((ooc: this log is gonna be used for a few practice sessions, as well as a practice game and other such things! Iwaizumi will be sharing his knowledge with everyone and acting as a coach of sorts until the practice game, so feel free to use the TLs to interact with him, or make your own TLs under the sections to start your own threads with your teammates or others participating! also, if you are not a player but want to be in the audience or are playing another role, feel free to make TLs reflecting that! everyone is welcome (walk/ins included!) You two. I'm fine. (huff, huff, huff. mugetsu looks annoyed at kimihiro for a beat or two, but it barely phases the man. it's not so much kimihiro falling asleep that he is concerned about, but his lack of abilities to protect him should that happen.

after all, something similar had happened when he was younger. this is actually more close to home than one would think. the light around him is dim, and he yawns. he's ready to go.)

I should be good to get to my bed.

Yeah, well. I’m headed that way anyway. [He wasn’t. He was definitely going to stay and continue practicing long after everyone had left, maybe even stay the “night” in the gym like he has been the past few days, and he’ll probably come right back once he gets this weirdo home, but...Kimihiro doesn’t need to know that.] The apartments, right? Let’s go.

[kimihiros]

(narrowing different color eyes, kimihiro just ends up leaving a sigh and gesturing for them to start walking.)

Fine. I'll make us some tea.

(it's said with a bite - there's just something about iwai that aggravates him very, very much. wonder what that is?)

We can skip the walk if you wanna

[The bite doesn’t faze Iwa, though he does notice it as he follows behind Kimihiro. Never before has he been offered tea so bitterly - it’s almost kind of funny.]

Tea works.

[It’s a somewhat long walk to the apartments from here, which is part of why Iwa wants to accompany Kimihiro and make sure he doesn’t pass out on the way. He won’t make too much conversation unprompted on the way though - let Mr. Grumpypants do that if he’s so inclined.]

(the walk is long, but kimihiro insists that he can do it - he's not into being babied, but alas, there they are.

the room is rather Japanese, or at least, the most Japanese he could make it with the things he found on the beach. he hopes he doesn't have to tell iwai to remove his shoes before he softly takes mugetsu out of his neck and into the cushion he has made as a bed for the fox. it's with the same softness that he tucks him in.) You should rest too.

(and to iwai, he speaks again.) What kind of tea would you like?

(he had bargained for some down at Heavenly Blanc, so hence, he has a few choices.)

[Naturally, Iwa does take his shoes off before entering, just like he would do with any home - just one more thing he’s tried to hang onto in this place of his own world, his own Japan. The aesthetic of the room doesn’t hurt to remind him either, or at least make him more comfortable with doing so (some people react so strangely to the simplest things).]

Whatever’s fine, but you should sleep soon. [He takes a moment to glance around the place.] You find all this stuff on the beach?

[kimihiros]

(whatever is not an answer, but anyways, kimihiro chooses green tea for him. fire, kettle, now they've got to just wait for it to boil, and by doing so, kimihiro sits at a cushion on the center dinner table.)

I did what I could do make it resemble the shop, but it doesn't in the slightest. (he sighs, thin hands moving to his pipe to clean - he didn't bring it to practice. perhaps that's a reason why he's grumpier than usual.)

[Iwa would probably shoot him a disapproving look at the least if he did. He can’t help but wrinkle his nose just a little at the indication Kimihiro might be about to fill the room with smoke.]

You know, I want to say that’s bad for you, but here...[He shrugs.] Who knows, right?

You sure seem to like it either way. Does it feel the same?

[kimihiros]

I don't normally age and if the injury is physical, it heals.

(read: he doesn't care that much. he'd definitely be dead by now if he were any normal, but he isn't. it's fine.

iwaizumi might notice all the care and love he has as he tends to the pipe, removing all residue as he takes it apart.)

It's... Emotional rather than physical, I suppose. You'd find it very out of place had you met me a few decades ago.

Makes sense I guess. [It’s easy to place that Kimihiro is sentimental about the thing, but Iwaizumi isn’t really one to pry about that sort of thing without reason.]

It looks nice, not that that’s really my thing.

I hated it at first, but I grew accustomed to it. The original store owner smoked it more than I do.

(forgive him if he looks a little nostalgic, but either way, the pipe is cleaned and he refrains from using it for now. he usually spends a long time outside because of it, though.)

... Not exactly.

(yuuko didn't actually give him anything. he inherited her things out of his free will.)

She's not... Among us. I'm waiting for her return.

...Oh.

[Well, this is...awkward - awkward and sad. Iwa’s never really had any sort of loss like that in his life except for nationals rip nationals, so he can’t really relate, but if he’s waiting for her to come back, then maybe...?]

Does that, uh...does that happen pretty often...where you’re from? People...coming back?

[kimihiros]

Not really, but time stopping isn't very common either, and yet.

(by a miracle, the kettle starts whistling - tea time. it's with much love and care that he pours and prepares it.)

Both of us had the same fate there. Communicating with the other side was never an issue for me, but still, I can't find her anywhere.

That sucks.

[Probably the lamest response he could possibly give, but it’s true enough. He can’t relate, but he can imagine.]

That sucks a lot. I’m sorry.

[He wants to say that she could show up here - it is possible, but...he knows firsthand how miserable it can feel hoping every day to wake up and see someone who isn’t there—

[Maybe he can relate a little after all, huh?]

Nothing to apologize for.

(as known as he will never leave the shop if it does appear. simple as that. kimihiro pours both cups and back to the center table he is, setting it in front of iwai before he takes his own to his lips.)

I made a promise to wait in the shop for her, so I would like to return to it, even if it's here. Considering I have no idea how to go home unpowered like this, seems like the second choice.

[Iwaizumi frowns a little at the implication, electing to take a sip of his tea before he jumps directly into lecturing a guy he barely knows. He can’t help himself though - confining yourself to one place just doesn’t seem healthy, especially considering the circumstances (even he makes himself leave the would be Aoba Johsai gym sometimes).]

Wait in the shop like how? You’ve got to at least go home to sleep, right? [Right?]

It's a house. I've been living there for a little more than a century.

(because well, he did kind of live there when yuuko was around. it can even be argued that it's the only home he has known, considering his lack of memories of his parents and his orphan status.)

Okay, so you live there, but do you ever leave? [Why does it sound like he never leaves?] Like ever?

You’ve got to, right?

[Or does he, being a 100 year old ghost or whatever he is?]

I physically cannot.

(aside from the fact that he won't, really, even if he could.)

It was payment for a wish of mine.

Okay, but that wouldn’t be true here, right?

I don't know. It's a big part as to why it shocks me I even am here to begin with.

(he takes a sip of the tea, finally, holding it delicately with both hands.)

I usually have Doumeki do things outside for me. I'm not used to this anymore.

Who? [Some other bizarre creature that either drinks heavily, transfers people through dimensions, or both, he has no doubt.] Either way, it must be nice to be able to get out and about now at least, right?

[Please say “right”. He’s concerned.]

Doumeki is a pain in the ass who went to high school with me. His great grandson runs my errands now after he passed.

(it's said with mild annoyance, but some tenderness hides behind it, in his eyes. the heavily drinking is definitely accurate there, though!)

I made a promise. I'd like to keep it.
