Airplanes can reach the sky. And spaceships can reach the stars. Even if the sky and stars are usually very different from this.

They don't know this, but soon enough they'll have a spaceship and be able to reach the sky themselves, and take her--or anyone else--with them.

"... you know... that actually makes a certain amount of sense. It would be us thinking it was unreachable, but in the end the sky's just air, right? So it's whether you can get above the sky or not." Or something like that. Don't ask her to get the technical side of this correct.

Ooooh, she would love that obviously and be jealous.

"It is dependent on your definition of sky. Defined as the upper atmosphere, it is possible. However, if visible regions of outer space are included in the definition, the possibility diminishes: a considerable quantity of celestal objects are so distant their light had to travel for thousands, even millions of years before reaching us. The sky can be reached, but you cannot go beyond it."

They're pretty sure they've had a conversation about this before, actually.

"This is true of our universe of origin, and data suggests it is true of many others. We are uncertain if it is true here." It seems ... unlikely? The part of the universe that isn't just void is fairly small. Concern about becoming lost in it has kept them from going out far enough to see that the sky is just a dome enclosing that part, but they would not be surprised to learn that is the case.

They'd had a discussion about it, to some extent. She was nodding along, clearly starting to remember it. It was still difficult for her to really comprehend. Her own perspective and world was centered on the small space of an island chain, not the full extent of a planet.

"I... think it's both true and not true where I come from. I know things get weird where the moon is involved, and what you've described doesn't really apply to our moon. But the distances are still huge I think. And I doubt you have moon rabbits. Lunarians are ... you'd know if you have them. They're a thing."

She looked up at the sky. "But we can hold the stars here, so ... they're meant to loo like the stars, but a lot closer, aren't they?"

"Yes. It is also possible that there are conventional stars in addition to those."

They hadn't actually managed to touch any stars yet by the point of this interaction, so that they can be is somewhat of a revelation. They tilt their head curiously.

"You have held a star?"

Hmmm, you know what? She hadn't considered that. There might be the real thing way out there and these might be just closer decorations. "You know... that's a possibility. And yeah, I held oe for a while. It was pretty hot, and I took a bite out of the one that Rinoa and I found."

...don't ask. That went awkwardly as all get out.

"Query: taste?"

Unfortunately, they're Legion, so they're too curious not to ask.

"Being brutally honest it was a less hard version of pebbles. So it tasted like not wet sandstone going down the throat with the kick of horseradish and peppers at the back of my throat." Pause. Think for a moment.

"I'm going to stop eating pebbles. I definitely shouldn't know that information."

"Eating pebbles is not recommended: we agree with this course of action."

They're going to start bringing her food so she won't resort to doing things like this.

Hah. She'd kept eating them partially out of stubbornness and to mess with Kaiba. "Yeah, I think I'll definitely stop before I chip a tooth. Bound to happen eventually." Yeah, because that wasn't the first thing that should have stopped her in the first place.

Stupid youkai bums.

"A request: please."

Don't eat rocks, friend! Legion worries.

"Such injury would make consumption of all substances difficult." And likely very painful. Very, very painful. As someone who is not accustomed to pain and very much does not like it, Legion definitely does not want this for others.

"Don't worry. No more pebbles. I think I've shown off that I can swallow just about anything at this point anyway, and messed with enough people." She made another face and giggled. "Besides, the food they have here isn't awful at this point. It's easier to eat regular food."

...

"Be careful of those berries." She'd had experiences.

..."Affirmative."

They will be careful. They are more worried about her than them, at the moment, at least when it comes to food.

She is amused. That, at least, is good.

"Does Parsee have further recommendations?" Are there any things she thinks they absolutely should try? They know she's mentioned curry in the past, though it is unlikely to be currently available.

"..."

She frowned and considered for a moment. Did she admit this? Could she admit this? They were so awful, but she'd had them at one of the parties in the past and they were just stupidly cheaply decadent.

"Hot Dogs. I know it's basic, but beef hot dogs are really good."

Acknowledged. We will try them.

(They would fail to understand why she would have trouble admitting to liking hotdogs if they realized she did. As far as they know, the pause was just her having to think about her answer.)

They are not "basic" to us.

(No food really is to someone who couldn't eat before now. Also, hotdogs are a human food, and Legion is an alien.)

I guess that's kind of true. Just about everything here is new for you. It's not entirely new to me, at least in some parts, though other things...

[She snickered a little, finding the idea of the robot being fascinated by hot dogs a bit intriguing on its own. Certainly it was an image to have in her mind wasn't it?]

Well I definitely think we can find those at least. I'm not sure if they're really beef, but they'll taste like it.

(A lot of people like hotdogs, and ... well actually no, Parsee eats garbage and pebbles they can't really say she has good taste, but hopefully she has better taste when it comes to things she actually likes.)
