🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂
Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A
Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.
🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.
🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.
🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:
"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."

General info posts about what your character will be talking about are fine as well. Just please try to avoid multiple edits if you can as you thread if you are going that route! for the sake of my dw inbox...
Because this is an info exchange/mingle post, we encourage thread-jacking. However, we know that not everyone is into that kind of thing, so if you are okay with others hopping into your threads, please be sure to indicate it in your top-level.
Questions about the log can be directed to the ooc post.

I'm a hero in training back home, so I can fight.
[He doesn't have his Quirk or access to the magic he learned in Fellden, but that doesn't seem important to mention now. He's just as capable at hand-to-hand without Quirks by now.
As for weapons...he has no reason to hide what he has, but he also doesn't really want to give it up for a weapon store, if that's what Akechi is suggesting.]
I have a sword that arrived with me. I was learning swordsmanship before I showed up here.
no subject
[Okay, this guy looks young, but not like, young enough to still believe in such a childish concept. Then again, not everyone had been forced to grow up as quickly as Akechi had.
He's trying to put his best face forward now though, so he just smiles instead of voicing just how stupid of a concept that sounds to him.]
Now, as for swordsmanship, I do know a thing or two about that. May I ask what style you were learning?
no subject
Training to become a professionally licensed hero. In my world, that's what a lot of people choose to do as their careers. Especially if you have a Quirk that's well suited for it.
[It's said very seriously too, like Izuku believes it to be a legit thing and not just something he's making up on the fly.]
I use a longsword, but as for style...I'm not really sure if it had a specific style? I mean, I guess it did but I never really asked...I'm more used to fighting with my Quirk or Magic than I am with a weapon, so I'm still pretty new at it.
[Is "fantasy world sword fighting" a style]
no subject
[You know what? Sure, okay. Akechi decides for the sake of convenience to just take it at face value, because it's not the weirdest thing he's heard since arriving here. Or even the weirdest thing in his life in general, considering everything he's already been through. As much as he'd like to start an argument, he doesn't gain anything from it.]
Ah, that's too bad about the sword. I'm much more familiar with the saber myself, but perhaps there are some similarities? I'd be happy to try to give you some pointers, if you'd like. But, forgive me, I'm afraid I don't know what you mean when you say "Quirk"...
no subject
[And maybe Akechi would have a better idea of what kind of fighting he can do once he actually sees the sword he has.
As for Quirks, Izuku is glad to explain further, because...he does understand that the reality of his world is a strange one to wrap your head around. Moreso now than he once realized, for sure.]
Quirks are super-human abilities that people are born with in my world. They can range anywhere from Quirks that give you elemental powers to ones that give you all of the skills of a specific animal. Appearance too, usually.
My Quirk was a power type and augmented my speed and strength...but obviously I haven't yet been able to use it here.
no subject
[He hums, bringing his hand to his chin, but that's a discussion for later, perhaps. For now, he focuses on the other boy's powers, doing his best to keep from thinking badly of him. The more other people are gifted with unique powers, the less special his own seem in comparison. He'd really thought he was beyond being annoyed by something so petty, but here we are.]
Fascinating. [Appearances truly can be deceiving.] So something or someone is blocking access to your superhuman speed and strength... is my understanding correct?
no subject
[No Quirk or Magic or anything he could have done before is at his disposal now. His skills for fighting just in general are likely intact, but otherwise...?
It's like he was when he showed up in Fellden to begin with, completely depowered.]
Though, I'm hoping they might just come back on their own over time, but I can't say for sure if that will happen.
no subject
It's possible, however. Some people have proposed already that this world is, shall we say, "loading?" It may be that it hasn't reached the resource for "powers" yet, in the same way it hasn't yet reached a need for hunger, thirst, or sleep.
no subject
[It would make sense. It seems like places here are just popping up out of nowhere at complete random as it is, especially with the way the world seemed to form initially.]
I guess that would make as much sense as anything else that's been happening. That's actually how it was before, for me...just that my powers never came back all the way.
[Could they here? He has no idea.]
no subject
Without concrete evidence, it's hard to say for certain, but... forgive me if I'm wrong, but have you experienced something like this before?
no subject
No, you're right. It wasn't exactly like the way things have happened here, but this is the second time I've been pulled from my home. Both me and my friend Kacchan, who got brought here too.
no subject
[Akechi reaches into his inner jacket pocket and pulls out a small notebook and pen, flipping it to a blank page.]
Could you describe your experience to me in detail? Whatever you think is pertinent to our situation here. And... my apologies, I don't believe I caught your name.
no subject
[And then...he'll explain.]
I was brought to a place called Fellden by means I still don't fully understand. If I were to have to explain it, I would probably call it magic...because magic was something that did exist in that world. It was something I was able to learn to use while I was still in it.
Myself, Kacchan, and some others were asked if we would lend our strengths to save Fellden, which was considered to be a world between worlds that was responsible for the structure of every other world in existence. We would have to save Fellden if we wanted to protect our own homes, so...as you can imagine, it wasn't a hard decision to make, even if the circumstances surrounding it seemed hard to believe.
This realm was ruled by multiple gods, and we were separated into two factions serving beneath two who had ideas for how to save Fellden that were constantly at odds: the Emperor and the High Priestess.
[Izuku shifts, rolling up his sleeve so he can show Akechi a tattoo on his bicep, the constellation Gemini. The brand given to him by the Court to signify him as part of that faction.]
We were at war for several months. I feel like it may have been reaching some sort of head when Kacchan and I were suddenly brought here, but...I will be honest in telling you I have no idea if what we were going through has anything directly to do with what's happening here. I feel like if it did, we would have heard from the Emperor, or one of the gods, or...something. But so far, there hasn't been anything like that.
no subject
[Akechi nods in return, then starts taking notes, written in neat Japanese and bullet-pointed. He really does look like a detective like this, writing down the information he deems important while occasionally looking up and nodding as if to reassure Izuku that he's still listening. He doesn't go so far as to draw the tattoo, but he does commit it to memory.]
So to summarize, [he says finally, tapping the back of his pen against his notebook,] You were taken from your homes in a manner not unlike our arrival here, and yet you were informed of your expectations and purpose by these "gods."
[Frankly, the existence of gods doesn't bother Akechi so much as the concept of being told what to do by them. If there's one thing Akechi doesn't like, it's being given a divine command.]
Did they ever imply the existence of gods who didn't interfere quite so directly in the lives of mortals? Perhaps those who wanted to capture sentient beings for study in a controlled environment?
no subject
Even the cliffnotes he's given people have been hard to believe, he knows.]
That...I'm honestly not sure. I do know that there were some gods that people there worshiped that we never interacted with as directly as some. Maybe they could have the power to do something like that if they wanted, but...I don't think that was ever the goal of any of them. They were more...gods of various concepts, like Death for example.
[So, not an idea that should be completely rebuffed, but also not necessarily exactly what's goinng on here.]
no subject
[In the same way that it seems to be outside the realm of the creatures in the Metaverse. Akechi nods, closing his notebook with a decided snap and tucking it back into his jacket pocket.]
Thank you, Midoriya-kun. [And he remembers to give a smile that looks encouraging, nodding once.] No matter how irrelevant it may seem in the moment, the more evidence the better. Only once we have all the pieces can we begin to solve this puzzle, wouldn't you say?
no subject
[Izuku smiles back, appreciative. He's glad that some others here are as interested in finding answers as he is.]
If I happen to learn anything new, too, I'll make sure to let you and the others know.
no subject
[A beat, and then he crosses his arms, bringing one gloved hand to his lips thoughtfully.]
Ah, my apologies... you said there was another who went through the same experience you did? Kacchan, was it?
no subject
One thing that was different though was that Kacchan showed up in Fellden a couple months before I got there.
no subject
[He taps his finger against his lips thoughtfully with a quiet, appraising hum.]
May I ask another question? If it's not too intrusive, that is. Ren and I are, shall we say, from different points along a linear stretch of time? The last date he remembers is December 24th, whereas I myself was in Tokyo until January 12th. However, to my knowledge, he was there with me until that point.
What about you and Kacchan-kun? Was he from months in your future, to account for the time you spent in Fellden, or is time more malleable than that?
no subject
Ah...that's a good question, actually. It's not something he's thought about until now, mainly because...]
We both remembered things being from around the same time. I don't think it was the exact day, but it was really close. He was working on getting his provisional license still, and that's the last thing I remember from that last week or so, too...
[He brings a hand thoughtfully to his chin.]
As for the time we spent in Fellden, I never experienced him leaving or anything to account for the months he was there before me. So I don't think time moved the same way there as it did back home.
no subject
How interesting. The theories of how time progresses through multiverses has been the subject of debate for many scientists and philosophers, but there's never been much in the way of concrete evidence until now.
[He taps his fingertips against his lips with another thoughtful hum.]
Thank you, Midoriya-kun. You've given me much to think about. If you don't mind, could we speak again another time in the future? After we've learned more about our surroundings, I'd like to compare notes once again. You have a unique perspective on things.
no subject
[They may come up with new theories for things, they may not. Izuku plans to keep tabs on everything he's able, as well as keep an eye out for evidence that the logic Fellden operated on has somehow bled into this world.
He just wishes that, if the culprit does involve gods in some way, that they don't try to push them into a seemingly ceaseless war like before.]
