybe, and they might be able to talk to a certain flower girl, but this is something entirely else he thinks. ]

So what are you, then? Can you communicate with them?

[ Because that would help with the peace talks! ]
