🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂
Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A
Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.
🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.
🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.
🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:
"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."
☕ OOC NOTES ☕
This is the open mingle post for the Heavenly Blanc void party! Please feel free to top-level and tag around.
There is a top-level included here for you to post OOC notes of what their characters have discussed on the log, as well as their own thoughts about the world. If there is anything important that people should know, please reply to the top-level with the information, so that it's easy to find for everyone. General info posts about what your character will be talking about are fine as well. Just please try to avoid multiple edits if you can as you thread if you are going that route! for the sake of my dw inbox...
Because this is an info exchange/mingle post, we encourage thread-jacking. However, we know that not everyone is into that kind of thing, so if you are okay with others hopping into your threads, please be sure to indicate it in your top-level.
Questions about the log can be directed to the ooc post.

2!
Do you need a play partner?
[ warmly, as he approaches. ]
no subject
I'd love to.
(He gestures so that Lance can sit in front of him.)
no subject
What is your name?
[ curious, as he looks the board over. ]
no subject
(He wonders if Dragonite is sitting too... But hey, concentrate!
He gives Lance a smile, a bow and whenever the other wants to start, they will!)
no subject
Lance. And this is Dragonite.
[ he inclines his head toward his partner. ]
He will not harm you; he only likes to watch.
no subject
(Dragonite is the fourth Pokémon he meets, so at this point, he wasn't quite worried about damage prospectives. Also, Blue had told Ren about Lance at some point in a conversation, the term he used, he believes, was "loser"... Doesn't seem to be the case?)
I didn't think he was. He's your Pokémon, isn't he?
(Look, he learns!
While one hand curls the tip of a strand of hair, the other takes the a piece forward on the board. First moves are never so exciting.)
no subject
[ amused, as lance moves a piece, seemingly without thinking about it. ]
Dragonite is a Pokemon, that's true. A Dragon-type; I train Dragons, as my primary team.
[ dragonite himself doesn't look all that threatening, but. you know. he's also not very bothered at the moment. ]
Who did you meet?
no subject
(A pawn goes forward. Ren nods to Dragonite, as to acknowledge him directly.
That he is a dragon is pretty obvious, but now he is wondering what exactly are the types of the other Pokémon.)
Blue, Red and Raihan. Are there more?
no subject
[ as he settles back into his chair, crossing his arms as he looks at the board. ]
There is one other, Samuel Oak, but he is not necessarily from my home . . . it's almost as if he is a copy of the person I thought I knew, but there are some differences.
[ it's very weird. ]
Are you alone, here? Or do you have others from home?
no subject
(That is possibly the strangest thing he heard tonight, so he immediately perks up in interest.)
I have someone from home here. Just one.
no subject
[ it's sort of hard to describe. ]
We recognized one another, but have very different life experiences . . . I'm not sure what to make of it. We hypothesized that it may be dimensional differences, but I'm afraid I don't really know much about that.
[ lance is a champion, a trainer, not a researcher or a scientist. but at news that ren has someone else from home, he does offer a smile. ]
I'm glad you're not alone, then.
no subject
(There he is, probing at it. He realizes it for a second and pauses the engine running in his head.)
Sorry. It's just very unexpected to hear.
(He offers a smile of his own, nodding in acknowledgement.)
no subject
[ easily enough, with a slight shrug. asking questions is how you learn, and the question is a pretty good one. ]
And it's hard to say. We recognized one another, but other details don't line up in terms of our lives.
[ he won't go into detail about which details don't line up, because that involves blue -- but it's a mess. ]
no subject
This place is getting crazier by the second. I think this is the strangest thing yet.
(Right up there with the discrepancies in memory between him and Akechi.)
no subject
It's certainly not normal.
[ as lance makes another move, thoughtful as he looks the board over. ]
It begs the question of what this place is, I think. And who, or what, created it. Something with an unmistakable amount of power.
no subject
(Too bad that information didn't come out! Ren would absolutely love to hear how a younger Blue was.)
no subject
[ with a slight frown, as he inclines his head toward dragonite, who is still paying pretty close attention to the shogi board, almost as if the dragon-type is following the game. ]
There are Pokemon, like Dragonite, who possess incredible powers. We refer to them as 'Legendary Pokemon' or 'Mythical Pokemon.' Some have the ability to manipulate time and space, or possess extraordinarily power over the various elements . . . quite a few of them live in Kanto and Johto, where I am from.
[ for some reason, that area of the world seems to just attract these beings. ]
But typically, they only lash out against human beings when provoked . . . they tend to leave us alone, for the most part.
no subject
(The Pokémon Lore thickens. He learned about Pokéballs, communication and many other factors, all in the span of time this party takes place in!
He sure will have to start taking notes soon...)
But even taking people from different dimensions? Would it be possible as well?
1/2
no subject
[ with much warmth, as he looks at dragonite, who (a little shamelessly) looks rather pleased with himself. and he considers leaving it there, but it would be a shame if ren didn't know how incredible dragons are.
so, here you go. the dragon ted talk. ]
They are exceptionally powerful beings, Dragons. They possess legendary strength, and their potential is near mythical. Few beings can best them, in battle, and even fewer possess a natural strength against them.
[ it's part of the reason why lance is so drawn to them. it's a beautiful thing, really, to witness such strength. ]
Specifically, Dragonite's mythos runs through centuries of tales and rumors, particularly stories of the beings saving sailors at sea. It is very rare, to tame them, and become partners with them. And while Dragonite may not possess the same abilities as Celebi or Mew -- who might be capable of what you describe, or another Legendary type, he possesses power that most Pokemon will never be able to achieve.
no subject
Lance has Ren's undivided attention during the explanation he gives. All the Poképeople sound so passionate about Pokémon that it surely gives Ren growing desire to visit their world someday, should that be possible.
One thing, though. He looks at Dragonite, and while he doesn't contest or doubt any of the information Lance gave him, he cannot help but to notice that Dragonite is... Cute. Like a plushie?
Would hate to piss him off.)
You must be proud of your bond.
(At this point at the party, Ren had already understood the level of friendship and partnership involved between Pokémon and their trainers, so, color him impressed if what Lance says checks out!)
no subject
[ without hesitation, and dragonite seems to confirm that by leaning down to nudge his snout against lance's shoulder, causing the champion to sway slightly. ]
If I've accomplished nothing else in life than my bond with Dragonite, I would consider that a life well lived.
[ he loves his best boy very much. ]
no subject
Are they stripped of their powers?
(Since he really hasn't seen any of the powerful feats as of now.)
no subject
[ dragonite lacks the ability to burn or hyper beam, but seems to be able to do everything else just fine. like punch, or kick, or fly. lance isn't entirely sure why, but . . . ]
We attempted to battle one of the Magikarp in the lake, when it attacked, but our initial attempt was a failure.
[ turns out hyper beam to knock it out quickly was not a recommended course of action, whoops. ]
no subject
(In the lake, must be talking about the fish, right? Karp? The one that slashed his shin. The thing can't die, even when it had a knife impaling it.)
Is that "from" you guys?
