Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.
🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.
🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.
🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:
 "Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."
"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."

At least the Pidgey, Smeargle, and Magikarp can be explained as regional differences, but . . . whatever that is [ and lance gestures at the dick chicken on the white board ] is entirely different.
[ though he's sure blue will have an offensive name for it by the end of the evening. and, in order to shift focus away from the weird flying-type and the dick on the wall, lance says: ]
Have you found anything else of interest, in your explorations? Dragonite and I found a church full of cake, but no such luck in anything else familiar.

[ it feels a little impersonal, not to mention confusing! everything deserves a name, even if they look like literal dicks. it feels as important as anything, seeing as they're stuck here. ]
Hmm... [ he rubs his chin, reflecting on his drawings and Lance's words. ] I'll give you the Smeargle and Magikarp, but could you really call this one a regional variant? Calling it a Bird Pokémon feels like pushing it...
[ it just looks far too different for him to commit to the idea, but that's not to say he's come up with any alternative. it just feels off. ]
Duraludon and I got across the water to that weird structure. We didn't find anything, but it looked like it was some sort of indoor city.

There is a researcher here. [ mildly enough; it's hard to say how lance really feels about it, but raihan should know that there is another member from their world (or, well, not really). it's complicated. ] Professor Samuel Oak, from Pallet Town. I'm sure he would give you an opinion on how such a being came to be. And as he likely has no idea who you are, it would be a good starting point of introduction.
[ at any rate, the news of getting across the water is a little surprising. not because raihan isn't capable, but because . . . well. lance blinks and glances toward duraludon, who looks . . . well, like a mini steel building. ]
Does Duraludon swim?
[ curiously; lance hasn't done much exploring of that indoor city, because he's been busy with
trying to ensure red and blue don't burn down this bartrying to take stock of everyone here. ]no subject
[ he pouts a bit at the whiteboard, but shrugs it off. he still likes the way he went about it... maybe he'll just keep his drawings there for posterity. ]
Well, you can't say I didn't try! [ and he's back to smiling! ] Definitely not! He might be light, but he's just as dense as any Steel-type. I made him a raft that tied to mine so we could get across together - I told him staying on shore would be better, but he was pretty insistent on wanting to keep me safe...
[ Duraludon lets out a low series of growls, which probably translate to "because you wouldn't have been safe without me", which get a small chuckle out of Raihan. ] Alright, alright, I get it! You know I appreciate you sticking your neck out for me.

talking about duraludon is way more fun, anyway, and lance leans forward to pat the steel-type on the head, amused. ]

[ warmly enough; and, indeed, dragonite definitely rolls his eyes when lance isn't looking, grumbling in agreement with duraludon. they never listen to us when they should, seems to be the general sentiment, there. ]
Dragonite can swim, but I think he's outgrown that period of his life.

I think all of our lives would be much easier if Blue and I had our Gyarados available to us, or more Flying-types . . . but we have to make do with what we have. I'm glad you managed to figure out a way to explore together.

You too, Dragonite? [ he smiles wider; he's feeling a bit more natural around him and Lance, despite the fringes of starstruck idolization still lingering. ] Yeah, it sure is.
[ that's definitely something that every Trainer can sympathize with - relying on your partner. Raihan doesn't want to think about what he would have done if Duraludon was stuck in his ball along with the rest of his team. ]
I hear you! If I had Flygon out and about, things would be a lot easier... I kind of miss being up in the air. [ his smile sinks, but only slightly. ] We're making do. I mostly want to see if I can start moving some rubble at the stadium - there should be a power plant underneath it, so I'm thinking it could be a step forward in getting some power up and running.
[ if it's even intact, he thinks to himself, but he's trying to hold out some hope for it. ]

[Blue had been vaguely eavesdropping from afar as he tended to other drinks and conversations, but now that his tray is empty and he's broken free from those obligations, he's slid himself up to their table, leaning casually with an arm propped on Lance's shoulder. Far be it for Blue Oak to miss any chance to brag about his precious, super-cool, super-strong Pokémon!!!]
He's a good boy, riiiight? Well, yours is pretty strong, old man, I'll give you that. But mine's still the winner in speed, hands down!
--Oh, I was wondering if you'd met dragon boy, yet. [Blue jerks a thumb, grinning.] I dunno if they talk about stuff like this in Galar, but Lance here is the head of this super old 'Dragon clan', where we're from. Can you believe it!? A fart like him!

if it were literally any other human being in existence, lance would step aside and let them fall on their face with the sudden imbalance at invading his space without permission like that, but instead, lance remains still, though he does look somewhat long-suffering. ]
I think Raihan is familiar with who I am.
[ it's about the closest that lance will ever come to a humblebrag. and lance glances toward raihan, eyebrows arched a little as he inclines his head toward blue, amused. ]

[ this is... interesting to watch? if not a bit surprising that Lance is so casual about Blue draping himself on him, but it's not like it's Raihan's place to comment on it. he knows that Lance had held positions in the Elite Four and in the Champion's seat, so it would make sense that they know each other... but still! odd. ]

The best Champ, that is! I figured you dragon nerds would meet eventually, so I didn't wanna ruin the surprise. Heh, maybe you should go around calling yourself 'the great Lance', huh!?
[As they talk, Blue's eye drifts towards Raihan's chest, then downward, like he's distracted by something. Hmmmm.... why is it that he's still got a nagging feeling about the designs and logos Raihan wears....? He sips his drink as he ponders on it, eyes lingering in place. It's a nice distraction.]

[ a little surprised, as lance glances toward blue, who is still resting his weight on his shoulder, arching his eyebrows . . . but the surprise soon turns into exasperation, as he sighs and returns his attention to his drink. ]
I think I have enough titles without adding "great" to anything. [ a bit dryly; blue, please. and, subtly, lance delivers a sharp elbow to blue's side, because he notices you're staring, as he takes a sip of his drink, a warm smile in raihan's direction. ] Blue, as you can tell, is modest and gracious in his achievements.

[ because obviously, Lanec is the coolest! sucking up and throwing someone under the bus? maybe a little, but it's the truth, and he wouldn't if he didn't think that Blue could take it. clearly there's a familair relationship between the two of them.
and he definitely noticed Blue's staring, but says nothing about it. it's flattering, really; he knows he's irresistible in all physical aspects, so who can blame him? ]

[His cool acceptance of the accusation is interrupted by Lance's elbow and he hisses, shooting Lance a wounded frown as he finally lifts his own arm off from Lance's shoulder.] Ow! Sheesh..! [He mutters under his breath, but quickly recovers his cool; he's decided he's done hanging off of Lance anyway, because there's something more important to address, here.]
[He saunters towards Raihan with a lofted brow, apparently in response to his challenge. Blue liked Raihan; he could give as hard as he got when it came to trading fun banter, and in any case the guy couldn't be too boring, if he was an 8th Gym Leader, right? Blue gets right up in his face- almost a little too close, in a way- unable to hide the battlelust in his smile.] That's more like it. You're just dying to battle us, right?
Well, I'd say the same to you... [Blue's fingers walk against Raihan's chest, just for a split second like he's flirting a little too heavily--]

[Blue's head whips around to send Lance an accusatory stare as- indeed- the pattern revealed over Raihan's chest almost perfectly matches the one on Lance's. His delighted stare whips back towards Raihan, joyously grinning up at him with mischief gleaming in his eyes.] Hahaha! I thought I recognized the design from somewhere!! What're you, some kinda dorky cosplayer!?

[ ...well, he's not sure what exactly to expect, but getting manhandled like this certainly isn't. he flinches when Blue yanks his uniform shirt down and his hoodie up, taking a grip onto his wrist. ] Woah, easy! If you wanted my shirt off, you could just ask.
[ his brow raises again, but this time in surprise. so Blue doesn't know... he glances at Lance for the explanation, but figures that it could use a little more elaboration. ]
Hammerlocke's had this uniform for decades. There's history behind it! [ he looks over at Lance for confirmation. ] I wasn't Leader when Lance came around to train, but the whole city was honoured when we got word that we left that much of a good impression.
[ a Champion from a foreign region decided to honour their uniforms - it caused quite the buzz, and Raihan is still proud of it! ]

I shoulda figured Mr. Caped Costume Nerd was wearing even more of a costume than I thought.... [Blue raises his hands in a shrug, then turns back to Raihan with a grin. Not that the hoodie was much better, but it was cute.] You guys in Galar have some weird taste, but I guess if you're a bunch of dragon dorks anyway, it makes sense.
....But, a challenge is a challenge, right? You better be ready when our Pokémon are restored, cuz I'm gonna show you why I'm the top Champ in Kanto. You'll be calling me senpai after I'm through with you!
[It's confident and cocky, but there's obvious enthusiasm behind it, and he has faith that Raihan, at least, will be an interesting battle. A style of battling from a region he hasn't been to before.... There's no way that'd be too boring, right?]

the back and forth is familiar, though lance is pretty sure he is (1) the longest-standing champion of johto or kanto and (2) by far the most decorated. but saying that will only add fuel to the fire, and honestly, it doesn't really matter that much anyway. so lance lets blue and raihan have their little rival-off before he decides to interject. ]
Hammerlocke is a beautiful city, full of history. It has a long-standing and proud tradition, for Dragon-type trainers. So being invited to learn was an honor for me, not the other way around.
[ and he inclines his head toward blue, though he's still speaking to raihan, his tone a little more knowing. ]
The Indigo Plateau is a little less steeped in history and glamour than its neighboring regions. Because both Johto and Kanto challenge the Plateau, we must be prepared for a large multitude of technique, and focus on the battle, not the performance. [ is that shade? that might be shade. but it's clearly meant in warmth, the good-old fashioned art of shit-talking. ] But nonetheless, we still carry the proud tradition of being the best, and thus most challenging, League in the world.
[ he might disapprove of blue's general showboating, but he has a battle persona just like everyone else, thank you very much, and kanto/johto are still the greatest, tyvm.
(truthfully, lance is most interested to see if blue can win. lance is familiar with galar, and the battle techniques taught at hammerlocke, but blue is not. which is likely what is making the challenging so exciting for him.) ]

Yeah, we'll see about that. [ ever the cool head, his smirk remains small, but enticed. so even Lance is getting into it, huh? ] It's not a proper Galarian battle if you aren't reeling by the end. If you think we're show without substance, you've both got another thing coming.

[This is gonna be fun.... super fun!! It's a shame none of them can battle right away, but at least it's something to look forward to, in this boring place. And he can start thinking of strategies right away, since Lance was familiar enough with the region's battling style.]

I don't get the opportunity to battle many Dragon users, in Kanto or Johto. The only ones who really master the art are in Blackthorn, and I'm afraid I've run out of options, there.
[ also, clair just gets pissed when he wins. ]
And, as you can imagine, not very many people make it to the Plateau itself. A good challenge is hard to come by; I trust you'll give me one.
