Who: Aerith Gainsborough and YOU What: A general catchall log for the month! Where: Various locations within. When: Throughout the month. Content Warnings: n/a, will update if needed
"Good point! Maybe none of it's native. Maybe it's all from one of our worlds..."
No way to figure that out at the moment, though...unless they took a big poll of everyone who'd arrived thus far. For now, Aerith nods, still smiling as they continue the discussion surrounding the flowers.
"Yup! The whole church, minus the cafe parts. There's a ceiling hole missing, though."
Merlin might be able to follow her gaze upward and see where it's been patched...
"What about you, Merlin? Anything here belong to you?"
My, isn't she a cheerful one? A pity Merlin can't actually feed on emotions like normal, as someone like her would be an excellent source of such light, sweet feelings that are so helpful in interacting with people.
"I see..." That is indeed a ceiling lacking any convenient holes. Hopefully the flowers will be fine.
"None that I'm aware of, besides the fact that some of the creatures here seem patched together from animals that could be from any number of different versions of Earth."
And given that he's met several people here who seem to come from precisely that, he couldn't say for certain.
Whether or not the flowers would survive without any light remained to be seen. For now, at least, they seemed to be okay...
"Is that where you're from? Earth?"
The animals are definitely...interesting. There really haven't been many that she'd say for sure are familiar to her, but that's not so surprising, considering...everything else.
"I've seen a few places I sorta recognize, but not any of the creatures. Weird, don't you think?"
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to attempt to replant some of them elsewhere. To see if they'd grow somewhere else in general, and to give them better growing conditions than inside a building with questionable lighting.
"Yes, as well as a few others here, as far as I can tell." Not necessarily the same Earth, mind, parallel worlds are a known phenomenon to him, but still fundamentally Earth.
"That is, specific buildings or places like this one?" That is interesting.
"More like this place. It's kinda familiar, but there are pieces of it that are...new."
Like Wall Market, and 7th Heaven. Both definitely here...in some ways, but not quite right.
"I'm not sure what to make of it," Aerith says, shrugging, "But, honestly? I'm not thinking about it too much, either. We'll get answers when we get 'em. This doesn't seem like the kind of place where you can march right up to someone and demand they tell you what's going on!"
Which. She would absolutely do, if given the chance.
He might act flighty and careless at times, but he's been paying attention to what he's told.
"I noticed that the 'bar and cafe' seems to feature two or three different architectural styles, to say nothing of the chimeric animals here."
He's quite sure that's noteworthy, even if he doesn't have much by way of theories why. Still, he considers that common knowledge, and mentions it mostly as a passing remark. Merlin's attention is still preoccupied on the flowers, after all.
"Would they even take if some were transplanted elsewhere..." He half mutters, clearly speaking to himself.
"Right." The hole made by a guy falling through the roof, and then expanded when a second guy fell through the roof years later.
The comment about the bar and cafe has her nodding, reflecting on her visits to Heavenly Blanc so far. It...definitely has a lot of aspects of Seventh Heaven, but there are aspects that aren't the same, too. Like her church, and all the other locations of this world.
So weird.
"I'd be willing to give it a try. With a few of them, at first, as an experiment." She isn't sure where yet - there isn't one spot that seems obviously better for the test than another - but it might be worth the attempt. "Know any place you think they'd do well?"
She tilts her head, interest piqued, adopting a little, pleased smile.
"Well, if you happen to find anything, I'd love to hear about it. I think we could all benefit from the flowers thriving here!"
If only to brighten the strange world they all inhabit. Otherwise, she'll just have to take care of them here as best she can and hope it'll be sustainable without the sun streaming down...
He'll be sure to check in on the status of this little flower path from time to time. And if they seem to be doing poorly, well, then he can try to find at least a temporary solution more quickly.
But hopefully it won't come to that. It'd be nice to have flowers around again.
"Of course."
Merlin will just enjoy the flowers a little longer before he goes on his way again.

The strange geography of this world doesn't really lend itself to anything that convenient. However...
"Perhaps something could be arranged, though."
It's not like he has anything better to do.

Said utterly sincerely; Merlin has a deep appreciation for the beauty of such things.
"Though it make take some time to find or prepare something appropriate."

'Us' being herself and the flowers, naturally. Aerith glances back to them from Merlin, considering.
"I'm gonna give them another look-over, but let me know in the meantime if there's anything else, okay? I'll be here!"
