*Insert Clever Title Here*

Who: Legion and you
What: Exploring, Picking an apartment, performing experiments
Where: Various places
When: August
Content Warnings: None so far, will warn if something comes up in a thread

A)

(Tifa requested their assistance in restoring power to the Heavenly Blanc. This is not their designated function, but they will attempt it.

The first thing they discover is that there is no connected power source, no power lines or generators. A simple generator is not impossible to create, though it takes time to scrounge the necessary components, and is unlikely to work as a long term solution.

Still, they build one. Or at least … they try to.

Because that’s the problem: no matter what they do, how much work they put into constructing it, anything more than the simplest machinery doesn’t work.

At first, they don’t really believe it, assuming something is wrong with the connections, the wiring, the materials. They take things apart and reassemble them and then when that doesn’t work they recreate them entirely.

But eventually it becomes clear: generating electricity simply doesn’t work.

And so, they begin to … experiment.

By the time someone comes to check on them, they’ll have some wires connected from somewhere within the hole in their chest to a light, and seem very confused. They are functional, and yet their own internal power source apparently isn’t able to supply usable electricity.

They aren’t one to actually say it out loud, but their current thought process is something along the lines of: What the fuck?)

B)

(The Merlaut apartments appear to be the popular community choice for housing, and Legion isn’t an exception. Like so many others, they choose a spot on the third floor, with a good view of the lake and forest.

Though their choice of apartment on the third floor is not particularly unique, their choices when it comes to personalization are, at least to a degree. They have no need for a bed, so that’s the first thing to go: they take it down to the lobby and grab a nice comfy loveseat instead.

The next renovation is a bit more time consuming. They are able to, with a bit of convincing, collect some paint from the local wildlife. It would, perhaps, be easier to simply ask them to draw for them, but the images in their memory are very exact, and they do not wish for them to be altered.

Fortunately, they are also very simple.

Copied with exacting perfection are a series of childish drawings of cats and flowers and all sorts of other things, including a crude drawing of themselves. Ren had drawn all over their home in Enso, and just as they preserved them there, they will do so here. These drawings cover the walls on all sides of the little studio apartment, a very odd addition to an otherwise non artistic space. Even the picture already on the wall is removed to make room for showcasing the drawings.

They hope that, wherever she is, Ren is doing well.

Anyway, for the last change they make (aside from cleaning the sink), they add a second plant to the windowsill. It’s a wild thing, taken from the forest, and they’ve planted it in a chipped pot scrounged from the beach. Keeping it here is part of an experiement: they wish to observe whether it changes in time with the greenery below.)

C)

(A ...religious establishment?

The architecture suggests that that is, in fact, what the Lemon Cello church is. But the decorations suggest something entirely different. An eating establishment?

Perhaps, they think, it is a church renovated to be a restaurant. Though that would have likely resulted in the hole in the floor being patched. Perhaps it was left open intentionally? There is a garden growing there.

They go to inspect said garden, admiring the health of the plants. They’re very gentle, careful not to step on or damage anything, and they chatter their pleasure at the well kept greenery. It’s probably weird seeing a machine enjoy nature as much as they are, but they do inherit programs from an agricultural unit, and know the time and effort it takes to care for flora, even if their experience lies in tending fields more than gardens.

They wonder: whose memories did this location come from?

Perhaps, they think, it is a combination of multiple memories. It would explain the mismatched aesthetic.)

D)

Error.

(They stare at the string of gibberish that has been painted on a building wall.

They have been attempting to teach the natives (smeargle?) to write, but it’s not going well: though they have shown the ability to copy words perfectly, they appear to experience difficulty when trying to say something of their own-the words become incoherent gibberish.

They clearly comprehend language, and their artistic creations show capacity for original work-is there something about them that prevents proper writing?

It is … troubling.)

(As he strolls by, he catches a glimpse of Legion staring at the wall... It peaks his curiosity.

He approaches, carefully as he is unsure whether Legion is friendly, only to find they are staring at... Scribbles?)

... That makes no sense.

[ though Smeargle aren't native to Galar, the species' uniqueness and ubiquitous association with visual art means that Raihan is fairly familiar with them. stumbling upon them here was a surprise, but especially because they're not quite like any Smeargle he's seen before - a regional variant, he assumes... they're just too similar to not be, right?

Raihan and Duraludon are passing by the area when they see Legion reflecting on the building wall, so he decides to check it out. having run into one of the Smeargle himself, he knows to approach a bit softer than he normally would. ]

Appreciating the art? [ he stays at a reasonable distance, hands in his hoodie pockets as he looks the wall over. ] There's something about Smeargle marks that draws you in... never could quite put my finger on it.

Uh... Legion... your guts are showing.

[Parsee happened across the robot after a while and she had a somewhat concerned expression on her face. Because there was a lot of junk here, and this looked like it couldn't be good for the robot, but ... then again, she wasn't sure if he was hurt or how durable a Geth was.

This was definitely a little weird.]

[Tifa is lurking within the church, too, trying to find any other semblances of her world beyond it just being the Sector Five church, but so far, nothing has come up. She isn't even sure what she'd been hoping for when she returned after learning that this was Aerith's church specifically; maybe something else from home that she knew?

She gives up her search for now and is about to leave, but on her way to the front doors, she spots a familiar robot, and strides up beside them instead as they're examining the patch of flowers in the ground.]

Pretty, aren't they?
