Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.

🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.

🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.

🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:

"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."

[Ah, the barista. One of the proprietors of this building, partially responsible for the despicable circumstances she's found herself in. Curse him, and everyone who dares speak with him.]

[...Wait, she chose to be here. Nobody dragged her away from her duties, she did that to herself. And this is no place to be rude!]

[She waves back. Reluctantly.]

(Ren can't decide what sort of creature she is, but there's no harm in pointing to the coffee mugs and at her, a silent and distant way of offering. Does she drink, he wonders?)

[He means to offer a drink. That is his job, she supposes. She has seen other patrons accepting his drinks, caught the scent drifting by, and she can't say she finds it terribly appealing. Far too bitter. Yet people accept it anyway. Perhaps there is something else they gain from it, or some greater meaning in the offer, or—]

[For those not keyed into her internal monologue, Hornet continues to sit stock-still, staring unblinkingly at Ren for a solid half-minute before slowly nodding.]

(Ren takes his eyes off her for a few seconds, tending to a conversation, but returning the sight in time to see the nod. He doesn't rush her, though. She can come down whenever she sees fit.)

[Hornet continues to sit still for a moment, watching attentively until Ren looks away again. Then she slips down, landing neatly in a seat by the time he looks back. She drums her fingers on the counter.]

"Something sweet, if you please."

(He's surprised that she drinks, but there's no indication of that in his expression whatsoever. Just a mental note.

He turns around with a hum to check the options.)

Do you prefer tea or coffee?

[Ah, so there are some familiar beverages to be found. Still, she's committed to trying something new.]

"Coffee. I don't believe I've seen such a drink before, and I find myself curious."

(Hornet is not the first person to tell him they've never had or heard of coffee before, which to him, sounds absurd. Cafes are everywhere back home...

He does nod. The coffee making didn't take him too long, he's on a roll today to get them out as fast as possible.)

Tell me if you like it.

(He says as he carefully puts the filled cup in front of her, sugar available in case it's too bitter for her taste.)

[Hornet nods, daintily taking the cup and sipping at it. Don't think too hard about how she does it; there are mandibles involved.]

[After a moment, she sets it back down.]

"Abysmal. Why does this exist?"

(He's definitely thinking too hard about how she does it, his brain in loading mode until she speaks again.)

It keeps people awake.

"And yet despite having never had a sip of it before now, I have not slept a wink since getting here. How redundant."

[She keeps drinking.]

Some of us just have the habit of drinking it.

(Sleep or no sleep. He definitely is in that category, with his coffee intake even increasing in the Void for lack of anything else to do.)

Would you have it again?

[Hornet downs the rest of the cup before replying.]

"If this universal insomnia ceases, I suppose. There's not much purpose to it otherwise."

Some people just like the taste.

(Like himself.)

[Hornet hums, idly running her finger across the rim of the mug.]

"I suppose my own taste is not universal. Not to mention, there is clearly more to it, given the variety of things behind your counter."

[It's definitely not curiosity that makes her eye up the espresso machine. She simply tires of looking at Ren's weird fleshy face, she most certainly has no interest in what that device might be.]

Mhm?

(Oh. Yeah. The different blends - all strikingly similar, if not the same, to the ones back home.)
